Made a reservation a week before and paid IN FULL at the time of booking. Just to get there after 9pm to check in for our long awaited weekend trip, and they overbooked. not a single courtesy call even though we not only booked in advance but paid in advance. Just to have wait up to 12 days for a refund and find last minute reservations somewhere else because they are so incredibly useless at running a hotel that they cant even manage to hold rooms for people who have already paid. Honestly I would suggest finding a comfortable bench, or cardboard box in an alleyway to sleep in before coming here, he knows the customer service might be better, plus you won't be screwed over.
For us Illinois residents, the hotel options in the Schaumburg area are plentiful, but not all are created equal. When planning a weekend trip, a business visit, or an overnight stay for a special event, it's crucial to find a place that is reliable and provides a positive experience. The Radisson Hotel Schaumburg, located at 1550 N Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60195, USA, is a hotel that has been a part of the local landscape for years. While it offers many of the standard amenities one would expect, recent reviews suggest that potential guests should manage their expectations carefully. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and its offerings and service quality can vary. This article aims to provide a clear, factual overview based on public information and recent guest experiences, so that you can make an informed decision about your stay.
The hotel is noted for a comfortable bed and for having friendly staff, but these positives are frequently overshadowed by significant issues reported by guests. The most common complaints revolve around overbooking, cleanliness, and a lack of organization. One reviewer had a pre-paid reservation but arrived to find the hotel was overbooked, with no courtesy call to inform them of the issue. Other guests have reported rooms that were not properly cleaned, with dirty surfaces and stained bedding, and a general feeling of disarray. The hotel has been described as "in deep disrepair" and in need of updating, with a lobby that is "disjointed and filthy." Additionally, there have been numerous reports of advertised amenities, such as a full breakfast or a shuttle service, being unavailable or unorganized. For example, a "ParkFlySave" package was purchased, only for the shuttle to be "overbooked" and the family forced to find their own transportation. The hotel's staff has also received mixed reviews, with some guests praising their kindness and professionalism, while others have found them unhelpful.
The Radisson Hotel Schaumburg's location is a significant point of consideration for locals. Situated at 1550 N Roselle Rd, it offers convenient access to major thoroughfares in the Northwest suburbs. Its location off I-90 and I-290 makes it a manageable drive from many parts of Illinois. For those flying, the hotel is approximately 10 to 16 miles from O'Hare International Airport (ORD), which is a key benefit. The hotel also advertises a shuttle service, though recent reviews indicate this service is unreliable, which is an important consideration for travelers who are not driving their own vehicle. For local travelers, the hotel is also in a great spot for exploring the area's popular attractions. It's just a short drive—a little over a mile—from major attractions like Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament and the world-famous Woodfield Mall. The Schaumburg Convention Center is also nearby, making the hotel a potential choice for business travelers, provided they are aware of the operational issues reported by other guests.
The hotel is in a quiet suburban village, but is still close to a variety of restaurants and other businesses. This blend of tranquility and convenience makes it an attractive location for many. However, due to the reported disorganization and lack of amenities, it's best for locals to call ahead and confirm the availability of any specific services they plan on using.
Based on available public data, the Radisson Hotel Schaumburg offers a range of services, though the availability and quality of these services have been questioned by recent guests.
The hotel has several features that, if fully operational, would make it a strong choice.

For us Illinois locals, the Radisson Hotel Schaumburg is a hotel that needs to be approached with a cautious perspective. While it boasts a great location and a list of promising amenities, recent guest experiences paint a picture of operational and maintenance problems. It’s a place that could work for a quick, no-frills overnight stay if you're primarily concerned with a comfortable bed and a good price, but it may not be suitable for a romantic getaway or a family trip where specific amenities are a priority. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which could potentially improve the situation, but based on recent public data, it appears to be a chaotic and unhygienic environment at the moment. We recommend that locals "look elsewhere" or, if a stay is necessary, to verify everything in advance and prepare for a potentially different experience than what is advertised.

Jul 26, 2025 · Jubilee GeorgeI would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. While check-in was initially smooth, the condition of our room was completely unacceptable. It appeared as though only the bed linens had been changed—everything else was visibly dirty and unkempt. We also paid for the ParkFlySave package, only to be told the shuttle was “overbooked,” forcing us to arrange and pay for our own transportation. We weren’t the only ones affected—multiple families were turned away because the hotel staff “couldn’t find their reservations.” One family arrived to find someone else already occupying their assigned room, and another reported blood-stained bedding. The staff provided poor customer service throughout. One man repeatedly went behind the front desk but offered no assistance—opting instead to return to the slot machines in the lobby. The entire experience felt chaotic, disorganized, and unhygienic. This was not only disappointing but completely unprofessional. I will never stay here again, and I highly recommend others look elsewhere.
Aug 02, 2025 · Alexandria RiemerFirst off. When making a RESERVATION. That should save the room, right? Reserved a room with 1 King bed. Arrive and am told by the front desk staff (that needs a bath or deodorant badly) that they only have rooms with 2 beds left. I guess you need to Google what a reservation is. Get in the room. Shampoo is barely there. No body wash (obviously is wasn't all used by desk staff) Vent in bathroom likely hasn't been cleaned in years. Go to grab a shower in the morning. Ready to jump in when I realize I didn't grab a washcloth... because there isn't one. And only 1 bath towel. Drain is slow. Buy some drain cleaner. So I used a hand towel as a washcloth, had 1 towel to dry with and hope my office never books me here again.
Jul 24, 2025 · Erik LunaWe stayed July 2025 and were very disappointed with our stay. We went for our anniversary weekend and picked the hotel for the location and the pool that they advertised. The room was 5/10 clean blankets were stained and the floors were in need of cleaning. The breakfast that was offered was non existent. They offered nutty bars and sausage patties. The pool was actually green and unusable. Definitely won’t be back to this location.
Jul 27, 2025 · Misty MastersonDear Pravi, You were extremely helpful and had a very pleasant interaction. The room was so clean and had very comfy beds. Cannot thank Pravi enough for her fantastic hospitality and helpfulness during our stay. We used the shuttle and she was able to organize our shuttle transportation perfectly. Along with answering all questions we had. Thank you again!!
