Thank you Eric for helping me navigate through the rambunctious front end parking system and other various things. If it wasn't for him i would've lost my mind. Eric went above and beyond from making my check- in process smooth to drop off at JFK in a timely manner. The hotel is very clean , modern and comfy. I enjoyed my stay very much. Provided breakfast and shuttle service are a great bonus.
For local users seeking accommodation through platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Jamaica, Queens area, SpringHill Suites New York JFK Airport/Jamaica often appears as a contemporary option, particularly for those requiring proximity to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Located at 140-35 Queens Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11435, USA, this Marriott-affiliated hotel positions itself as a modern and comfortable choice for both short stays and extended trips. An objective introduction, however, requires synthesizing both the hotel's intended offerings and the real-world experiences of its guests, which sometimes present a nuanced picture.
It is crucial to note, based on current information, that this property is reported to be closed for renovation from January 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026. Prospective guests should verify its operational status directly with the hotel or through official Marriott channels before making any plans. This introduction provides information based on its operational state prior to and after this reported closure period.
Environment:
SpringHill Suites New York JFK Airport/Jamaica is situated on Queens Boulevard, a major artery in Jamaica, Queens. This is a dynamic and densely populated urban environment, characteristic of a significant commercial and residential hub in New York City. The immediate surroundings feature a mix of retail establishments, dining options, and other businesses. The ambiance is decidedly urban, with typical city sounds and activity. A significant environmental advantage is its strategic location relative to transportation. The hotel offers convenient access to mass transit, including proximity to subway stations (such as Jamaica-Van Wyck / Queens Boulevard, serving the E, J, Z lines) and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) at Jamaica Station. This connectivity facilitates travel to JFK Airport via the AirTrain, as well as to Manhattan and other parts of New York City.
While the location is celebrated for its transit convenience, particularly for airport access, some guests have described the immediate block as "very cramped," suggesting that the urban density can pose challenges, such as navigating parking. Despite being a major boulevard, the area around the hotel is a busy commercial district, and visitors should expect an active city atmosphere. The hotel's modern design and cleanliness, as highlighted by some positive reviews, generally stand in contrast to some of the grittier aspects one might associate with a heavily urbanized area. However, the overall environment is one of constant movement and urban life, suitable for those who appreciate direct access to city amenities and transit networks.
Services:
SpringHill Suites, as a Marriott brand, generally aims to provide a consistent level of service and a range of amenities designed for comfort and convenience. For SpringHill Suites New York JFK Airport/Jamaica, these services typically include:
While the list of services is comprehensive, guest reviews indicate inconsistencies. One highly positive review specifically commends an employee, Eric, for providing "above and beyond" service, making check-in smooth and ensuring timely JFK drop-off. This suggests that excellent individual service can be experienced. However, another detailed negative review highlights significant issues, such as being given an incorrect room type, non-working TVs even after maintenance visits, and rigid adherence to "Marriott Transfer Policy" which resulted in a family being moved at 2 AM despite their preference to stay put for a few more hours. These experiences suggest potential challenges with room inventory management, technical issues, and varying levels of flexibility from staff.
Features:
SpringHill Suites New York JFK Airport/Jamaica boasts several features designed to enhance the guest experience, particularly for the modern traveler. The hotel was built in 2021, indicating a relatively new property prior to the reported renovation.
Despite these positive features, the negative review points to issues with the functionality of in-room features, specifically TVs that did not work reliably, requiring guests to troubleshoot them. While the hotel aims for a high standard, such operational inconsistencies can significantly detract from the guest experience.
Promotional Information:
For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," SpringHill Suites New York JFK Airport/Jamaica would likely promote its affiliation with Marriott, its modern amenities, and its prime location for airport access. Key promotional messages would include:
While the hotel generally receives positive ratings for cleanliness and staff/service on major travel sites (e.g., 9.2/10 for cleanliness, 8.8/10 for staff & service on Orbitz), the detailed negative review serves as a crucial counterpoint. It indicates that despite the overall brand standards and positive feedback, individual experiences can vary significantly, especially concerning room allocation, in-room functionality, and front desk flexibility in challenging situations. Potential guests are advised to use the provided phone numbers, (718) 262-8828 or +1 718-262-8828, to confirm current operational status, especially given the reported closure for renovation from January 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026. It is imperative to ascertain if the hotel is open and fully operational before making a booking. Consulting recent reviews across multiple platforms will also provide the most current and balanced perspective for decision-making.

Sep 29, 2023 · Raquelle JadotteBottom line upfront: Do not stay here if you can avoid it. Just the facts: 1. I reserved a king bedroom suite, the front desk gave us a studio room with a sofa bed (please see the photo attached; the sofa bed was not usable). 2. The TV (1 of 2) in the room did not work even after contacting maintenance twice. 3. When we asked for our correct room the front desk said they are negative rooms and I would have to wait until after midnight for cleaning people to come in to clean the room “I already prepaid for”. 4. The front dest never called me to let me know my actual room was ready, I had to call them 1am to find out. 5. Once I got my key for the correct room, my Mom was already sleep in the room we were originally given (again it’s past 1am) and they said that everything in the room has to go to the new room by the “Marriott Transfer Policy”. I asked if she can just remain sleep and I’ll go to the new room. They called my Mom in the original room to wake her and they told her she had to go. So we moved her at 2am. (My opinion inserted for this sentence) I understand the Marriott Transfer Policy, but they went by the letter of the law instead of the spirit of the law - no reason to move her at 2am when we would have been out by 7am. 6. We get to our actual room we paid for, and both TVs did not work even after maintenance came by twice the day. My Mother fixed the TVs on her own by looking at the wiring issues. My plan was to bring this up to the managers first, but neither was in when we were checking out.
Sep 05, 2023 · Khaalis HALLRooms were nice and staff was pleasant until it was time to check out. Rooms were never cleaned during my stay. Nor did the bathroom have hand soap. On Sunday I called the front desk and asked for late checkout and I was told I could check out at 4. I told them perfect but I’ll be out by two. I then scheduled a shuttle pick up to go to the airport. Monday the day of checkout room service came knocking at 12 asking me to leave. I then said I have late check out. I called the front desk and they said they had no record of this. I told them that I spoke with someone and of course they started asking me for the blood type and hair color of the person I spoke to briefly over the phone the day before. I had no information of the person I spoke with. They then confirmed my shuttle time and told me it would be okay to leave at that time. I then leave my room at 1:45 and board my 2pm shuttle at 2:15. While I am enroute to the airport the driver ask me for my terminal i then tell him the airport and the terminal and he then tells me that we don’t go to that airport. Which is confusing because there are two airports in close proximity to the hotel. He then calls the hotel and they instruct him to bring me back to the hotel. The driver turns around and drops me off at the Wendy’s. I then walk with my luggage to the hotel where I requested an Uber. Two days later I check my credit card statement only to find out that I had been charged an additional day of stay. I called and spoke to the GM Christin Thompson, whom I explained the situation to. Instead of listening to my concerns she listened to respond. Her response was stern and loud and she preceded to twist my words to make them fit to her unwavering predetermined verdict. Once I began to match her tone she hung up. I would not recommend staying at this hotel due u professionalism, poor communication, and ill treatment of patrons. What was supposed to be a $590 stay turned into a $1000 nightmare.
Oct 18, 2023 · Thomas WoodsHotel has a good standard and my room was spacious and clean. Breakfast is a bit basic but still in a pleasant lobby. The hotel location is not ideal regarding the unsafe neighborhood but as it provides transport to the airport it might not really matter. Very close of JFK (15’ driving). Metro to downtown is 5’ walk from the hotel. It will take 30 minutes to reach downtown Manhattan.
Jul 25, 2023 · Baudy xPositives: front desk staff, valet were friendly and welcoming, room was well-appointed and updated. Good location in Queens. Negatives: predictably expensive parking, no options for self parking; cancellation policies were absolutely merciless - this is what led me to my probably my first ever 1-star review. I’ve stayed at many hotels before, but this is the first place that literally would stop at nothing to charge me for a full night’s stay despite the fact that I was not satisfied with the room. I needed a true kitchenette, which was advertised on the Marriott site and app as being an amenity; rooms here in general only have a tiny mini fridge for chilling small beverages, and no microwave or heating element. When I checked in and saw the actual room, I immediately saw the issue and returned downtairs to cancel my room. Typically, good hotels will agree to cancel your check in and refund you on the basis that they want your customer satisfaction for the brand or hotel, and to their credit, the front desk tried their best to do so, even helping me find another Marriott branded extended stay location in the area. That said, the management was the issue here: they ignored all my requests for cancellation that day and after, and even stated to my credit card company that I had stayed there, lying outright. I understand times are tough, but that does not mean stealing from your potential customers just to keep your bottom line. I’m now out hundred of dollars for a hotel stay that never even happened. This place may be a wonderful place to stay for a routine stop, but buyer beware should you have any issues whatsoever. They only care about the money.
