My family loved this hotel. We went for 2 nights and celebrated my youngest childs 3rd Birthday. She enjoyed herself and so did my older children. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good honestly & we've decided that we'll return soon!
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the bustling South Jersey area, specifically in Mt. Laurel Township, the Residence Inn Mt. Laurel at Bishop's Gate presents itself as a notable option, particularly for those seeking extended stays or more spacious accommodations. The Residence Inn Mt. Laurel at Bishop's Gate is situated in a convenient suburban setting within Mt. Laurel Township, a vibrant area known for its business parks, shopping centers, and easy access to major highways. The address, 1000 Sunburst Ln, places it in a relatively quiet area, yet it remains well-connected to the surrounding region. Its proximity to routes like I-295 and the New Jersey Turnpike makes it an accessible choice for travelers commuting to Philadelphia, which is roughly 20-30 minutes away by car, or to other parts of South Jersey. The hotel's location in Bishop's Gate suggests a more established commercial area, providing a sense of stability and access to local amenities. Within a short driving distance, guests can find a variety of dining options, from casual eateries to more upscale restaurants, as well as shopping malls and entertainment venues. While not in a bustling downtown, its suburban environment offers a balance of tranquility and accessibility, appealing to guests who prefer a quieter base with easy reach to urban centers.
As a Residence Inn property, this hotel is specifically tailored for extended stays, meaning it offers a range of services and amenities designed to make longer visits comfortable and convenient. A key feature is the complimentary daily breakfast, which typically includes a variety of hot and cold options, allowing guests to start their day without an extra expense. This is a significant draw for many travelers, especially families and those on a budget. The hotel also commonly hosts evening socials or "The Residence Inn Mix" on select weeknights, providing complimentary food and beverages, an opportunity for guests to socialize and unwind.
For guests focused on health and wellness, the Residence Inn Mt. Laurel typically includes an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. The fitness center is usually equipped with cardio machines and weights, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines. The indoor pool offers a year-round option for relaxation or exercise. The hotel also provides complimentary high-speed internet access (Wi-Fi) throughout the property, which is essential for both business and leisure travelers. Laundry facilities, often self-service, are usually available, which is particularly beneficial for extended-stay guests. For those traveling with pets, Residence Inn properties are generally pet-friendly, though specific policies and fees should always be confirmed directly with the hotel (phone: (856) 234-1025 or +1 856-234-1025). Other services may include grocery delivery service, a 24-hour market for snacks and essentials, and business services like fax and copy facilities.
The hallmark of a Residence Inn is its suite-style accommodations. The Residence Inn Mt. Laurel at Bishop's Gate typically offers spacious suites rather than standard hotel rooms. These suites are designed to feel like apartments, providing separate living, sleeping, and dining areas. A critical feature of all suites is the fully equipped kitchen, which includes a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher, and all necessary cookware and tableware. This allows guests to prepare their own meals, offering significant savings and convenience, especially during longer stays. Room types usually vary, including studio suites, one-bedroom suites, and sometimes two-bedroom suites, catering to different group sizes and needs. Each suite is typically furnished with comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen TV with premium channels, and a private bathroom. The design often aims for a warm, residential feel. However, as evidenced by customer reviews, the quality of sofa beds and the availability of linens can be a point of concern. One customer experienced significant issues: "We were told we were getting 3 double beds rooms. Upon arrival we found we had 1 bed and 1 sofa bed per room, which would have been ok if we at least had linens. The front desk provided us with wet sheets and they had no pillows. We had to go with the front desk attendant to grab pillows from another room empty room. After an exhausting day we just wanted to relax and sleep, instead we had to be up and down bringing linens, pillows and towels from the front desk to the rooms. The mattresses in the couch beds were very dirty and extremely thin, we felt we were getting free acupuncture the whole night. Needless to say we did not sleep, the mattresses were disgusting. The hotel staff was not accommodating and even rude. I’ve been in many Marriot hotels due to work, this has been by far the worst experience I’ve had in any US hotel. This was not at all a Bonvoy experience. We could have stayed in a Motel and I’m sure it would have been better." This highly negative experience, particularly regarding bedding, cleanliness, and staff accommodation, highlights areas where the hotel may not consistently meet expectations or Marriott Bonvoy standards. In contrast, another review states, "My family loved this hotel. We went for 2 nights and celebrated my youngest childs 3rd Birthday. She enjoyed herself and so did my older children. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good honestly & we've decided that we'll return soon!" This stark contrast indicates a potential variability in guest experiences, with some guests finding it very satisfactory for family stays, especially appreciating the breakfast.
For those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" with an emphasis on value and comfort for longer durations, the Residence Inn Mt. Laurel at Bishop's Gate positions itself as an attractive choice. The inclusion of complimentary breakfast and fully equipped kitchens significantly reduces daily expenses, making it a cost-effective option for families or business travelers on extended assignments. The ability to earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points is also a major draw for loyalty program members. Promotions are often available through Marriott's official website or various online travel agencies, including package deals or discounts for longer stays. Given its brand, it generally appeals to those who trust the Marriott standard for service and amenities.
However, it is crucial for potential guests to consider the mixed reviews. While some guests, particularly families, have had very positive experiences, praising the breakfast and suitability for children, others have encountered significant issues related to room quality, particularly concerning sofa beds, cleanliness, and staff responsiveness. This suggests that while the hotel generally aims to provide a comfortable extended-stay experience, individual experiences can vary. It is advisable for travelers, especially those relying on sofa beds for additional sleeping arrangements, to consider these points and perhaps confirm specific room configurations and recent guest feedback before booking. Direct booking through Marriott or trusted travel sites, rather than opaque booking sites like Hotwire, might also provide more clarity on room types and a better avenue for addressing issues if they arise.
In summary, Residence Inn Mt. Laurel at Bishop's Gate offers the core benefits of the Residence Inn brand: spacious suites with kitchens, complimentary breakfast, and a pet-friendly environment. Its location is convenient for accessing South Jersey and Philadelphia. While it can provide a very pleasant and cost-effective stay for many, particularly families who appreciate the complimentary breakfast and space, potential guests should be aware of the varied guest experiences regarding room quality and service, especially concerning auxiliary bedding and staff responsiveness.

Mar 29, 2025 · sofia georgiouWonderful service from check-in to check-out. Breakfast included. Indoor pool was great for the kids. Justin and Erika were very patient with our multiple room requests and incredibly friendly with our family. Thank you we shall return.
Feb 17, 2025 · Kimberly BeattyThe staff here is great, clean rooms, great area. The service from the staff is professionally done. I give them 5 stars. Also great place to stay if you have kids.
Mar 13, 2025 · Dj HallDuring my stay on February 14, 2025 I stayed in room 132. During my sleep there was leaking occurring through two points on the ceiling, waking up to a flood of water on the floors and many of my personal items affected by this. I politely spoke to someone at the front desk about getting a refund and they refused to process it - and used the “management will be in next week if you would like to try then” line. All of this occurs after staying there a week before this and they didn’t have hot water (of which I asked to use another room, and the clerk said they would look into it, which she never did). Furthermore this hotel is dirty, dingy, and smells of food throughout the hallways.
