Seems clean at first... but its in a "sketchy" area where you have to park on the street. The building is secure and armed but windows don't have screens. No towels or hand soap or conditioner. Shower curtain looks like it has blood stains.... there's an already used soap bar... cannot control the heat or a.c. and there's no tv remote. The owner is easily reached but we were not able to get a refund on the very expensive singular hotel room and had to stay. Includes a mini fridge with freezer, sink, microwave, and small bathroom. No handle on sliding glass door.

Racpanos Modern Stays Introduce

Racpanos Modern Stays, located at 294 Forrest St, Jersey City, NJ 07304, USA, with contact numbers (646) 652-7312 and +1 646-652-7312, positions itself as an accommodation option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. This establishment appears to cater to guests seeking a basic, no-frills lodging experience, likely at a more budget-friendly price point compared to traditional hotels. It's important for potential users of "Hotels Near Of Me" to understand that Racpanos Modern Stays presents a unique set of characteristics that differentiate it from conventional hotel offerings, often described as a "multi dwelling house converted into single rooms."

The environment of Racpanos Modern Stays, as described by past guests, is a significant aspect for potential visitors to consider. The location itself is frequently labeled as a "pretty rough one" or a "sketchy area," indicating that the immediate neighborhood might not be perceived as entirely safe or desirable by all travelers. Parking is exclusively "on the street," and guests are advised that they "have to find parking early if you want a space," highlighting a potential inconvenience. Despite the external environment, the building itself is noted as "secure and armed," suggesting that efforts have been made to ensure safety within the property's confines. However, issues like windows lacking screens are mentioned. The overall ambiance inside seems to lean towards a utilitarian setup, characteristic of a converted dwelling rather than a purpose-built hotel. While "seems clean at first," deeper inspection by some guests revealed concerns such as "water stains," "wallpaper peeling," and even a shower curtain with what appeared to be "blood stains," along with an "already used soap bar." These observations suggest inconsistencies in the level of cleanliness and maintenance, potentially impacting guest comfort and perception of hygiene. The lack of basic amenities like a TV remote, inability to control heat or A.C., and missing handle on a sliding glass door further contribute to a less polished environment than one might expect from a typical hotel.

When it comes to services, Racpanos Modern Stays appears to offer a very limited, self-service model. Guests are explicitly advised that they "have to provide your own food and drink" and that "complimentary coffee is not even provided." This indicates a stark departure from the full-service approach of many hotels, where amenities like complimentary breakfast or in-room coffee are standard. Critical feedback highlights a lack of essential personal care items such as "no towels or hand soap or conditioner," which are universally expected in lodging. This necessitates guests bringing their own toiletries. While the "owner is easily reached," the efficacy of this communication in resolving immediate issues, such as getting a refund for an unsatisfactory room, appears limited. One severe service failure recounted by a past customer involved a confirmed reservation that was not honored, leaving them "stuck with no room" in the middle of the night. This highlights significant issues with reservation management and a lack of accommodation for guests facing such a critical problem. The experience underscores a potentially unreliable booking system and a less guest-centric approach to problem resolution than expected in hospitality. The lack of a dresser in the room also points to limited storage for personal belongings, which could be an inconvenience for longer stays.

The features of Racpanos Modern Stays are quite basic and focused on providing fundamental living essentials within each room. Each singular room typically includes a "mini fridge with freezer, sink, microwave, and small bathroom." This setup suggests that the rooms are designed for self-sufficiency, allowing guests to store and prepare simple meals. The private bath is a key feature, ensuring personal hygiene facilities are en-suite. However, the private bathrooms themselves are noted as possibly needing "some renovating." An important feature, or rather, a lack thereof, is the absence of a television and remote control, meaning no in-room entertainment. Furthermore, the inability to control the in-room heating or air conditioning can be a significant comfort issue, especially during extreme weather conditions. The fact that "windows don't have screens" could also be a concern for comfort and insect control. Privacy was an initial concern due to "no curtains or blinds up to the windows" in some rooms, although this was rectified for at least one guest the next day. The security of the building, described as "secure and armed," is a feature intended to reassure guests, particularly given the neighborhood context. The rooms are described as "spacious and clean" by one reviewer, although this is contradicted by others regarding general cleanliness and maintenance issues.

Given the nature of Racpanos Modern Stays, promotional information would likely focus on its affordability and basic self-catering capabilities. For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" who are strictly budget-conscious and prioritize price over amenities and location comfort, this establishment might be positioned as a no-frills option. Potential promotions could include:

  • Long-Term Stay Discounts: Attracting guests who need extended accommodation at a low weekly or monthly rate, given the mini-fridge and microwave features.
  • Budget-Friendly Getaways: Targeting travelers who are primarily looking for a place to sleep and are willing to forgo standard hotel amenities to save money.
  • Basic Essentials Provided: If they ever decide to include basic toiletries and towels, this could be a point. Currently, the lack of these items means such a promotion is not applicable.
  • Convenience for Certain Local Workers/Students: Potentially appealing to individuals needing temporary housing near specific local institutions or workplaces, assuming they are comfortable with the neighborhood.
However, based on the provided reviews, any promotional material would need to be very transparent about the limited services and potential environmental concerns. The severe issues highlighted, such as the confirmed reservation not being honored and the general state of maintenance, present significant challenges for any positive promotional efforts. It is crucial for Racpanos Modern Stays to manage expectations by clearly articulating what is, and is not, included in a stay, to avoid disappointment. The objective reality presented by customer feedback suggests that promotional efforts might be challenging without significant internal improvements to guest experience and facility upkeep. The emphasis on being "Modern Stays" appears to be at odds with the description of aged facilities and lack of modern conveniences like controllable AC or TV remotes.

In summary, Racpanos Modern Stays in Jersey City presents itself as a very basic, potentially budget-friendly lodging option for users on "Hotels Near Of Me." Its environment is characterized by a "sketchy" neighborhood with street parking, contrasted by a secure building. Services are minimal, requiring guests to bring their own toiletries and food, and past experiences indicate significant issues with reservation reliability and responsiveness to guest needs. Features include private baths, mini-fridges, and microwaves, catering to self-sufficient stays, but lack common hotel amenities like TVs or temperature control. Promotional efforts would need to be very clear about its no-frills nature and may face challenges given the critical feedback on cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. For travelers prioritizing extreme budget savings above all else and who are prepared for a very independent and potentially challenging stay, it might be an option. However, the consistent negative feedback regarding fundamental aspects of hospitality strongly advises potential guests to consider their expectations carefully before booking.

We reserved the Queen room which had a private bath. The bathroom could use some renovating and there were no curtains or blinds up to the windows so privacy was nil. That issue was rectified the next day. The room was spacious and clean but there was no dresser, no television and you have to provide your own food and drink. Complimentary coffee is not even provided. The neighborhood is a pretty rough one, a lot going on outside and you have to find parking early if you want a space. I don't advise staying there, but if you have nowhere better to stay then take the chance. It's actually a multi dwelling house converted into single rooms. One important tip: When booking, make certain that you actually have reservations before you go there because if you don't, you really won't have anywhere to stay. It happened to us the second time we visited J.C. and in the middle of the night we were stuck with no room although we had a confirmation of our reservation, and they refused to accommodate us. We'll never stay there again.

- 10 Not even if it was free should you stay here. The neighborhood is IN THE HOOD. When I stayed people in the building were fighting and the police was called at 3am. Fights every night in the apartment above. Landlord would not address issues like door, TV and wifi codes not working. Once he has your money the careing stops. DONT STAY HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ⚠️

3 stars only because the owner or management was slow to respond to our request of turning up the heat since its controlled remotely...The place was clean and spacious but that was a sore spot of our stay...We are from the south and its winter in jersey. It's not a good look to have the room only 15 degrees hotter than outside when its 40 degrees on the forecast...

Charged $197.54 in "taxes and fees" with no special accommodations. Manager claims fees were for "water and energy" - unheard of! Especially being that I've booked rooms here previously and was never charged such fees. Opened a case with Expedia who is currently investigating these charges to give me an exact breakdown of the fees I was charged. Unfortunately, the only immediate courtesy they could extend was a $100 coupon, which is better than nothing. Much better than what the manager here (Joseph) offered, I attempted to contact him multiple times without an answer.
