This hotel was booked by the company I work for. There were five black kids sitting outside our room in the hallway. The room has a strange odor to it. Beds seem to be bug free which is always a plus. The tv is barely functional. No microwave in the room or coffee maker. It's New Jersey, you can't set expectations too high. The "breakfast" area if you can even call it that is really pathetic. Only Bagels, fruit, coffee and juice. -UPDATE- Coworker found a roach in their bathroom and on elevator. Avoid this hotel and spend a little more money to stay somewhere nicer.
Super 8 by Wyndham Mount Laurel, located at 560 Fellowship Rd, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054, USA, presents itself as a value-oriented lodging option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. This hotel aims to cater to travelers seeking economical accommodation in the Mount Laurel area, offering basic amenities at a competitive price point. Its presence on such a platform suggests it targets individuals and families looking for accessible and affordable places to stay in the vicinity.
The hotel's location on Fellowship Road provides relatively easy access to major roadways in Mount Laurel, including the New Jersey Turnpike and I-295. This can be convenient for guests traveling through the region or those with business or leisure destinations in the immediate area. Nearby attractions and points of interest include the Coco Key Water Resort, Moorestown Mall, and Cherry Hill Mall, making it a potential choice for visitors exploring local entertainment and shopping opportunities. The corporate parks in Mount Laurel are also within a reasonable distance, which might appeal to budget-conscious business travelers. However, its immediate surroundings are primarily commercial, with other hotels and office buildings nearby, contributing to a functional rather than scenic environment.
The Super 8 by Wyndham brand typically focuses on providing a no-frills, practical environment for travelers. As an economy hotel, the ambiance is generally functional rather than luxurious. Recent customer feedback, however, highlights some significant concerns regarding the environment at Super 8 by Wyndham Mount Laurel. Several reviews mention a "strange odor" in rooms and the presence of smoke and weed smells, despite the hotel being designated as smoke-free. This directly impacts the perceived cleanliness and overall freshness of the environment.
Cleanliness itself is a recurring theme in negative reviews, with mentions of "stains on the bed" and "mediocre room cleanliness." One particularly alarming report noted the discovery of a roach in a bathroom and on an elevator, which points to significant issues with pest control and overall hygiene standards. The common areas, including the "breakfast" area, are described as "pathetic" and lacking in appeal, suggesting that communal spaces may not be well-maintained or inviting. These descriptions paint a picture of an environment that may not meet the basic cleanliness expectations for some guests, aligning more with a "student hostel" standard in terms of hygiene.
Super 8 by Wyndham Mount Laurel, as a budget hotel, generally offers a limited range of services and amenities, focusing on the essentials. Standard offerings typically include a 24-hour front desk, providing around-the-clock assistance for check-in and basic inquiries. Free Wi-Fi is generally advertised as available, allowing guests to stay connected during their stay.
One of the expected amenities for a Super 8 property is a complimentary breakfast. However, according to recent reviews, the breakfast offering at this specific location is described as "pathetic," consisting only of "Bagels, fruit, coffee and juice." This limited selection might not meet the expectations of guests relying on the hotel for a substantial start to their day.
Regarding in-room amenities, customer feedback indicates a lack of certain conveniences often found even in budget hotels, such as a microwave and coffee maker in the room. This means guests cannot easily prepare or reheat food or make their own beverages within their room. Televisions are present, but one review states the TV was "barely functional," suggesting potential issues with entertainment options. While specific details on other amenities like parking are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, Super 8 properties typically offer free self-parking. Pet-friendly policies are common for the brand, though it's advisable to confirm specific fees or restrictions directly with the hotel.
The staff interaction is also a point of concern based on one review, where the manager was described as "defensive" when issues were reported, leading to an immediate check-out. This suggests that the responsiveness and helpfulness of the staff might vary.
As a Super 8 by Wyndham property, its primary feature is its positioning as a budget-friendly option. This means it aims to provide very basic lodging at a lower cost compared to mid-range or upscale hotels. The essential feature is simply a place to sleep.
One reported feature is the presence of beds that "seem to be bug free," which, while a positive, highlights a concern that guests might even have about basic pest control in such establishments. This indirectly suggests that guests might have lower expectations when booking this hotel.
The hotel aims to be smoke-free, as indicated in a review, but the presence of smoke and weed odors suggests that this policy may not be strictly enforced or that lingering issues exist. The convenience of its location on Fellowship Road near major highways could be considered a feature for transient travelers. However, the overall impression from recent customer feedback points to features being less about enhanced comfort or amenities and more about simply providing a very basic, unadorned place to stay. The lack of standard amenities like microwaves and coffee makers in rooms also stands out as a missing feature for many travelers.
Super 8 by Wyndham Mount Laurel, like other Super 8 properties, typically promotes itself primarily on the basis of affordability and basic convenience. For users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" with a strong emphasis on low cost, this hotel would appear as a budget-friendly option. Promotional messaging from the brand generally highlights free Wi-Fi and a complimentary breakfast, aiming to convey value for money.
However, based on the recent customer reviews, potential guests should temper their expectations regarding the quality and breadth of these promoted features. The "pathetic" breakfast and non-functional or missing in-room amenities indicate that the actual experience might not align with typical Super 8 brand promises. The significant concerns about cleanliness, strange odors, and pest issues, as reported by recent guests, would counteract any positive promotional efforts.
When considering this hotel via a "Hotels Near Of Me" search, it is crucial for users to prioritize objective, recent customer feedback over general brand messaging. The reviews strongly suggest that while the price point might be attractive, the trade-off in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and service could be substantial. Therefore, while the hotel's promotional material would likely focus on its budget-friendly nature and basic inclusions, the reality for guests, as indicated by recent reviews, might be a more challenging stay. It is advisable for potential guests to carefully weigh the cost savings against the reported issues before booking.

May 19, 2025 · IanOur “stay” at this hotel was exceedingly bad. We checked in and checked out in all of 30 minutes. Red flag 1: stains on the bed, mediocre room cleanliness Red flag 2: smell of smoke and weed, even though the hotel calls itself smoke-free Red flag 3: minutes after we sat on the bed we started to feel itchy Deal breaker: the manager, when I reported the issues with the bed, got defensive and said “we don’t have anything that could cause an itch”. As if we were lying??? We were outta there. This hotel, especially for the price range, is an exceedingly bad deal. It feels more like a student hostel in terms of its cleanliness standards than a real hotel.
May 03, 2025 · Vinod VishwanathSo I had to come to nj for my aunts funeral and that they were the cheapest around that area. When we got there we noticed very early on that you get what you pay for. For one, we wanted have a drink, so we decided to go get ice. The machine downstairs was broken. It kept making a rumbling sound and two cubes came out that's it! We asked management about they said they just go ice of there. They said there was another one on the third floor. It wasn't working, someone had unplugged it. Then, there was an ironing board but no iron. Once, again went down stairs to ask and said they none, but we complain said we were going to put up a bad review. She found one. Also she was in pajamas. Then, the remote didn't work. We were stuck watching TMZ. The blanket on the bed was full of holes. They also put us in a handicapp accessible room. I'm not disabled. Worst hotel I ever been to period.
Mar 22, 2025 · Ron BowmanHotel Review: Super 8 I recently stayed at the Super 8, and while the location was convenient—close to several fast-food restaurants and coffee shops—the experience left much to be desired. The staff was friendly, which was expected, but the condition of the room overshadowed this positive aspect. The room was in dire need of upgrades. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, making it uncomfortable after showers. More concerning, the cleanliness was unacceptable. There were bodily fluids visibly staining the walls, carpet, and chairs (as shown in pictures). This level of hygiene made the stay deeply unpleasant. While the convenience of the location and courteous staff were positives, the state of the room was enough to ensure I would not stay here again. Cleanliness is non-negotiable, and unfortunately, this hotel did not meet basic standards.
Nov 17, 2024 · Marco MetzgerThe rooms were fine. Smelled like smoke a little. No breakfast like it stated. Only 4 apples and thats it. Overall the hotel was ok
