Very nice hotel. The rooms were exceptional. Spacious, clean, and very co canmfortable. Staff was nice and polite. Restaurant looked good, but only had breakfast there once. It was tasty, but be careful that they automatically add a "service fee" of 20%, even if you're taking it to go. They are connected with the Marriott next door and share a coffee shop, which wasn't bad. Standard coffee joint. Would definitely stay there again next time we're in Knoxville.

Services: Personalized Luxury and Attentive Care

The service at THE TENNESSEAN Hotel aims for personalized luxury, with a focus on attentive care for each guest. While some individual experiences with front desk staff and bartenders have been noted as less than perfectly welcoming, the hotel generally strives for professional service. Valet parking, for instance, receives consistent praise, with many guests highlighting the valet team as phenomenal and a key positive aspect of their stay. This service is available on-site for a fee, including in/out privileges. The hotel also offers complimentary in-room WiFi, ensuring guests remain connected throughout their visit.

Dining at THE TENNESSEAN Hotel is a significant part of the experience. The Drawing Room is the hotel's on-site restaurant, offering American cuisine for breakfast and dinner, and is a popular spot for cocktails and light bites. Guests have noted the restaurant's quality, though some have pointed out an automatic 20% "service fee" added to bills, even for takeout, which is important to be aware of. Features: Strategic Location and Comprehensive Amenities

One of THE TENNESSEAN Hotel's most compelling features, and a key factor for its appeal in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, is its exceptional downtown Knoxville location. It is within just a 10-minute walk of major attractions such as the Knoxville Convention Center, World's Fair Park, Sunsphere Tower, and the University of Tennessee campus. This makes it an ideal base for university visits, conferences, and exploring the vibrant cultural scene of downtown Knoxville, including Market Square, the Old City, and the Bijou and Tennessee Theatres. Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena are also just a short drive away.

The hotel boasts 82 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, ranging from Classic King and Queen Rooms to more spacious Executive and Panoramic Suites. Each room comes equipped with modern amenities such as 55-inch flat-screen TVs with premium channels and streaming service capabilities (e.g., Netflix), refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, in-room safes, and comfortable workstations. While generally well-maintained, some past guests have noted minor issues like a broken in-room refrigerator or ironing board, or visible dust on the bedframe, which might be important to consider when evaluating value. However, the spaciousness, cleanliness, and comfort of the rooms are frequently highlighted by satisfied guests.

For events and meetings, THE TENNESSEAN Hotel offers extensive facilities. It provides various meeting rooms and a conference center, with access to over 17,000 sq ft of indoor meeting space at Maker Exchange and even larger connected exhibit hall space through city partnerships, along with outdoor areas. I just got back from a three night stay at The Tennesseean in Knoxville. The lobby is clean, small and cute. The front desk staff is not overly welcoming in their demeanor upon entering the hotel. On my third night, I found out the refrigerator in the room was broken so all of the leftovers that I had planned to send home with my daughter (she’s a college student) were ruined. The ironing board was broken so I had to put it on the floor to iron my shirt. The bedframe was visibly dusty/dirty. While yes, I booked this hotel through a third-party, I still paid almost $250 a night for a room that was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price. Lastly, I was looking forward to having a drink at the hotel bar with my daughter at the end of our first night, but the bar at the linked hotel was full of kids and thus not appealing, which was disappointing because it was a very cool looking bar. When we tried the bar in our hotel, we were met by an unhappy bartender who had left a big cardboard box sitting on the bar and did not seem to want to deal with any customers at all. Location of the hotel is great though, but would not stay there again, esp for the price. P.S. I just looked at other reviews and noticed someone commented on the valet people. I agree and meant to mention that the valet guys were phenomenal and were also the best part of my stay!

A Luxurious Stay with a Small Drawback – 4 Stars As Knoxville locals, we booked a stay at The Tennessean Hotel because of its convenient location near The Mill & Mine, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. The hotel exudes elegance, and the complimentary car service was a huge perk, making it easy to explore the area without worrying about parking. Our room was swanky and well-appointed, with gorgeous local artwork, a Nespresso machine for the perfect morning coffee, and a special touch—locally made chocolates on the bed that made us feel extra pampered. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the space felt luxurious yet cozy. The staff was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth and enjoyable. We also loved the coffee shop on the bottom level, which served delicious, locally sourced brews that made for the perfect morning pick-me-up. The only downside was that we noticed some mold in the shower, which was disappointing given the otherwise pristine and upscale feel of the hotel. It didn’t ruin our stay, but it’s something that should be addressed for future guests especially for a $300+ price tag. Despite this small issue, we would still recommend The Tennessean for its luxury, convenience, and warm hospitality. With a little more attention to detail in the bathrooms, this would be an easy 5-star experience!

My experience here was decidedly mixed. The front desk staff were VERY helpful and patient when I had an issue, and that experience couldn't have been better, and overall the room was quite nice. But the "city view" seems to consistently be of the concrete building across the street, and in my case the breakfast wait staff actively tried to cheat me. I happened to calculate what my bill should have been before signing, and then asked for more details, only to discover a secret 20% tip had been added BEFORE I tipped and without telling me, and when I got a long list of explanations about it being on the menu (it wasn't) or it being how they were trained (more concerning) I was left with the impression that this was standard practice. And unfortunately that one experience really detracted from the whole for me greatly.

I was in Knoxville last week and went all out with the Governor's Suite at The Tennessean. It was such a great experience- a 5 star experience across the board, from service to location. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the bathroom touches were well thought out, and the sunset view was gorgeous. Don't miss drinks in The Drawing Room! The French 75 and Old Fashioned were fantastic.
