Ok, so im not a hotel rating pro here. The beds are extra firm, I love that. Its down the road from amazing pub food. This is the hotel my family uses because its prices are reasonable (dont forget your AAA discount), they are pet friendly, usually have rooms available and they are by far the cleanest in the area. We hunt out here and its convenient to have a place to rest your head after a long trip or long day afield. This is a "personal" 5 star rating because it checks all the things on MY list of needs for a quick rest. To give them lower stars might be fair, but not from me

Apr 26, 2025 · Ryan GStopped here on a long drive at around 11:30 PM. Gentleman at the counter was very helpful and accommodating and got us in a room quickly. Very safe feeling location right off the highway with all of the stops you would need. Pet friendly, quiet, and very clean rooms and amenities. Would definitely recommend.
Apr 03, 2025 · Parker HoltMy boyfriend and I stayed here for one night last month. Staff wasn't the friendliest, stairwells were dark and sketchy and smelled like cigarettes BUT the rooms were very modern and comfortable, and not carpeted, which is a plus for me as hotel/motel carpeting is usually disgusting. Price was good, location was fine, would definitely stay here again :)
Mar 26, 2025 · LeighI'm giving this Red Roof Inn 5 stars for what it is. Not a luxury hotel, but we were traveling from Iowa to Massachusetts and stopped here at 1 in the morning on our way through. We just needed a place to sleep before completing our trip. Just off the highway, Rt 90, NY state thruway, so easy off and back on. The room was clean, quite big, comfy beds and pillows (!), small fridge, microwave, good shower pressure. Typical small hotel breakfast offerings and friendly staff. If I was in this area for an extended stay I would be very comfortable staying here.
Dec 28, 2024 · Jane LyonsEDIT: Given the hotel's response, I have to say: While I appreciate the hotel responding, it was insubstantial, asked to blindly trust them, and ignored the issue that prompted me to review: the way the hotel treated a third party. We were all frustrated, but taking it out on a third party who had no part in the earlier communication issues is just beyond the pale. A substantial response would include: 1) an apology explicitly for the behavior of their representative of their hotel, not weather or traffic issues, but for getting combative with us and VERBALL ABUSING A THIRD PARTY helping us. 2) Transparency on "appropriate" measures taken. I.e., a reprimand of that employee, retraining, and possibly a referral to anger management for VERBALLY ABUSING A THIRD PARTY. Heck, for all I know, that very same employee is the one writing the response. Blind trust isn't happening. 3) The offending employee apologizing directly to the representative who he VERBALLY ABUSED. A refund would be a cherry on top, but as I said in the last review, I'd understand "no, sorry, outside our cancellation window." Life happens, and sometimes it sucks. But cussing out a third party, verbally abusing her — that is unacceptable. That is what prompted me to not just grumble about how crappy this hotel treated us in suggesting we were liars to my husband but to also post a review. Thus the response provided by the hotel does not even acknowledge the heart of the issue: that their employee cussed out a third party. They treated us poorly, but they treated her even worse. So no, I'm not considering staying there again, not with zero substance - or even acknowledgement of my actual issue - in their response, because I have thus been given zero reason to believe any substantive change has been made. ----- ORIGINAL REVIEW ----- Had to post screenshots on the listing images as I can't add them here, but this hotel refused to believe there were weather issues, resulting in a public safety alert, about dangerous weather while we were trying to travel here. Not only was the public safety alert very real, but many of the roads on my family's way to the hotel had accidents involving all lanes blocked as of when we reached out to the hotel (screenshots from a quick 511ny search for "proof" we aren't just the liars the hotel - or at least the guy working on 2/17 around 7:30 p.m. seemed to think). This hotel, or at least the man who my husband and the hotels.com customer service reps were unfortunate enough to have to deal with, insisted we should be just fine traveling to stay there despite the public safety alert via the emergency messaging system and the 2-3 FEET of incoming snow. We were still hours away from the hotel when these alerts came in. Now, it was hard to communicate. We were on the road with sometimes weak signal and, having booked through a third party, had to play telephone with them. It didn't help that my husband, who had been driving, used the wrong term for what was going on, but the circumstances were far from the "nothing" the hotel said they found. And their reaction was...horrendous. It would be one thing if they said "sorry, guys, outside the cancellation window so we're charging you anyways." But the guy answering the hotel phone not only got downright combative about whether or not we were telling the truth about alerts I'm shocked he didn't receive himself but also cursed out one of the third party customer service reps trying to to help us. Uncalled for. Unprofessional. Unacceptable. She had nothing to do with the issue, and she hadn't been involved in previous attempts to communicate either. There are plenty of ways of saying no to a cancellation call that don't involved cussing out a third party. And nothing but a bad reputation to be gained from doing so. (Not posted but available are also my screenshots of the weather alert from a national weather service which includes a map of the area under the alert, which includes this hotel.)
