Beautiful rooms! I set my mom up in the Pelican Suite one year. And I've had a few girls nights in the Mardi Gras suite with the balcony. Impeccably decorated!! Each suite has its own personality. Super clean and the hosts are attentive and really do everything to make sure your stay is wonderful. Located in one of the best areas of the city. Lots of food and coffee in walking distance.

Location and Accessibility

The Brandy House is perfectly situated at 4616 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115, USA. This address places it directly on Magazine Street, one of New Orleans' most iconic and beloved thoroughfares, running through the heart of the vibrant Uptown neighborhood. This location offers a fantastic balance of local charm, extensive amenities, and convenient access to the city’s major attractions.

For Louisiana residents traveling by car, reaching Magazine Street is straightforward via New Orleans’ main roads. While specific parking details for guests should be confirmed with The Brandy House management, Magazine Street often has ample street parking available, especially in residential sections. This is a significant convenience compared to the more congested areas of the French Quarter.

If you're flying into the city, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is approximately 13-16 miles away, typically a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic. Taxis and popular ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available from the airport to transport you directly to the Uptown area.

One of the key advantages of The Brandy House's location is its exceptional walkability and access to public transportation. Magazine Street itself is renowned for being a walker's paradise, lined with an eclectic mix of local boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, charming cafes, and a vast array of highly-rated restaurants. Guests frequently praise the convenience of having "lots of food and coffee in walking distance." Furthermore, the historic St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, a quintessential New Orleans experience, is just a few blocks away. This allows for easy and charming transit to Audubon Park and Zoo, Tulane and Loyola Universities, the beautiful Garden District, the Central Business District, and with connections, even the French Quarter. The location is particularly noted for its family-friendly atmosphere and its prime spot right on parade routes during Mardi Gras, allowing guests to step out onto the street and enjoy the festivities with ease, as highlighted by a customer review. This combination of local vibrancy, walkability, and transit access makes The Brandy House an ideal base for experiencing New Orleans authentically.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a unique vacation rental managed by Epic Stork, The Brandy House typically offers value through its inclusive amenities and the flexibility of apartment-style living rather than conventional hotel promotions. It's always best to contact the owners/management directly or visit their listing on platforms like Airbnb or VRBO for the most current pricing and any specific deals. However, here are types of offers or value points you might find or inquire about:

  • Longer Stay Discounts: For stays exceeding a few nights, you can expect significantly reduced nightly rates compared to short-term bookings. This is a common feature for vacation rentals and can be very cost-effective for extended visits.
  • Seasonal Rates: Pricing often fluctuates based on New Orleans’ peak seasons (e.g., Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest) versus quieter periods. Booking during the off-season might yield lower rates.
  • Direct Booking Advantages: Sometimes, contacting the owners directly might offer a slightly better rate or added perks compared to booking through third-party platforms, as it bypasses commission fees.
  • Value-Added Amenities: While not a discount, the inclusion of a fully equipped kitchen, in-unit laundry, and family-friendly amenities effectively saves guests money on dining out, laundry services, and entertainment, representing significant value.
  • Special Event Stays: For major events like Mardi Gras, the prime location is the "special offer" itself. While rates might be higher, the convenience and unique experience of being on the parade route are invaluable for many.

Mardi Gras looks a little different as a parent. Gone are the days of staggering half awake out of bed and trying to find a spot on a route while shotgunning a beer and desperately trying to stave off the hangover that you just ✨know✨ is approaching. “Packing” used to mean trying to figure out how much alcohol I could fit in an ice chest with wheels. “My car” or “my friends couch” is not really a great option when you have two young kids. Thankfully I found The Brandy House. The house itself has the deniable New Orleans charm that drew me into the city when I was younger. The decorations are bright and funky. The floors look original as do many of the accents around the home. If those walls could talk I’m sure they would laugh and tell many a story of young people like I once was who slept on her floors between parades. But now this old home has found new purpose. The beds are soft and comfortable. The balcony has new life. There is a giant connect four on the balcony. The neighborhood has slowed and become more geared towards families. It has, in fact, become to perfect place to enjoy a weekend of parades as a family. My toddler loves the balcony (with very high and sturdy fencing) for when she gets tired of standing on the route. The furniture outside is decidedly “toddler proof”. There are games and toys and old throws in the closet that kept her entertained between parades (there is also work out equipment which is nice but always makes me laugh as I shove my bazillionth piece of king cake in my mouth). It’s still Mardi Gras. We still leave with more bags of throws than we can carry (especially because we are at the very beginning of the route for most of the parades so the crowds are very thin). But it’s calmer. More family friendly. The owners are two of the kindest and most welcoming people you could ever hope to know and are locals who live in the unit below. They are always happy to offer up recommendations of what to do in the city and always are quick to answer any texts or questions one might have. I’ve been back and forth to New Orleans multiple times since moving. This is the place that now feels like home when I go. #thebrandyhouse

Highly recommend the Brandy House! My parents stayed there for a few nights and it was perfect. It’s beautiful and in a very convenient location, walking distance to many restaurants, shops and coffee shops right on Magazine. I promise you will not be disappointed!
