We booked this hotel as a last-minute option for a sports tournament. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, the overall condition of the hotel was far below par. The room, though tidy, was quite dusty, and we found hair in the bathroom. The presence of dust throughout the room and the worn-out refrigerator further detracted from the experience. The lack of a closet and limited hangers added to the inconvenience. Considering the price, this establishment feels more like a motel than a hotel. It's a shame that such a subpar experience was offered, especially given the desperate situation of last-minute bookings.

The Knights Inn Hadley presents a simple and functional environment, characteristic of a motel. It is a low-rise, single-level property with direct exterior access to rooms, which can be convenient for travelers with a lot of luggage. The hotel's facade features a clapboard design, contributing to its no-frills appearance. Situated just off Route 9, it offers easy access to the surrounding areas, including the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Amherst College, making it a viable option for visitors to these institutions.
Customer reviews regarding the room environment offer a mixed but generally objective perspective. While some guests have noted that the "rooms are old" and the "decor and furnishings need an overhaul," the prevailing sentiment is that the rooms are kept clean in terms of basic hygiene. One reviewer states, "The room, though tidy, was quite dusty, and we found hair in the bathroom." Another mentions, "Sheets were clean but everything else was a lot to be desired." This suggests that while basic cleanliness of linens is maintained, guests should manage expectations regarding modern aesthetics and comprehensive deep cleaning. Issues such as "dust throughout the room" and a "worn-out refrigerator" have been reported. Some rooms are equipped with air conditioning and heating, ensuring comfort during varying weather conditions. The property is smoke-free, which is a positive for guests sensitive to smoke. The hotel has 21 units, which contributes to a potentially quieter environment compared to larger hotels, although noise from other guests can sometimes be an issue, as noted in some reviews.
The hotel also features an outdoor swimming pool, which can be a seasonal amenity for relaxation, though some past reviews suggest it has been temporarily closed at times, so it's advisable to confirm its operational status directly with the hotel if this amenity is crucial for your stay. There is also an indoor pool listed in some information, though the specific availability and condition of both pools can vary and should be confirmed. The outdoor areas are basic, primarily providing parking and direct access to rooms. The overall environment is geared towards guests seeking a straightforward and economical place to stay, prioritizing practicality over luxurious amenities.
Knights Inn Hadley focuses on providing essential services to ensure a convenient stay for its guests. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property, allowing guests to stay connected, though one customer reported, "Wifi password did not work," suggesting that while the service is offered, its reliability can vary. Free self-parking is a key amenity, accommodating even larger vehicles like RVs, buses, and trucks, which is particularly beneficial for travelers on road trips or those with commercial vehicles. The parking is onsite and free of charge.
The front desk operates 24 hours a day, providing assistance with check-in, check-out, and any immediate guest needs. Guests have generally found the "staff was friendly and accommodating," and "helpful and friendly." This positive feedback on staff interaction is a recurring theme. The hotel provides daily housekeeping services, ensuring rooms are tidied and fresh towels are supplied. In-room amenities typically include a microwave and refrigerator, which are valuable for guests looking to store snacks or prepare simple meals. Each room also comes with a private bathroom featuring a shower/tub combination, complimentary toiletries, and a hair dryer. Telephones with free local calls are also available.
A complimentary continental breakfast is generally offered, providing a basic start to the day, though it's not always highly praised by guests in terms of variety or quality; it typically includes items like bread, fruit, and coffee. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing pets for an extra charge (typically $25.00 per pet, per night), with service animals exempt from fees, making it a convenient option for travelers with furry companions. However, it's worth noting that one customer mentioned the staff would not honor a senior discount and tried to keep their credit card, which led to a negative experience, suggesting that guests should verify all discount policies and handle financial transactions with care upon arrival.
The primary feature of Knights Inn Hadley is its positioning as a budget-friendly accommodation. It offers a no-frills approach to lodging, focusing on providing a place to sleep and basic amenities without excessive cost. This makes it particularly attractive for travelers on a tight budget, last-minute bookings, or those who prioritize location over extensive luxury.
Its strategic location on Russell Street in Hadley is a significant feature. It places guests within easy reach of prominent institutions like the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Amherst College, often less than a 10-minute drive away. This proximity is ideal for prospective students, visiting family members, or those attending university events. It's also close to local attractions such as the Central Rock Climbing Center, Hadley Farm Museum, and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. The property's single-level layout means no elevators are needed, which can be convenient for some guests, though it's important to note for accessibility. Accessibility features include a well-lit path to the entrance, stair-free access, visual alarms in hallways, and wheelchair-accessible paths of travel.
While the hotel provides essential in-room amenities like microwaves and refrigerators, some customers have noted a "lack of a closet and limited hangers," indicating that space for clothes storage might be minimal. The overall "worn-out" feel of some furnishings, as described by a customer, suggests that the hotel is an older property that may not have undergone significant recent renovations. However, for travelers who are looking for a place to simply "lay head for 7 hours" and prioritize cost savings and location, these aspects might be less critical. The rooms are equipped with 25-inch TVs with cable channels for entertainment. Some specific room types include one queen bed, two double beds, or two queen beds, with both smoking and non-smoking options available in certain configurations.
For guests seeking value, Knights Inn Hadley generally offers competitive rates, especially compared to higher-tier hotels in the area. Prices can fluctuate, and guests are encouraged to check various booking platforms such as Hotels.com, Expedia, Booking.com, Kayak, and the Knights Inn official website for the most current rates and any available promotions. Some sources indicate that the cheapest deals can generally be found in September and February, and staying on a Sunday or Tuesday might offer better room deals. Knights Inn also advertises specific discounts on its official website, including Military discounts (up to 15% off for active duty and retired military), Auto Club member savings (up to 10% off), and Senior discounts (up to 10% off for guests 55 and older). Proof of eligibility may be required at check-in for these discounts, and they cannot be combined with other offers. Guests are advised to select these specific offers at checkout when booking on KnightsInn.com to qualify.
The complimentary Wi-Fi and free self-parking are standard inclusions that add to the overall value. While a free continental breakfast is provided, guests should set expectations for a basic offering. Given the direct feedback on cancellation policies and potential issues with discount honors, it is highly advisable for guests to thoroughly review all booking terms and conditions, especially for prepaid or non-refundable rates, and confirm any discounts directly with the hotel when booking. For those traveling with pets, the pet-friendly policy, though with a fee, offers a convenient option. Overall, for local users in Hadley and the surrounding area looking for "Hotels Near Of Me" that prioritize budget and provide fundamental lodging amenities, the Knights Inn Hadley serves as a practical choice.

Oct 28, 2024 · Edita KovaliukasStaff would not honor senior discount. Seriously, there was only one other guest at motel. Also tried to keep my credit card which was very sketchy. Sheets were clean but everything else was a lot to be desired. Wifi password did not work and did not attempt to touch anything. Decor and furnishings need an overhaul. Unfortunately, I left my phone charger there. Consider it gone.
Sep 24, 2024 · T JNot exactly happy about this place. The room was ok-if you don't mind paying extra for a room than usual.. & having issues with the TV & cable service-that had to be fixed multiple times-by going to the lobby, ringing the bell, & waiting a while for someone to come-just to find out their room is attached to the office-& they live there!, no room service or café in service, no drinks/food offered, no one in the lobby to assist you, no phone in the rooms, mold in the air conditioner, & the pool being closed- obviously for a while but the looks of it! But the bed was comfy, wouldn't recommend sitting in the multiple sofa chairs in the room though-they had some "curious spots" & don't look like they've been cleaned in a while.. I tried being switched to another room, but it was no better.. & they wanted to charge extra-even though I just got there & hadn't even used anything in there yet.
May 15, 2024 · C-la T -it's meStay away, enter at your own risk. This place is beyond nasty. I'd rather sleep outside. No one cleans the rooms. Just nasty
Oct 15, 2024 · Jasmine DelacruzStaying in one of the rooms previously reviewed a few weeks ago. Looks like the most important concerns have been addressed and the place cleaned. Hair dryer plug a bit of a fire hazard though unplugged it.
