For individuals utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in search of accommodation in the Jamaica, Queens area of New York City, the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport is an establishment that may appear in their search results. Situated at 138-05 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica, NY 11435, USA, this hotel positions itself as a convenient option, particularly for travelers in transit to or from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The environment surrounding the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport is typical of a bustling urban street in Queens. Jamaica Avenue is a vibrant thoroughfare, characterized by a mix of commercial establishments, local businesses, and residential properties. The hotel's location is often highlighted for its proximity to key transportation hubs, including the Jamaica-Van Wyck subway station and the AirTrain JFK, making it an accessible base for airport travelers and those looking to explore New York City via public transport. While some external visual appeal might be subjective, the general setting is that of a practical, roadside lodging facility within a dynamic neighborhood.
The Lex View Inn at JFK Airport, sometimes referred to as Lex NYC Hotel or Lexington Inn at JFK Airport, reportedly features around 62 to 66 guest rooms spread across 4 to 6 floors. The internal environment aims to provide basic, functional accommodations. Rooms are generally equipped with essential amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen plasma TVs with cable channels (including premium channels like HBO), and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. Some rooms may include small refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, microwaves, and ironing facilities. The hotel typically offers free Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas, with some sources claiming high-speed connectivity. The property is advertised as 100% non-smoking. However, it is imperative to address the discrepancy between advertised amenities and actual guest experiences, as highlighted in the provided reviews. While general information might suggest features like memory foam beds, premium bedding, and a pillow menu, specific customer feedback indicates significant issues with the condition and cleanliness of these items.
Regarding services, the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport generally offers a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that staff are available around the clock for check-in (typically from 3:00 PM) and check-out (by 11:00 AM), as well as to assist with guest inquiries. Other reported services include an ATM/banking service on-site, a business center, and vending machines. While some sources mention an airport shuttle service, the consistency and reliability of this service would need direct confirmation with the hotel, as it is not universally emphasized as a primary offering across all available information. Daily housekeeping is also typically part of the service provision, although its effectiveness is heavily contradicted by guest reviews. The hotel's website sometimes promotes features like a fitness center, and possibly a golf course or tennis court access nearby, though the exact nature and quality of these amenities, particularly given the guest feedback, are questionable for a property of this type and price point.
Key features, beyond the basic amenities, that the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport advertises or is associated with include its convenient location for JFK airport access. Its proximity to the Jamaica-Van Wyck subway station (reportedly a 2-minute walk) and Sutphin Blvd. station provides easy access to Manhattan and other parts of Queens. Some booking platforms also indicate the availability of a complimentary continental breakfast, which can add value for budget-conscious travelers. The hotel is stated to be a non-smoking property. From an accessibility standpoint, some sources suggest features like an elevator, wheelchair-accessible paths, and assistive listening devices, aiming to cater to a wider range of guests. However, it is paramount to temper these descriptions with the direct and concerning feedback from former guests.
The real customer reviews provided offer a stark and critical perspective on the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport. They highlight significant issues that directly contradict the expectation of a comfortable and clean stay. One reviewer explicitly states, "floor was dirty, the whole building smelled like weed, bed was mostly clean, but the frame was broken from someone jumping on it. the bathroom had roaches, so bring roach spray." This review continues, "decent spot to party for the weekend. but i wouldn't bring my mom or gf there ever," indicating a specific type of clientele it might inadvertently cater to, and strongly cautioning against it for general travelers. Another reviewer details a "worst experience" for a "so-called 3-star hotel," citing a non-functional door lock that took "multiple staff members to get into the room" and was never fixed. Inside the room, "none of the lights would turn on," the "phone wire was cut off from the wall," and "bed sheets and pillow covers were also incredibly smelly and not washed, nor were the towels in the bathroom clean." The presence of "roaches in the bathroom and room freely roaming around" and "no hot water in the bathroom" further compounds the negative experience. The reviewer concludes by stating they were "barely able to sleep" and would "not advice anyone to stay at this hotel at all." These reviews collectively point to severe deficiencies in cleanliness, maintenance, safety (broken locks), and basic functionality, which are fundamental to a satisfactory hotel stay. The "smelled like weed" comment also suggests potential issues with adherence to non-smoking policies or general guest behavior that impacts the environment for others.
In terms of promotional information, like many hotels, the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport may offer varying rates based on demand, booking in advance, or through third-party travel sites. While some aggregator sites might display "discount up to 30%" or competitive nightly rates, it is crucial for users of the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform to consider these prices in light of the extensive negative feedback. Any perceived value from a lower price point should be weighed against the reported severe issues with cleanliness, room condition, and basic functionality. The hotel's online presence, which might highlight its "superb" status or "comfortable" and "clean" offerings, stands in direct contrast to the lived experiences of these guests. Therefore, rather than typical promotions, potential guests should focus on managing expectations and exercising extreme caution, as the provided reviews suggest fundamental quality control issues that could impact the stay significantly.
In conclusion, while the Lex View Inn at JFK Airport is geographically positioned to serve travelers using JFK Airport and offers accessibility to public transportation in Queens, the overwhelming and severe negative customer reviews cannot be understated. These reviews consistently highlight critical issues with cleanliness, room maintenance (including broken fixtures, non-functioning utilities, and pest infestations), and overall guest comfort and safety. For users of the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, an objective assessment would suggest that while the location might be convenient, the reported guest experiences indicate a significant risk to a satisfactory and hygienic stay. Prospective guests are strongly advised to consider these detailed accounts and adjust their expectations accordingly, or explore alternative accommodations, even if it means a higher price point for a more reliable experience.

May 21, 2024 · Bimmers & BBW'sThe worst experience I had staying at a so called 3 star hotel. First experience before getting into the room was attempting to open the door, and the door lock was not working. It took multiple staff members to get into the room. I got into the room, but the door lock was not fixed at all. Once I finally got into the room, none of the lights would turn on. I wanted to call the hotel service to complain about the lights not working, but when I tried to, the phone wire was cut off from the wall. The bed sheets and pillow covers were also incredibly smelly and not washed, nor were the towels in the bathroom clean. And the worse of it all was seeing roaches in the bathroom and room freely roaming around. There was no hot water in the bathroom as well. I was barely able to sleep, nor did I feel comfortable sleeping in a room with so many problems. I will not advice anyone to stay at this hotel at all.
Oct 11, 2021 · Miguel GarciaThe front desk person was very rude, as if we were interrupting him in the middle of something very important. Giant moths were crawling all over the lobby floor. The first room they put us in was on the 4th floor, and the elevator ride was scary. It seemed as if it hadn't been maintained for years, groaning and shuddering, half the buttons broken or missing (including the fire department emergency buttons). When we walked in the room, it was freezing and smelled very strongly of cigarettes, and one of the windows was literally missing (and it's a long way down on the 4th floor) which was why it was so cold in the room, and explained the wet carpet. When we went back down to the front desk (because the in-room phone didn't work, so I don't know why they say they have room service), the guy was even more agitated , huffing and sighing and slamming things around and saying as few words as possible. The next room was decent, however. Still tiny, and this phone didn't work either, but at least it smelled better, the lights worked, and it had all the windows. I will not stay here again.
Oct 25, 2022 · EricThis is not a 3 star hotel lmao. It smells like smoke everywhere in the building, in the halls, in the rooms. Not clean. Mattress has spots on the sides and corners. There's rust in the room, and hall. The lobby person only accepted cash. Lmao imagine staying here for multiple days and having to pay hundreds/thousands in cash. Didn't see bedbugs. If you just need a place to sleep for a day cheaply, then whatever. There's nothing good here except you have a room to sleep with a working door and bathroom. However I'm leaving 2 stars because even though it's bad, it could be worse. Would recommend going somewhere else.
Nov 25, 2022 · Sean KimAbsolutely disgusting room. I got in really late and had to catch a flight really early, otherwise I would have found a different hotel. Beside the bathroom not being clean, hair found on both washcloths, crumbs in the sink, spray not cleaned around the toilet, the floor obviously not cleaned, etc.....it was really, really loud because of hallway and outside traffic. I barely slept. No coffee, no perks. Probably the worst hotel room experience I've had in recent years. I expect for my hotel room to be completely clean - everything should be scrubbed. To be fair - the gentleman working that evening was nice. I rarely leave bad reviews but trust me, stay somewhere else.
