It was an excellent stay and Carmen was particularly wonderful at the fitness centre. Her own recipe for the fruit juice was delicious and she truly went above and beyond. Christopher at the MO Lounge for breakfast was also fantastic. The hotel is very fortunate to have such passionate and thoughtful staff on the team. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

Mar 22, 2025 · Eric A. W.Had the best afternoon tea in the lobby. Breathtaking views of Central Park and amazing pastries and sandwiches. Good selection of treats and I was pleasantly surprised by the scones and the ginger jam which the server assured me was not too overpowering when I initially declined to have it. It was definitely a good choice to go with. Service and ambiance- 10/10. Price was about $130 or so. But worth it if you love afternoon tea. Can’t beat it for NYC standard. It’s on par with their London Knightsbridge location. Just be forewarned that it’s not unlimited sandwiches, tea and treats like in the UK. My only qualm with tea in NYC. But I’d recommend this place for it.
Feb 24, 2025 · lolita lI love that this hotel is next to Central Park and connected to the shopping, restaurants, and best of all a Whole Foods market! There are so many convenient shopping places and banks within a couple of minutes walk. The view from both the hotel room we stayed (Hudson view) and the restaurant in the lobby(Central Park view ). There is only one restaurant in the hotel but food is decent so we didn’t mind. The staff are all well trained and courteous. Especially the two staff at the fitness center, they were so kind and helpful. We had to buy swimsuits from the fitness because I forgot to pack for the kids. The price was very fair. They also find wearable floats for my toddler and other swimming gear. When we left, the lady gave us a bag of fruits (I was surprised the selection of the complementary fruit at the fitness center was even better than the restaurant lol.) Overall a pleasant stay, despite the room being a little small considering the room price.
Jan 01, 2025 · Amy ShiThe hotel boasts a fantastic location, but it falls short of the high standards typically associated with the Mandarin Oriental brand—lacking the expected “wow” factor, aside from the impressive MO Lounge view. Positives: • Prime location • Courteous and professional staff • Prestige of the Mandarin Oriental name • Direct access to the shopping center at Columbus Circle Areas for Improvement: • Rooms are small and feel outdated • Lacks a proper bar and has a limited food selection at MO Lounge—no full-service restaurant or bar as expected from a five-star hotel • Gym and pool facilities are old and in need of refurbishment • Overall, the hotel feels dated and more in line with a 3-4 star experience rather than a true Mandarin Oriental luxury offering • Underutilized space on the 36th floor that could be better repurposed for much-needed amenities Overall rating: 3/5 – Significant potential for improvement.
Mar 23, 2025 · GT BoyHad a wonderful experience at the Mandarin Oriental NYC - great service, clean rooms, excellent location. We were traveling with a child which is never easy, but the staff and team at the hotel worked hard to make it a wonderful experience. The front desk workers were so friendly and helpful. We ate several meals at the hotel lobby lounge/restaurant and the food was delicious and the views were gorgeous. We didn't work out, but checked out the gym- it was clean and well-equipped. The hotel pool was really nice, too. Special shout-out to Miles at the front desk who went above and beyond to help us when we left a pair of earrings in the room. He searched the room and contacted the cleaning staff. He also gave our son a cute plush panda bear toy which he loved.
