We were SO looking forward to staying at the Hamilton, as we lived in the area for years and witnessed the construction of the hotel before we moved away. The exterior of the hotel is so lovely. We had high expectations. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. I’ll point out a few things- 1. Finding the valet parking and entrance was confusing due to zero signage. There is no parking in the “front” of the hotel. Plus, the valet drop off is much too small an area for multiple cars to maneuver. 2. The lobby design is just - boring. Cavernous. Very utilitarian. Doesn’t compliment the lovely exterior at all. 3. The room’s decor was just like any other mid price hotel. The sofa in the room was so uncomfortable, I don’t see why it’s even there. 4. The lighting in the room and bathroom was horrific. Way too dim. 5. This may sound silly, but - no ice? No ice bucket, no ice machine? 6. Off the lobby, there is a large, unused space with a few large booths and a few four top tables. Is this for dining? Breakfast? Meetings? Who knows? There was no breakfast buffet offered, nor was there coffee in the morning. There is a bar down a hallway that serves food, but we would have had to purchase a cup of coffee (there ARE coffee/espresso machines in the rooms). We just felt that, for the money, The Hamilton was not up to our expectations.

Customer Reviews and Objectivity

Customer reviews for The Hamilton Alpharetta present a varied picture, with both commendable aspects and areas for improvement. The hotel's exterior and its prime location in downtown Alpharetta are consistently praised, with guests appreciating the proximity to shops, restaurants, and the overall walkable environment. The food, particularly the ribeye steak at one of its dining venues, has received exceptionally positive feedback, highlighting the quality of the culinary offerings. Many guests also commend the staff, noting their professionalism, attentiveness, and friendly service.

However, some guests have expressed being "underwhelmed" by certain aspects, particularly considering the hotel's luxury branding and price point. Common criticisms include confusion regarding valet parking and the entrance due to a lack of clear signage, and a perception that the valet drop-off area is too small for multiple cars. The lobby design was described by one reviewer as "boring" and "cavernous," lacking the warmth or character expected of a boutique hotel. Room decor was also noted as being similar to a "mid-price hotel," with uncomfortable sofas and dim lighting. A notable omission for some guests was the lack of ice buckets or ice machines readily available, requiring a purchase for coffee outside of the in-room machines, and the absence of a breakfast buffet. Some guests also reported issues with room comfort, including hard beds and air conditioning problems, though these were less frequent. The cost of valet parking was a point of concern for several reviewers.

In summary, The Hamilton Alpharetta excels in its location, exterior aesthetics, and the quality of its dining, with a service-oriented staff. However, areas such as interior design (lobby and rooms), certain in-room amenities (ice availability, lighting), and the functionality of valet parking could benefit from refinement to consistently meet the high expectations set by its branding and price. Prospective guests should weigh these points to determine if the hotel aligns with their specific preferences and priorities.

Elle our server was absolutely pleasant and very knowledgeable on the menu. I had the ribeye steak. The chef had seasoned the ribeye steak to perfection. I haven’t had a steak that flavorful in years. Customer service was 110%. 10 out of 10 I recommend. Great for staycation or vacation. 🤗🫶🏾

Room was nice but there was no desk which made it awkward be ause I had to uses a small table that really barely fit the laptop. Otherwise the room and bed was very nice. Food and service was good and there are a number of meal opportunities within walking distance that are very good. Location is great, right on the main street

Stopped into The Hamilton for the first time for my brunch reservation at Carrie’s Restaurant. The hotel decor is lovely. We were warmly welcomed by front desk and restaurant staff. Food service was prompt, got, and delicious. Elle served lovely cocktails and lattes. We will definitely return.

Joseph, the bartender, was a pleasure and a delight. Great service and very personable. The rooms were VERY clean and the overall hotel was very well run. Even with two weddings and a conference going on, they were still very attentive and we were taken care of.
