Absolutely Horrendous – This Hotel Should Be Shut Down Immediately! This so-called “hotel” is nothing more than a hazardous construction site disguised as a place of lodging. It is beyond comprehension how management has the audacity to keep this establishment open while it is in the middle of a full-blown renovation. From 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, guests are bombarded with the deafening sounds of construction—drilling, hammering, and shouting workers—all while trying to relax or sleep. The entire place reeks of toxic paint and dust, making it an outright health hazard. To make matters worse, I was assigned a room on a floor that was completely under construction. The dust coated everything, and the air was thick with fumes that made it nearly impossible to breathe. This is not just an inconvenience; it is a blatant violation of basic safety and health regulations. It is beyond irresponsible—it is dangerous. As if that weren’t bad enough, some of the construction workers actually live in the hotel, treating it like their personal dormitory. They were excessively loud, shouting and making noise until nearly 3:00 AM, ensuring that a good night’s sleep was impossible. Management has clearly abandoned any responsibility for maintaining a decent environment for paying guests. This property should not be operating under any circumstances. It is an active construction zone, a health risk, and a complete nightmare. Authorities should investigate immediately, and until then, I strongly urge everyone to avoid this place at all costs. Stay here at your own risk—because management certainly doesn’t care about your well-being

Features / Highlights

The Wingate by Wyndham Augusta/Fort Eisenhower offers several features that, under normal circumstances, would be considered highlights. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the current context of the property based on recent guest feedback:

  • **Ongoing Renovations:** Public data confirms the hotel is "undergoing some renovations," with a year last renovated listed as "2025" (or "2023" on other sources for rooms only, while overall property 2000-2002 build). This indicates a commitment to upgrades, which, once complete, could be a significant highlight. The most recent negative review, however, describes the hotel as an "active construction zone," with "deafening sounds of construction," "toxic paint and dust," and "fumes," directly impacting guest experience.
  • **Modernized Appearance (Post-Renovation):** One positive review from May 2025 noted, "Nicely modern and clean," and "Newly renovated facility. Very clean and staff was great!" This suggests that some upgraded rooms or areas may offer a fresh, welcoming aesthetic.
  • **Spacious Guest Rooms:** The hotel offers "100 oversized guestrooms" with "spacious accommodations" and "separate work areas," including in-room safes, flat-screen TVs with premium channels, microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers.

  • **Accessible Rooms:** The hotel offers accessible rooms with features like shower/tub combinations and other amenities designed for guests with specific accessibility needs.
  • **Proximity to Fort Eisenhower:** Its location near the base is a definite highlight for military-affiliated travelers.
  • **Helpful Staff (Variable Experiences):** While some recent positive reviews praise "helpful staff" and "the staff was very nice," the extremely negative review highlights significant concerns about management's response to construction noise and unprofessional behavior from workers residing in the hotel. This suggests a highly variable guest experience regarding staff and management responsiveness during the renovation period.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For us Georgians, the **Wingate by Wyndham Augusta/Fort Eisenhower** presents a complex picture for potential stays. Its core suitability lies in its **strategic location** at 2123 Noland Connector Rd. For anyone with business at **Fort Eisenhower**, attending events like the Masters Tournament, or simply needing convenient access to Augusta's shopping, dining, and medical centers, this location is undeniably advantageous, saving significant travel time. The ongoing renovations, when completed, promise a "fresh and welcoming" updated facility, as noted by some recent positive reviews, which suggests a promising future for the property. However, it is absolutely crucial for locals considering this hotel to be aware of the **current, highly impactful renovation work** as detailed in recent negative feedback. Reports of continuous loud construction noise, strong fumes, and even issues with cleanliness and disruptive behavior from workers living on-site indicate that the experience can be significantly compromised. While some guests have had positive stays during this period, others describe it as "hazardous" and a "nightmare."

Therefore, while the Wingate by Wyndham Augusta/Fort Eisenhower offers undeniable locational convenience and the potential for a great stay once renovations are fully complete and operational issues resolved, locals should exercise extreme caution. It is most suitable for those who prioritize location above all else and are prepared for potential disruptions, or ideally, for those who can confirm directly with the hotel that their specific stay dates will not be significantly impacted by ongoing construction.

The staff here is very accommodating. They made sure my Grandmother and I got a room on the ground floor. The rooms are a nice size.

terrible ! please do not stay here they will scam you out of money that is unnecessary. stayed here since the 24th no problem. check in was easy. the 26th i go to book again no problem we get there all of a sudden we have to pay $150 deposit that we have not payed since we have once been there. if so that’s something that should’ve been paid at check in or online when booking. cool pay the $100, stay there is fine. rooms are ok kind of outdated. we go to check in again tonight, all of a sudden we’re no longer allowed to book and they can not accept our reservation because it was labeled as “smoking”. never smoked in that room not once and if so why continue to allow us to book and take our money? the only reason that was labeled there is because THE MANAGER was mad we questioned him about paying a deposit since we had not payed it the 3-4 nights previously. they then still allowed us to book a room and take the money to tell us that to then not cancel our reservation. Please do not waste your money.
