A Nightmare Stay at Gore Mountain Lodge We recently spent a night at Gore Mountain Lodge during a two-day ski trip to Gore Mountain, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, there was no one in the lobby to check us in. Instead, we were provided a code to access our room (#9). Unfortunately, the room was outdated, not particularly clean, and a serious disappointment for the price of $299 per night. The bathroom was in terrible condition, with mold visibly surrounding the tub area. The bed sheets were riddled with hair, making us question whether they had been cleaned at all. But the real ordeal began later that night when the toilet clogged after use, leading to a disastrous overflow that spread dirty water all over the bathroom floor. There was a plunger in the bathroom and a sign on the wall about “saving the septic system,” which in hindsight, should have been a red flag. Despite my best efforts with the plunger for over 30 minutes, the issue couldn’t be resolved. The smell was unbearable, forcing us to leave the bathroom window open in 20-degree weather overnight. I attempted to contact management, but no one initially answered. Eventually, I received a call back, during which the representative offered to come plunge the toilet. By this point, it was late, and my children were already asleep. I declined the offer, frustrated that we had been put in such an unsanitary and uncomfortable situation. Instead of offering an apology or resolution, the representative attempted to educate me about septic systems. The lack of accountability or concern from the lodge was astounding. No refund or apology was offered, despite the clear negligence in maintaining the room and septic system. This property should not be accepting guests until its severe infrastructure issues are addressed. For anyone considering Gore Mountain Lodge, think twice before ruining your vacation. This was the most traumatic accommodation experience we’ve ever had.

Another review detailed a negative experience at the on-site restaurant, where a staff member allegedly made rude and unwelcoming comments to a family before they even sat down. Jan 04, 2025 · brandon leeI came here and we purchased two rooms for my family. We LOVED the location, we loved the yert bar, the people there and the game room for kids as we brought two under 7 with us. Until we walked into the restaurant on site for dinner. Some shaggy blonde guy immediately started complaining about having to clean up after my family and I before we even sat down. They made rude comments while he sat there and enjoyed his company with someone else and inbetween cleaning tables. Mind you this was 730pm on a Saturday where they closer at 10pm according to the sign. We felt so uncomfortable that we decided we would take our food to go. The rooms are also dirty, we found a bag of goldfish in our kids bunk bed and there so much dirt and dust behind the beds... Go stay in a tent, it'll be a better option. Because of this, I do not recommend this location. We had the best experience we could've asked for until we stepped foot in the most convenient location to grab grub (and give them out service) Unappreciative and extremely rude to our faces and then got back to find someone elses stale food in our beds.. disgusting
Sep 28, 2024 · Kelsey BruceThe lodge at Gore is getting a little worn around the edges. Even though they try to update it, it’s almost time for a major cleanup, but it still gets the job done, and I would miss it if it were gone.
Jan 13, 2025 · Michael PomaricoFirst arrived the air condition was not working. They game me a new room with no problems. The room is very comfortable and clean. Only downside the bathrooms are very small and the toilets are small for the large customers. Just day one. So far i am satisfied
Aug 12, 2021 · john estradaWhat a wonderful find The lodge was. Clean newly remodeled rooms where a lot of attention has been paid to the details of what a skier needs in a room. Mark is a great owner/operator that cares about your experience. We had the great fortune to get snowed in and had to stay an extra day, Mark helped us out and we spent an additional night. Only 2 tenths of a mile from Gore Mountain, can't get any closer. We left an item in the room when we left, called and Mark immediately mailed the item to our home in Maryland. Beck's Tavern on the property is also an incredible place to get a delicious "foodie" meal and great service. I can not say enough good things about our experience at "The Lodge", my family looks forward to our next visit!!
