My grandson and booked two rooms- The motel is not fancy but good enough for a one or two night stay. In the morning when I got up, I went to take my medicine and a roach was crawling on the rim of my glass. I went to get a tissue to kill it and when I came back the roach was gone. A few minutes later my grandson came other to my room and I told him about the roach. He was looking around for it when he saw it crawling on the phone. He killed it and took it to the office and ask them what they were going to about it. The person at the desk told they would give us credit but we would have to leave the Motel or they would give us two new rooms. I have never heard of Motel making customer feel like they had done something wrong because the customer found bugs in their room. One thing is for sure we will never stay at this Motel again or ant of the other one’s own by these people as it is our understanding that they own other establishments. We did take the two new rooms and they were worse the ones we had been in.

However, some recurring themes in customer feedback indicate areas where the guest experience may fall short for some individuals. Cleanliness is an aspect that has drawn varied comments. Some guests have reported issues such as finding used items (e.g., washcloths) in rooms, dirty floors, or concerns about the cleanliness of specific items like ice buckets. A particular concern highlighted in the provided reviews was the presence of pests, specifically a roach in a guest's room. While the hotel staff reportedly offered a credit or new rooms in response to this issue, the initial experience and the perception of the hotel's handling of the situation were negatively received by the affected guest, leading to a strong statement about not returning.
Comfort of the beds and Wi-Fi connection strength have also been mentioned as areas that could be improved by some guests. The rooms are generally described as "not fancy but good enough for a one or two night stay," which aligns with the hotel's budget-friendly positioning. The overall consensus from some reviews suggests that while the price and location are strong points, guests should set their expectations accordingly regarding the level of comfort and detailed cleanliness, especially when compared to higher-priced accommodations. The staff interaction, as per one review, can sometimes leave a customer feeling as though they were at fault for reporting issues, which is an aspect the management might consider addressing. Despite these points, other reviews generally rate the staff and location quite positively.
In summary, for local users seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Hershey area, the Red Roof Inn Hershey offers a practical and cost-effective solution with a desirable location. While it provides essential services like free Wi-Fi, parking, and a pet-friendly environment, prospective guests should be aware of past customer experiences concerning room cleanliness and comfort, and weigh these against the attractive pricing and convenience.

Mar 09, 2025 · Linda ThompsonStayed at the red roof inn for 2 nights while we visited Hershey Park. Location and price were the driving factors of booking at red roof, but if we were to visit again, I’d book elsewhere and spend more. The room didn’t seem like it was thoroughly cleaned. There was a used washcloth left in the bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, and the Wi-Fi connection was weak. The floor was dirty and the ice bucket lid was disgusting (something was caked into it, I don’t even want to know what it was). We didn’t mind the room too much only because we spent so much time out, but I would not recommend.
May 04, 2025 · Kami OlexikI regret staying here and won’t make that choice again. I’ll start with a few positives: the WiFi was great—no password needed, it connected instantly, and the signal was very strong. Connecting was a breeze. Also, the staff were friendly and helpful. Now for the downsides. This place is managed by the Best Western next door, and you can definitely tell. As a guest here, you’re treated like a second-class customer. The hotel has amenities like a pool and breakfast, but you're not allowed to use them. One day, we returned to our room around 3:45 PM, only to find it hadn’t been cleaned. I thought it was an oversight, so I went over to let the staff know before they left for the day. I was told they don’t clean the rooms daily, which was frustrating. But by far the worst issue—cockroaches! See the pictures for proof. The Red Roof is just a building with rooms, no staff, entirely managed by Best Western. I’ll be sharing this review on their site as well.
Oct 14, 2024 · Frank MFilthy. I called and asked for clean sheets and was told “It’s a motel, what do you expect.” Floors were disgusting and sticky. Walls had crap all over them. Clumps of animal hair all over. My 13 year old had dirty TOE NAIL CLIPPINGS in her bed 🤢
Feb 02, 2025 · Mallory HahnPlace is trash. Service is awful. Carpeting and hallways are gross. It's a motel look and vibe with a hotel name on it.
