I don't even give it a star. This hotel is terrible. It's not a place to sleep for a night or even visit. This hotel is terrible. They rip you off and treat you like you're an animal.
For those utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category, seeking convenient and budget-conscious accommodation in the Queens area of New York City, Knights Inn Jamaica presents itself as an option. Located at 139-01 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica, NY 11435, USA, this hotel aims to cater to travelers looking for essential services close to key transportation hubs, particularly John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The Knights Inn Jamaica, also sometimes referred to as Knights Inn JFK Airport NYC, is positioned within Queens, offering a base for exploring various parts of the city or for overnight stays due to flight connections. Its address on Jamaica Avenue places it within a dynamic urban environment, characterized by a mix of residential areas, local businesses, and accessible public transportation. While specific details about the immediate exterior environment can vary, the general setting is that of a bustling city neighborhood.
Regarding its internal environment, the hotel primarily focuses on providing functional and straightforward lodging. Online information suggests that the property opened in 2003 and underwent its most recent renovation in 2012, with approximately 55 rooms spread across 5 floors. The rooms are typically equipped with basic amenities designed for a comfortable stay, including air conditioning, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and en-suite bathrooms. Guests can expect complimentary toiletries, hair dryers, and a shower/bathtub combination in the bathrooms. For convenience, rooms also feature work desks with lamps and phones with free local calls. Non-smoking rooms are available, and the property is generally smoke-free, though a designated smoking area may be present. Some rooms may include refrigerators and microwaves, providing added convenience for guests.
Knights Inn Jamaica offers a range of services aimed at enhancing the guest experience. A 24-hour front desk is available to assist with check-in (from 3:00 PM) and check-out (by 11:00 AM), addressing guest inquiries and needs at any time. The hotel provides complimentary wireless internet access in all rooms and public areas, allowing guests to stay connected. For those arriving by car, free on-site parking is available for small vehicles, with some sources indicating parking for buses and trucks as well. This is a notable amenity in a city where parking can often be a challenge. An airport shuttle service is also a key feature, particularly beneficial for travelers using JFK Airport. Additional services include laundry and dry cleaning facilities, an ATM on-site, and vending machines for quick snacks and beverages. For business travelers, meeting and event facilities may be available. The hotel also boasts a multilingual staff, which can be helpful for international guests.
Key features of Knights Inn Jamaica that stand out for users searching in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category include its proximity to JFK Airport, making it a practical choice for layovers or early morning departures. The complimentary breakfast, often described as a continental or "eight-item SuperStart breakfast" with breads, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee or tea, adds value to the stay. While the hotel is generally considered a budget-friendly option, it does offer some recreational amenities such as an on-site fitness center for guests who wish to maintain their workout routines. Some sources also mention a salon on the premises, offering pampering services, though specific details on availability and scope would require direct confirmation with the hotel. Pets are allowed, though policies may vary by room type and availability, so it's advisable to check directly with the hotel regarding their pet policy.
However, it is crucial to present an objective view, especially given the provided customer reviews. Several customer testimonials paint a less favorable picture of Knights Inn Jamaica. Experiences of high pricing, particularly during unexpected situations like flight cancellations, have been reported, with one customer stating they paid "one thousand dollars for a two-bedroom apartment" that was "dirty and not nice," contrasting it with a "luxurious clean hotel for half the price" found the next night. Other reviews describe the hotel as "terrible," "shady," and imply poor treatment of guests. Concerns about cleanliness, noise, and general upkeep (e.g., "stained sheets," "graffiti," "small roaches," "damaged electrical outlets") have also been raised. These reviews suggest that while the hotel offers essential amenities, the quality and condition of the property may not always meet guest expectations, and pricing can be significantly inflated during periods of high demand. Therefore, prospective guests are advised to manage their expectations regarding the hotel's condition and consider the reported experiences of other travelers.
Promotional information for Knights Inn properties generally includes their affiliation with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which might offer membership benefits through programs like Wyndham Rewards. Guests could potentially find deals through the Wyndham website or other travel platforms, such as discounted rates for booking in advance, extended stays, or special member-only pricing. Military members might also be eligible for specific discounts. However, given the mixed reviews, it is recommended to scrutinize any promotional offers carefully and read recent guest feedback before making a booking. The hotel's emphasis on being "smart" and providing "clean rooms, comfortable beds, and convenient amenities" is a general brand promise, but the actual guest experience, as indicated by some reviews, may differ.
In summary, Knights Inn Jamaica positions itself as an accessible and economical choice for travelers in Queens, especially those with connections to JFK Airport. It offers fundamental amenities like free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and parking, along with a 24-hour front desk. However, potential guests should be aware of the strongly negative customer feedback regarding cleanliness, value for money, and overall guest experience, which indicates a discrepancy between the advertised features and the reality for some visitors. For users of "Hotels Near Of Me," it’s a hotel that is indeed near to significant points of interest and transportation, but it warrants a cautious approach and a thorough review of recent user experiences before committing to a stay.

Mar 08, 2025 · Kleyverson BohorquezOn 9th September our flight got canceled and we had to look for a hotel at last minute. It cost as 1 thousand dollar for two bedroom apartment. They just used our situation otherwise there is no way this could cost 1k. It was dirty and not nice. Next night we found a luxurious clean hotel for half the price.
Apr 25, 2024 · Tomáš VorelWe had a really bad experience in this hotel. I understand you get what you paid for but in this situation the hotel lied. I called the hotel to find out if they have complimentary shuttle to JFK, they said yes. We arrived at the lobby only to find out that they no longer have shuttle bus because of new management and they had no plan for customers who already paid. That’s to tell you that the new management is heading the wrong way. We had to pay for cab in the morning. Room quality, was 2 out of 10. There was a crazy noise on the 2nd floor all night. Elevator was bad; you will end up dragging your bags on the stairs. Guest service was 7 out of 10. The overall experience with this hotel is 2 out of 10 and I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
Jan 17, 2017 · Ola OgunsemiMixed bag. The neighborhood seemed ROUGH but the review's for the hotel not the neighborhood. Due to a scheduling issue with a flight out of JFK I needed a room on no notice - had to call right from the help desk at the airport. The price was high but they were able to accommodate me. It's NYC and it was a last-LAST minute booking so of course there was a premium for that, I understand. I had to wait about half an hour plus for the shuttle - some of the higher end hotel's shuttles came and went 2 or 3 times before mine showed up. But the driver was nice and the hotel just a few minutes from the airport. The area - well, as a woman alone I would not have gone out of the hotel after dark. But I hadn't intended to anyway, just needed a place to crash for a few hours, so that was all right. Front desk clerk was very nice, came around and helped me to the elevator with my suitcase after getting me checked in. Room was all right. It's the only hotel room I've ever stayed in that was below ground level - my window was eye-level to the sidewalk. Directly across the street there was a flashing neon liquor store sign. But once I closed the drapes none of that mattered. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and I actually slept really well there, which I don't always, when in a strange place. Was awakened once by people shouting on the sidewalk. Breakfast was included in the stay. Shuttle took me back to JFK. So as I said the experience was a mixed bag but it sure beat the hell out of spending the night on the airport floor and for that I'm grateful.
Apr 14, 2015 · Kyra ClarksonWe stayed at this hotel on the 1st of November 2016 in room 507. We had a terrible stay at this hotel. Was not clean, stains on bed spread, terrible parking, noisy could hear people hollering and carrying on all night along on the street outside, because of the one paned windows heard plenty of sirens. Pillows smelt moldy, and room was damp. Our first sign we should have left was the absence of the smoke detector. It had been pulled off of the ceiling. Woke up feeling itchy so took my flashlight on my phone and searched around the unclean bed skirt and found bed bugs. Then noticed blood on the sheets from where I had been bit. No compensation from desk clerk at hotel. The person from Expedia who booked our flights and hotel recommended this one. I would advise travellers to avoid this hotel. I hate to be a complainer but it really was not a nice hotel to stay at.
