I stayed 2 nights in the "Autumn Mist" room, which were great. It's a nicely appointed semi-"suite," very comfortable and "homey" in a charming townhouse building. This is not a luxury hotel with all the "amenities" like gym, spa, restaurant, etc. so don't expect that. It's a "country inn" type of B&B (although without the "breakfast") but right in the heart of Philly, on the border of Downtown/South. Great neighborhood, relatively quiet and safe, with the Italian market right outside your door a block away, which will provide you with all the coffee and breakfast options you need. It's an old building, so you will hear the occasional creaking floorboard but that aside, I found it to actually be QUIETER than most hotels. No elevator shaft noise, no disruptive parties making a ruckus in the hall or in the next room, no housekeeping intrusions, etc. And my room was on the front of the building, right with South 10th Street directly below outside, and I heard very little noise. I slept soundly there. The innkeeper Brittany was very nice and helpful, provided parking option guidance, very clear communicator, made access very easy and user-friendly. She has a very cute cat, who sometimes likes to wander around the common area hallways, so you should be aware of that (in case of allergies or extreme phobia of cats.) Billing was easy, and personally I don't think you can beat the price. I paid $240 (plus tax) for two nights there.

Apr 23, 2025 · Michael RafalowichBella Vista hotel was a wonderful, comfortable space to return to after long days of exploring the city. It was perfectly located within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. We stayed in the Autumn Mist room and appreciated the spacious setup, big windows, and mini fridge amenities setup.
Apr 04, 2025 · Stephanie SunOld-time place in a good location for south Philly sights, protected from road noise at the back of the building especially. Italian Market just a few blocks away is a must for foodies, and the bagel place opposite is nice (large portions!). Coffee shop down the road is also excellent. We stayed in Summer Breeeze room which was more spacious than suggested by the pictures and comfortable. Main negatives were sound insulation from nearby rooms isn't great and the iron wasn't working (but was quickly replaced on request). There was also no kettle so tea-drinkers have to make do with the microwave! A few glitches too (one bedside lamp broken, light bulbs gone, shower isn't perfect). The decor won't be to everyone's taste but we liked it a lot more than a sanitised and soul-less corporate chain hotel. Main suggestion for improvement would be to have plug sockets or an extension cable near the bed to charge devices overnight. Despite these minor issues we were very happy with our stay and would return, Brittany was helpful with the booking when we had to make a few changes.
Mar 30, 2025 · Jonathan RoiserBella Vista Hotel is a Philly jewel. An unassuming facade hides a gorgeous historic interior. My suite (La Grande) was like walking into a movie set, absolutely beautiful. I was in love with the antiques but enjoyed a very comfortable bed and all amenities (wish I could post photos!). The neighborhood is really fantastic with so many good restaurants. Absolutely stellar experience, thank you!
Oct 13, 2024 · Heinz SchullerIt’s not a hotel and feels like you are staying in someone’s house. Price was decent and location very good. Ladies hair found in the shower and coffee maker was very dirty. I would not stay here again.
