So what I wished I knew: Multiple buildings: only building 3 is the main building with the Spa and garage. So if your unit starts with “3” then that’s that. Building 3 is old but you won’t spend too much time noticing as you will be in your unit which really depends individually. All building 3 fireplaces are shut down since 2022. Spa: was renovated in 2024 and is nicer than it seems from pictures. Large steam sauna, large 12+ person hot tub (officially 8). 2 small 4 person saunas. Pool is warm and salt water, don’t expect to swim laps. Towels are provided. Lots of young kids. There is a bar / restaurant in the building that was recently renovated which is decent but food choices are limited and not great at all. Location: close to slopes but still 10min walk but frequent busses! The ski rental inside the building is great and competitive in pricing!

Mountain Green Resort Introduce

For those exploring options under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Killington, Vermont, Mountain Green Resort stands out as a highly sought-after destination for condominium-style accommodations. Located at 135 E Mountain Rd, Killington, VT 05751, USA, and reachable via phone at (802) 779-9144 or +1 802-779-9144, Mountain Green Resort offers a unique blend of private living spaces and extensive shared resort amenities, making it a popular choice for families, groups, and individuals seeking a comprehensive mountain getaway experience.

Environment: Unbeatable Slopeside and Golf Course Proximity

Mountain Green Resort boasts an enviably prime location on East Mountain Road, directly adjacent to the Killington Ski Resort. This strategic positioning means guests are "just steps away from Killington Mountain," allowing for incredibly convenient access to the ski slopes. While some units offer true ski-in/ski-out convenience (especially from Building 3), the entire complex benefits from a "short distance to the slopes" and a frequent shuttle bus service, making access in ski and snowboard boots much easier. The resort is also situated near the Killington Golf Course, providing picturesque views and easy access for golfing during the warmer months.

The resort is comprised of multiple buildings (Building 1, 2, and 3), each offering a slightly different experience. Building 3 is often considered the main building, as it houses many of the primary amenities including the spa and a parking garage. The overall ambiance of the resort is one of a self-contained mountain village, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Green Mountains. This setting offers a serene escape while still providing immediate access to the vibrant activities and nightlife of Killington.

Services and Amenities: A Full Spectrum of Comfort and Recreation

Mountain Green Resort offers a comprehensive suite of services and amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. While the units themselves are individually owned condominiums, guests benefit from a wide range of shared facilities that elevate the stay beyond a typical rental property.

Key services and amenities include:

  • Health Club and Spa: A major highlight is the recently renovated (in 2024) health club, which includes a warm, saltwater indoor pool, a large hot tub (officially 8-person but noted to accommodate 12+), a large steam sauna, and two smaller 4-person dry saunas. Towels are provided at the spa. A fitness center with equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, and a Peloton bike is also available. Additionally, the resort features an in-house spa offering various massage and treatment services.
  • Outdoor Pool: A heated saltwater outdoor pool is available seasonally (typically mid-June to mid-September), providing a refreshing option during the warmer months, often with picnic tables and access to grills.
  • Ski Shuttle Service: A complimentary shuttle service runs frequently (e.g., every 15 minutes during peak times) from Thanksgiving to late March, providing convenient transportation to the Killington Resort base lodges like Snowshed. This eliminates the hassle of parking at the mountain.
  • On-Site Dining and Retail: The resort features a recently renovated bar/restaurant (e.g., Vermont Craft, though food choices might be limited according to some reviews), offering convenient dining and après-ski options. There's also an on-site ski rental shop (Black Dog Sports) which is praised for being "great and competitive in pricing," along with a deli and potentially other small shops.
  • Fully Equipped Condominium Units: Each individually owned condo unit typically includes a full kitchen with appliances (refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher), allowing guests to prepare their own meals. Units vary in size from studios to multi-bedroom options, often featuring separate living and dining areas.
  • In-Unit Comforts: Most units offer comfortable furnishings, flat-screen TVs (some Smart TVs), and complimentary Wi-Fi. While many units are older, reviews suggest that their individual owners often maintain them well. Note that fireplaces in Building 3 units have been shut down since 2022.
  • Laundry Facilities: Community laundry rooms are available in each building, accessible via an app, which is a convenient feature for longer stays.
  • Parking: Free self-parking is available in dedicated lots for each building, with some properties mentioning the availability of Tesla Destination Chargers in the upper Snowshed lot.
  • Guest Support: While not a traditional hotel, guests interact with property managers or hosts who provide contactless check-in via smart locks and are generally responsive to guest needs.
Features: A Resort Community with Diverse Offerings

Mountain Green Resort's defining feature is its condominium format combined with comprehensive resort amenities. This allows guests the flexibility and space of a private residence, coupled with the conveniences and recreational opportunities typically found in a full-service resort. The resort's multiple buildings, with Building 3 often being the most central for amenities, cater to different preferences and budgets.

The recently renovated spa and health club facilities are a significant draw, providing ample opportunities for relaxation and fitness. The presence of an on-site ski rental shop and shuttle service directly to the slopes makes it exceptionally practical for ski vacations. The diversity of unit types, from studios to larger multi-bedroom condos, means the resort can accommodate various group sizes and preferences. The continuous efforts in renovations (like the spa and restaurant) demonstrate a commitment to maintaining and enhancing the guest experience. While some units may be older, the consistent positive feedback on the location and shared amenities underscores the overall value of staying at Mountain Green.

Promotional Information: The Quintessential Killington Experience

Mountain Green Resort is prominently promoted as the quintessential Killington experience, emphasizing its "slopeside" location and the wealth of on-site amenities. It's pitched as an ideal destination for those who want to be "out your door on the lift in 15 minutes - without worrying about parking." The resort highlights its appeal across all four seasons, from winter sports to summer hiking, mountain biking, and golf.

Promotional materials often feature the benefits of staying in a self-catered condo with access to pools, hot tubs, saunas, and a gym, catering to guests who seek both adventure and relaxation. The convenience of on-site dining and ski services is also a key selling point. Reviews that laud the "perfect location" and the comprehensive amenities, despite occasional notes about older unit interiors, reinforce the resort's value proposition. Mountain Green actively targets families and groups seeking a comfortable, convenient, and activity-rich base for their Vermont mountain adventures, positioning itself as a place guests "cannot wait to go back & stay here!"

The room was nice. It is a condo complex, not a hotel, so there are no real services to rate. The room was perfect for myself and a friend, but it was a little warm for my liking, even with the thermostat set low. I rented a 1br/1ba for a weekend to enjoy the slopes at Killington and Okemo. The location is absolutely perfect. It is walkable to Snowshed Lodge, but it is better to take the shuttle in ski and snowboard boots. Shuttles run all day on a loop, which is very convenient.

The 1 star is for the close location to the ski lifts. Everything else is like a cheap motel from 2000 on a highway. Owners and condo association don’t seem to care. There is literally dog feces in lobby by the elevator (photo taken the night before we left). It was there over night and someone just ended up “cleaning” it, so you could just see a big brown smear on carpet the following morning. This place is a condo and owners rent the units at extremely overpriced prices while neglecting the most basic things like hygiene, while having the rules of a prestige club. Check in after 5, check out at 10, no exceptions. 7 hours in between is spent on…nothing. We were greeted with a strong mold or smoke odor or both in our unit. Sheets were not changed and the ones found in one of bedrooms couldn’t be confirmed to be clean. Place was falsely advertised as a 2 bedroom, while the second room has no closet, they just put this makeshift hanger for clothes. Of course the mattress is a smaller size than the bed frame. Window lock broken, paint under windows damaged due to leaks, living room ceiling damaged/flaking paint due to water damage. Sheets smelled like someone slept there the night before. All dishes were covered in dust, so was every surface under couches/table/chairs mixed with food. All other interior finishes looked 15-25 years old. Of course they didn’t give enough towels, soap, etc. There is no security and you can walk into the building from anywhere. Their surrounding property is covered in dog feces, so forget going out to that nice bench and trees out front. Obviously the rules that are posted for guests and owners aren’t enforced nor mess is cleaned up. Price of over $5000 for 4 nights for the peak season week of NYE. I would suggest renting a private home in the area for comparable pricing.

Spots a little outdated and seems poorly cared for. Was there on a snowy week and knowing the HOA fees are extremely high, the parking lot was filled with snow, the walkways were all iced and not salted, there were holes in some stairway walls, etc. However, it's super close to killington and pico and they offer a shuttle.

Didn't stay here but used the facility for the kids and it was phenomenal. All of my family members slide down the slop to have some fun.
