One recurring concern mentioned in recent reviews is related to "issues with the fire alarm that goes off in the middle of the night, sometimes multiple times, subsequently affecting sleep." Guests and staff attribute this to the ongoing renovations. While the renovations aim to improve the guest experience, this temporary disruption is a factor to consider for those booking during this period.
The Omni Parker House is a member of "Historic Hotels of America," signifying its commitment to preserving its rich heritage. Its historical ties are vast, having hosted every American president since Ulysses S. Grant, being a gathering place for literary giants like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Charles Dickens, and even being a workplace for figures like Malcolm X.
While a guest review specifically mentioned issues with fire alarms during renovations, the general sentiment for the Omni Parker House remains strong due to its "great location" and dedicated staff. The renovations are a clear sign of the hotel's commitment to maintaining its prestige and meeting the evolving needs of modern travelers, ensuring it remains a cherished landmark and a top choice in "Hotels Near Of Me" for generations to come.

Went here because this is where the original Parker house rolls and Boston cream pie was invented. We each had a cup of soup and Parker house rolls for lunch. Then topped it off with the Boston cream pie. Everything was so/so/average. None of the food stood out as being earth shattering. Note that the bar does not open until 4. We were there at 11am and sat in the main dining room. Service was good. The wait staff did a great job!
May 18, 2025 · Carman CarterGreat location as it's near the office I was visiting and is easy walking distance to Quincy market and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, I've stayed here twice in the last month and each time there have been issues with the fire alarm that goes off in the middle of the night, sometimes multiple times, subsequently affecting sleep. Coworkers have had the same experience with the fore alarm as well on different occasions. I assume this is related to the renovations happening Otherwise the staff and hotel are great.
Apr 04, 2025 · Frank CelestinoThis was hands down the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. We were staying at the Omni Parker House for my brother’s wedding. We had our two toddlers with us, who were part of the wedding. Our terrible experience started upon check-in, when they told us our room was not yet ready. We ended up waiting 90 minutes in the hotel lobby for our room to be ready. A full 90 minutes post check-in time. Our toddlers needed to nap and were losing their minds in the lobby. The staff told us it was because they were cleaning our room. We found this hard to believe because it was absolutely the smallest hotel room I have ever seen and there is no way it would have taken 90 minutes to clean. It was a very tight fit for two adults and two pack and plays, which the hotel staff should have known we needed because we said so in our booking. Later that afternoon, a manager approached us and wanted to confirm that we were part of the wedding because they only had us staying for one night. We needed to pull up our email confirmation to show them that we had booked two nights. We were also extremely disappointed with the design of the hotel room. Not only was it tiny, but there was also only a sliding frosted glass door that separated the bedroom from the bathroom. This would have been fine except for the fact that the bathroom also had a motion-activated light. This meant that when anyone got up to use the bathroom during the night, the whole hotel room lit up. I’m not sure who thought that was a good design. We also discovered that neither or toilet or TV were working properly. Luckily those were easy fixes. The final straw came on the night of the wedding. I needed to run down to our room to get something for my toddlers. And my key card did not work. The hotel had deactivated both our key cards and I needed to take additional time away from the wedding to get that straightened out at the front desk. Unfortunately , we know that many wedding guests had similar experiences. Several people told us there were broken things in their rooms (often the TVs) and other guests also had to wait an unacceptable amount of time after the designated check-in time for their room to be ready. Though the wedding itself was lovely, this horrible hotel experience really did detract from our weekend. For the amount of money we paid, we would expect significantly better service. It was extremely disappointing.
Apr 14, 2025 · Katie EganBeing tourists new to Boston, we stopped in for the Parker rolls and we shared a slice of Boston Cream pie. Both were very good, the doorman was very helpful and our waitress was super nice. She even spent some time talking to us tourists. Boston is a friendly town.
Mar 26, 2025 · TomLoved this hotel for its comfortable bed and pillows, for the excellent staff at breakfast and the bar which served clam chowder and lobster rolls. Highly recommend it as a place to stay in Boston.
