**WINTERTIME REVIEW: I’m sure (I hope) this place is a much different experience in the summer and I genuinely wanted to give it a better review because we were very excited for our stay, but throughout our time here we just became increasingly disappointed. Privacy: if you’re looking for something more secluded, this ain’t it. From the pictures on Vrbo where we booked, and the description saying it was on 40 acres I thought it would be more quiet but The cabin is maybe 40 yards away from the hosts house. So we felt sort of uncomfortable with that. And for some reason they don’t have curtains on the windowed doors so you could see right in at night when someone drove down the driveway or when they walked by in the backyard. Dogs: their dogs are indeed friendly to people. However the black one tried to get in our cabin and then attacked our dog. I asked if they could keep them closer to their property but she said no. And I didn’t realize their dogs would be outside all day everyday and even up on our patio, which just made my dog bark a lot. Not to mention their dogs would be barking late into the night. Cabin: the Cabin itself is adorable and the view is pretty. And the proximity to downtown North Creek is nice but that’s the only reason I’m giving this place two stars. When we first arrived I thought my dog pooped inside only to realize the smell was coming from the holding tank (poop tank) below the cabin so every now and then I could smell it. It is not really a “two bedroom”. The description says it has a fully stocked kitchen which it mostly does so you’d think they’d have at least one sharp knife to cook with and that the dishes would be clean, but no. Also, we were really Looking forward to the fireplace but it wasn’t working when we arrived and when we asked the host to help us get it going she didn’t. I’m sure maintaining the property isn’t cheap, but for $145/night, and that you don’t get the summertime amenities (pizza, workshops, fire pit, etc), you would think they would have these things sorted out for guests. Cleanliness: shower, fridge, and dishes were not clean. Floor was good though. Host: not very friendly or accommodating at all. We came during Thanksgiving nov 27-30, so if that was problematic for them, they shouldn’t have had those dates open for people to book a stay. Hot tub: it’s an additional $25 for an hour of hottub. Not bad experience. A lot of rules that you don’t know about until you get there. Overall, we will be visiting north creek again but definitely not the hobby farm. We wanted a classic, quiet cabin getaway with a fireplace for my birthday/. Very very disappointing. I hope they sort these things out for future guests but it’s a no for me, dog.

North River Hobby Farm Cabin and Glamping Rentals Introduce

For local users and travelers exploring the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in the scenic Adirondack region, North River Hobby Farm Cabin and Glamping Rentals offers a distinctive accommodation experience. Located at 88 Cemetery Rd, North River, NY 12856, USA, and reachable at (518) 812-7770 or +1 518-812-7770, this property combines rustic cabin stays with glamping options, aiming to provide a unique connection to nature. This introduction will provide an objective overview, drawing upon available online information and combining it with detailed customer feedback to offer a comprehensive picture of what guests can expect.

The environment at North River Hobby Farm is characterized by its setting within a rural landscape, likely part of a larger property described as being on "40 acres." The concept is to provide a "hobby farm" experience, suggesting a connection to agricultural life and open spaces. The location offers proximity to downtown North Creek, which is noted as a positive aspect, implying convenient access to local amenities and attractions. The cabins themselves are described as "adorable" with "pretty views," suggesting a picturesque setting. However, it is important to address specific environmental aspects raised by guests. Despite the large acreage, one detailed review notes a lack of privacy, stating that the cabin is "maybe 40 yards away from the hosts house," which can lead to a feeling of discomfort for those seeking seclusion. Furthermore, the absence of curtains on windowed doors compromised privacy at night. Another significant environmental factor mentioned is the presence of the hosts' dogs, which are "outside all day everyday and even up on our patio," leading to frequent barking "late into the night" and direct interaction with guest pets, including an reported incident of one dog attacking a guest's dog. A very specific and concerning environmental issue reported was a persistent "smell coming from the holding tank (poop tank) below the cabin," indicating potential sanitation or maintenance concerns that impacted the indoor air quality. The overall impression of the environment is one that offers rustic charm and scenic views but may fall short on privacy, quietude, and consistent odor control based on some detailed guest experiences.

Regarding services, North River Hobby Farm operates more as a vacation rental with direct host interaction rather than a traditional hotel. This implies a more personalized, though potentially less structured, level of service. Communication with the host is available, as demonstrated by guests asking for assistance with the fireplace or discussing issues upon check-out. However, the quality of this interaction has been variable according to reviews, with one detailed account describing the host as "not very friendly or accommodating at all," particularly when addressing concerns like a non-working fireplace or cleanliness issues. This suggests that while hosts are present, their responsiveness and willingness to resolve problems may not always meet guest expectations. While not explicitly mentioned, basic services like initial cleaning are implied, though cleanliness levels upon arrival have been a point of contention for some guests, with reports of unclean showers, fridges, and dishes. The provision of amenities like a "fully stocked kitchen" suggests a self-catering model, where guests manage their own meals and daily needs. The hot tub is available as an additional service, costing "$25 for an hour," which requires guests to be aware of "a lot of rules that you don’t know about until you get there." This indicates that some service details and additional costs may not be fully transparent upfront.

The features of North River Hobby Farm Cabin and Glamping Rentals aim to provide a comfortable and equipped stay for guests. The cabin itself is described as "adorable" and "very comfortable and well kept," with "all you need for cooking a nice dinner, cleaning up after a long active day to a comfortable bed." Key features include a generally "fully stocked kitchen," though specific critiques highlight issues with the quality of kitchenware, such as the absence of a "sharp knife to cook with," and cleanliness of dishes. The cabins are intended to be "two bedroom," but one review disputes this, suggesting it's "not really a 'two bedroom'." A fireplace is an advertised feature that guests "were really looking forward to," but a significant report notes it "wasn’t working when we arrived" and attempts to get host assistance were unsuccessful. Other common amenities in cabin rentals, such as Wi-Fi, are typically expected. The "beautiful view" is a consistent positive feature. The property offers both cabin and glamping rentals, implying varied accommodation types. For the glamping experience, this would typically involve tents equipped with beds and basic furnishings, bridging the gap between traditional camping and cabin stays. The "hot tub" is an appealing feature, albeit with an additional cost and rules. Despite some drawbacks, the comfort of the beds and the cooking facilities generally receive positive mention for providing the essentials needed after an active day.

From a promotional standpoint, North River Hobby Farm Cabin and Glamping Rentals likely emphasizes its rustic charm, proximity to North Creek attractions, and the unique hobby farm experience. The property is listed on platforms like Vrbo, which is a primary channel for booking and promotion, showcasing photos and descriptions. The expectation for guests, based on online listings, is a "classic, quiet cabin getaway with a fireplace." However, promotional claims related to privacy, working amenities like the fireplace, and the overall peacefulness of the stay have been directly contradicted by some detailed guest experiences. The "summertime amenities (pizza, workshops, fire pit, etc)" are explicitly mentioned as being absent during winter stays, implying that the full range of activities and experiences is seasonal. This seasonality should be a key aspect of their promotional transparency. The pricing of "$145/night" is mentioned in the context of guest expectations regarding the amenities and service quality received. The detailed negative reviews, despite initial excitement, serve as critical feedback regarding the gap between promotional promises and actual guest experience, particularly concerning cleanliness, maintenance, and host interactions. For prospective guests searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in the North River area, it is crucial to carefully review the most recent and detailed customer feedback to set realistic expectations regarding privacy, noise levels, property maintenance, and direct host interaction, especially if traveling during off-peak seasons or with pets.

This was a warm oasis for a chilly night. Very comfortable and well kept cabin with all you need for cooking a nice dinner, cleaning up after a long active day to a comfortable bed to give you the deeded rest for the next days activities. Thank you for the perfect cabin with a beautiful view!

Cute and safe place! I picked this place because I had children with me and wanted a nice safe place to camp. We are all used to rugged camping, but I thought glamping would be fun since it included pizza and campfires and a hot tub! So I decided to pay a lot extra to stay here vs a hotel or camp cabin BUT those things were actually NOT included! It was a surprise and big bummer after hiking all day and after hyping up the kids to tell them it was all extra so we couldn’t do those extra things. I even asked Leslie before booking to confirm the hot tub was public but then after arrival she said I had to reserve it, with payment. There were no fires and of course firewood was extra. The site makes it seem like basic pizza is included but it is also extra and we felt very uncomfortable and rushed by the owners. I was not the only one who thought the things under included were actually included. Overall, I definitely do NOT think staying here was worth the price and would not stay here again. But we made it fun bc we were together. We went into town and explored and ate a lovely dinner there instead. The place IS adorable and seems like they do well! The dogs were so sweet. The bed in the cabin was very comfortable and it read really nice to have the heater. Towels were provided. Since there were multiple things that ended up being extra, I was afraid she was going to charge me for something she didn’t like after we left so I took pictures of everything how we left it and I recommend you do too.

We had a wonderful stay here! One of the best times this summer! THE View of the mountains IS spectacular! All of the Hiking trails are so close. The pizza at the Hobby Farm was amazing. You can hear the Hudson River at night.
