Was easy to find right off the thruway. When I checked in the desk agent seemed miserable and didn't smile. The room at first glance seemed okay but apon further inspection there was toothpaste on the bathroom counter, sticky stains on the nightstand, some sorta liquid splatter on the headboard, food on the bathroom wall by the trash can and a dirty black handprint on the wall.
This comprehensive introduction focuses on the Rodeway Inn, a motel situated at 2709 Erie Dr, Weedsport, NY 13166, USA. For local users and travelers searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, it is crucial to have a detailed understanding of an establishment's environment, services, features, and any pertinent promotional information. This objective review will integrate all available data, including direct customer testimonials, to present a complete and balanced picture of this property.
The Rodeway Inn is located at 2709 Erie Drive in Weedsport, New York. Weedsport is a village in Cayuga County, known for its proximity to major transportation routes, particularly the New York State Thruway (I-90). The reviews confirm its convenient placement, noting it "Was easy to find right off the thruway." This accessibility is a primary factor for individuals utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, especially for those seeking a convenient overnight stop during travel or after attending local events like concerts. The address indicates a location that prioritizes ease of access for travelers, making it suitable for quick stops rather than extended leisure. The provided contact numbers, (315) 834-6623 and mobile phone +1 315-834-6623, ensure direct lines of communication for reservations or inquiries, which are standard and essential for any motel operation.
When evaluating the environment of the Rodeway Inn, customer reviews provide extremely critical insights that diverge significantly from typical guest expectations. While a motel environment is often understood to be basic, cleanliness is universally expected. However, the reviews paint a disturbing picture. One guest observed, "at first glance seemed okay but apon further inspection there was toothpaste on the bathroom counter, sticky stains on the nightstand, some sorta liquid splatter on the headboard, food on the bathroom wall by the trash can and a dirty black handprint on the wall." This indicates a severe lack of thorough cleaning. Another review reinforces this, stating, "it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, although the property claims to be smoke free." This points to a failure in maintaining the advertised smoke-free policy. Furthermore, "The bed was made but sheets had crumbs on them as if someone had been eating in the bed, floors dirty and had visible wrappers, a candy stuck to the floor and cigarette ash on the floor beside the bed." The bathroom was also described as "obviously not cleaned well." The most alarming detail regarding the environment is the staff's admission that they weren't sure if the bedsheets had been washed, implying a potentially unsanitary sleeping environment. These accounts collectively indicate an environment that is significantly compromised in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to stated policies, leading guests to feel "uncomfortable and dirty all night." For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," this information is critical, as it directly addresses the fundamental comfort and health aspects of a stay.
The services offered at the Rodeway Inn, as described by guests, also reveal considerable inconsistencies and deficiencies. While one front desk agent was "pleasant" and "agreed to come vacuum and change the sheets," this positive interaction was an exception rather than the norm. The initial check-in experience was marred by a "miserable" desk agent "didn't smile." More concerningly, the service provided for addressing the severe cleanliness issues was inadequate. Despite the promise to vacuum, it "never did get the room vacuumed." The most disturbing service failure is the admission by the staff member changing the sheets that he wasn't sure if they had been washed, which points to a critical lapse in basic housekeeping protocols. Furthermore, attempts to voice concerns with other staff members were met with difficulty: "staff has been very difficult to deal with when trying to voice concerns." This indicates a systemic issue with staff responsiveness and willingness to rectify problems, leaving guests feeling unheard and dissatisfied. While a motel might offer basic services like front desk assistance, the quality and effectiveness of these services at Rodeway Inn appear to be significantly compromised, failing to meet even minimal guest expectations for problem resolution and professional conduct.
Regarding the features of the Rodeway Inn, the reviews primarily focus on the negative aspects related to cleanliness rather than any specific amenities. Typical motel features include a basic room setup with a bed, a private bathroom, and perhaps a television and climate control. The reviews imply that these basic features, particularly the bed and bathroom, were compromised by a lack of proper cleaning. The non-smoking policy, which is a feature, was also not effectively enforced, as evidenced by the strong cigarette smoke smell and ash in the room. The mention of "sheets had crumbs on them" and "sticky stains on the nightstand" indicates that even the most fundamental features (bed, bedside table) were not in a clean and usable state. While specific features like Wi-Fi, breakfast, or a pool are not mentioned, the overwhelming focus on the unsatisfactory state of the core room features overshadows any potential positive amenities. For a motel, basic comfort and hygiene are the most important "features," and based on the reviews, these appear to be severely lacking. Therefore, the features of the Rodeway Inn, particularly those related to the in-room experience, are described as being in a state that does not promote guest comfort or satisfaction.
As for promotional information, without any explicit details for the Rodeway Inn, we can only infer potential strategies based on common practices within the budget motel segment of the hospitality industry. Given its location "right off the thruway," the hotel likely targets travelers seeking an affordable and convenient overnight stop. Promotions might focus on competitive pricing, possibly offering discounts for longer stays or loyalty programs if it is part of a larger chain (Rodeway Inn is part of Choice Hotels, which has a loyalty program). The convenience for concert-goers or those just passing through Weedsport would be a key selling point in promotional materials. However, any promotional efforts would need to be weighed against the severe negative customer feedback regarding cleanliness and service. While a low price might attract initial bookings for users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," the described conditions could lead to extremely negative experiences and discourage repeat business or positive word-of-mouth. Therefore, while the hotel might promote itself on affordability and location, potential guests should consider the significant reported drawbacks regarding the fundamental quality of the stay. The reviews suggest that the hotel's actual value proposition, despite any potential low pricing, is severely diminished by its operational shortcomings.
In conclusion, for local users and travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Weedsport, NY, and considering the Rodeway Inn at 2709 Erie Dr, Weedsport, NY 13166, USA, it is crucial to approach with caution and full awareness of the detailed customer reviews. While its location directly off the Thruway is undeniably convenient for stopovers, the hotel is plagued by severe cleanliness issues, including dirty rooms, unwashed sheets, and the presence of cigarette smoke despite being advertised as smoke-free. Furthermore, staff responsiveness and problem-solving, with one notable exception, appear to be poor. The fundamental features of the room, particularly related to hygiene, are described as unacceptable. Any potential promotional information, likely centered on affordability and location, must be carefully considered against these significant reported deficiencies. This objective overview aims to provide a transparent assessment, enabling informed decisions for anyone looking for a hotel in the Weedsport area, highlighting that while it may be easy to find, the quality of the stay appears to be a significant concern.

Mar 01, 2025 · Jolene McCauslinWas looking for somewhere to stay the night after a concert nearby. Wasn’t expecting much as this was a motel stay. With this being said, cleanliness is something we will never settle on. Upon arrival to the room, it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, although the property claims to be smoke free. We then noticed that it appeared that the room had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. The bed was made but sheets had crumbs on them as if someone had been eating in the bed, floors dirty and had visible wrappers, a candy stuck to the floor and cigarette ash on the floor beside the bed when again, the property claims smoke free. The bathroom was obviously not cleaned well. We called the front desk and the guy agreed to come vacuum and change the sheets - he was pleasant. The same front desk guy was the one to come change the bedsheets for us. While he was changing the sheets he stated that their regular housekeeper was off today so someone else had cleaned the room, and he agreed he wasn’t sure if the bedsheets had been washed as they appeared dirty - disturbing to think if we had not noticed. We never did get the room vacuumed. We did not have a comfortable sleep and both felt uncomfortable and dirty all night. I travel frequently and am great at keeping expectations in check but this was out of control. Other than the first man we dealt with, staff has been very difficult to deal with when trying to voice concerns.
Sep 15, 2024 · Sierra CaprielleI don’t know where to start with this but this was the WORST motel I’ve ever stayed in in my life. Absolute nightmare. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!!! When I originally called to book a room the front desk lady on the phone refused to send me an Email confirmation and started screaming at me saying her Email wasn’t working and she’s going to cancel my room if I ask her for it again and hung up on me.. this sketched me out so I thought I may have been scammed. My friend called after me and spoke to a man who was able to send her an email confirmation, I cancelled my entire debit card because I was afraid I was scammed. My friend then booked another room for me. I got this motel with a bunch of my friends (3 rooms) for a concert we were going to at Kegs on 10/12/24. When arriving The Indian lady at the front desk was insanely rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and unaccommodating. My friend had a room right next to these creepy men clearly on drugs hanging out outside/in the rooms nearby, she requested a room change and even though the lady had a room she refused to change and said these men were “harmless” meanwhile they were making flirty comments to us, staring, and yelling. We had no where else to stay so we stayed here but would have been better off sleeping in our cars. When entering the room it was very stinky, musty smelling, and smelled like smoke. It looked like it had not been cleaned at all. Not only was it disgusting but unsafe as well, my room had a broken lock on the door and the window would not shut/lock (someone could have climbed inside in the night while I’m asleep)… there was hair all over the bed sheets, brown stains all over the bed sheets, no TV remote, dirty mirrors, and bathroom had broken hair dryer, hair in bathtub, brown stains on towels, and used towel left in the shower. I checked for bed bugs and did not see any but woke up with several bites that resemble bed bugs on my stomach. I am still terrified I might have brought bed bugs to my home especially after reading that this place is infested with bed bugs. Luckily none of my friends had bites or concerns so I hope I am just being paranoid. Outside of our rooms there were also what looked like tubes/needles from drug use on the ground and opioid overdose kits on the walls. Between the very rude staff, filthy rooms, bugs, creepy men living there, etc. I have never had such a terrible experience staying somewhere in my life. Oh and I paid $130/night for a room, absolutely insane. This place needs to be reported to the state health department and shut down ASAP!!!
Oct 18, 2024 · Ashley TollnerWe stayed for one night while my husband was riding the Erie Canal trail. The staff was very nice and let me check in early which was incredibly helpful to me. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. My only issue was the smell of the cleaning detergent which was too perfumy for personal taste. I wished I could have opened a window for fresh air but it was too hot. The location was great. Walking distance to restaurants. Highly recommend
Sep 03, 2024 · Lisa FWe arrived at about midnight after unexpectedly needing overnight accommodations. It was difficult to find rooms in the area (concert in the area??). We found a perfectly clean, comfortable room, comfortable bed and all the basic amenities for a short overnight stay. The price was exceptionally reasonable. There is a complimentary breakfast (though we needed sleep so we slept thru it). It was a lovely overnight, short stay. Roadway Inns can vary so we were definitely a bit leary checking in but were pleasantly surprised!
