This is one of my favorite places to go to. Especially during the fall season. A couple of things that bother me about this place though is that they got rid of the restaurant that was once there and turned it into “the WiFi room”, even though there is WiFi in every hotel room. And I always thought the restaurant had great food, infact I remember it always being packed. The other thing is that they have jacked up the prices, and is now literally over two grand just to book a week there, as opposed to it being slightly over a thousand just a few years ago. And the pool area definitely needs renovation, as I feel like I’m swimming in a dirty basement. Other than that, I absolutely enjoy going there and have a lot of good memories of going up there.
For those searching for 'Hotels Near Of Me' in the breathtaking White Mountains of New Hampshire, Mittersill Alpine Resort offers a distinctive and memorable experience. Located at 193 Mittersill Rd #5128, Franconia, NH 03580, USA (phone: (603) 823-5511 or +1 603-823-5511), this resort combines an authentic Austrian-style charm with modern conveniences, creating a unique retreat adjacent to some of the region's most iconic natural attractions.
Mittersill Alpine Resort is nestled in the scenic Franconia Notch, offering a truly alpine environment. Its location is a major draw, being just "steps from Cannon Mountain Ski Area" and "Franconia Notch State Park." This prime position provides guests with immediate access to stunning "views and outside area," particularly enjoyable from individual patio areas found in many suites. The resort's design, inspired by the Tyrolean heritage and aristocratic roots of Austria, evokes an Old World charm that sets it apart from more contemporary accommodations. The serene mountain setting allows for a peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite destination, especially "during the fall season" for its vibrant foliage. While some guests have noted that certain areas, like the pool area, "definitely needs renovation," the overall sentiment remains positive regarding the resort's beautiful surroundings and the cherished memories made there. The tranquil ambiance and fresh mountain air contribute to a relaxing getaway, making it an ideal choice for those seeking to immerse themselves in nature.
Mittersill Alpine Resort primarily offers spacious one- and two-bedroom condominium suites, designed to provide a comfortable and self-sufficient stay. These units are highly praised for being "clean" and having "everything you needed for meal prepping," as they typically feature full kitchens equipped with a refrigerator, stovetop, oven, microwave, and dishwasher, along with essential cookware and dishware. This makes the resort ideal for families or groups who prefer to prepare their own meals. Each suite generally includes a separate bedroom and living room area, often with a pull-out couch for additional sleeping space. In-room amenities usually consist of a 32-inch TV with cable channels and DVD player, and complimentary in-room WiFi. While some guests have found the beds not very comfortable, the overall consensus on the rooms is positive. Private bathrooms come with a combined tub/shower for relaxing, and amenities like hair dryers and ironing facilities are provided. The resort offers limited front desk hours, so guests should check in advance for specific times, though a 24-hour phone line is available. Housekeeping services are typically available upon request and may incur an additional fee. For added convenience, laundry facilities are available on-site, though they are coin-operated, which has been a minor "downfall" for some Wyndham Timeshare holders. Rollaway beds and free cribs/infant beds are available upon request, accommodating families with young children. It's important to note that the resort is generally not air-conditioned and does not allow pets, so travelers with specific needs should plan accordingly.
Mittersill Alpine Resort boasts a comprehensive array of features to ensure a fulfilling stay. A significant highlight is its indoor heated pool and a seasonal outdoor heated pool, providing options for swimming and relaxation throughout the year. The resort also offers a sauna and often a Jacuzzi, which are popular for unwinding after a day of outdoor activities. For fitness enthusiasts, there's an exercise room or fitness center. Recreation is abundant with tennis courts (including an outdoor court), a basketball court, and a volleyball court. The arcade/game room with a pool table, TV, jukebox, and darts provides entertainment for all ages. There's also an outdoor playground for children. While a former restaurant has been converted into a "WiFi room," the resort does feature Baron's Pub, a bar/lounge with seasonal hours (e.g., Thursday-Saturday, 5 PM-9 PM), offering beer, wine, and a limited menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches. This provides a convenient on-site dining option. Picnic areas and barbecue grills are also available for guests to enjoy outdoor meals. The resort's adjacency to Cannon Mountain's Mittersill slopes makes it an excellent choice for ski-in/ski-out access in winter, along with ski storage. During warmer months, it offers easy access to hiking, biking, and other outdoor adventures in the surrounding White Mountains.
Mittersill Alpine Resort is a popular year-round destination, with its appeal particularly amplified during the fall foliage season. While specific promotional offers vary, the resort's structure, often involving timeshare ownership (as indicated by Wyndham Timeshare holders' reviews), means that rental opportunities may exist directly through the resort or through owner rentals. Some guests have noted an increase in prices over the years, but many still find the overall experience worthwhile, creating "a lot of good memories." The resort's "very close to a lot of attractions" location is a major selling point. It offers immediate access to Cannon Mountain Ski Area and Franconia Notch State Park, which includes iconic landmarks like the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, Flume Gorge, and Echo Lake. The White Mountain National Forest, with its extensive network of hiking and biking trails, is literally steps away. The resort is also conveniently located to explore nearby towns like Franconia and Littleton, offering additional dining, shopping, and cultural experiences. Activities such as fishing, snowmobiling, and golf are all accessible from the resort, making it an ideal base for diverse interests. The resort emphasizes its commitment to environmental responsibility with its own recycling program. Despite minor points of criticism regarding specific amenities or past pricing, the overall guest feedback consistently highlights the enjoyable experience, the variety of on-site activities, and the unparalleled access to the natural beauty of the White Mountains, cementing Mittersill Alpine Resort as a cherished destination for many repeat visitors.

May 01, 2025 · RyanWe stay in a one bedroom suite that also has a pull out couch. Rooms were clean, had everything you needed for meal prepping, large tub/shower combo for relaxing. Great individual patio area to enjoy the views and outside area. Downfalls were the bed wasn’t very comfortable, however I’m picky in that department and as a Wyndham Timeshare Holder this was our first time having to pay to use washing machines and dryers. Bring change. Overall a great experience though. Very close to a lot of attractions. They offer pools, games and restaurant/bar on site with limited menu options. Check it out!
Mar 03, 2025 · A GasqueDated resort but the one bedroom unit was large and comfortable. Right next door to Cannon Mountain and a 20 minute drive to Loon Mountain made it a convenient location for a winter ski trip getaway.
Jan 19, 2025 · Lionel LGreat place to stay. It was quiet and relaxing. It may be dated ( expected for a place built in 1945). It was clean, the kitchen was well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. Enjoyed the sauna, indoor pool, and whirlpool. The staff was very nice, Amy made checking in easy
Sep 29, 2024 · Kellie UMuttersill put on a great ski race under very adverse conditions for athletes. The lodge is fantastic and perfect for a race based venue.
