While the search query might relate to "Hotels Near Of Me," it's important to clarify that 444 Highland, located at 444 Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30312, USA, with a phone number of (678) 862-9726 and mobile at +1 678-862-9726, appears to be primarily an apartment building offering residential living rather than a traditional hotel. This distinction is crucial for potential occupants searching for short-term hotel stays versus longer-term apartment rentals. However, for users who might be seeking extended stay options or a more home-like environment in a central location, 444 Highland could still be a relevant consideration within the broader "Hotels Near Of Me" category, especially if they are looking for furnished units.
444 Highland is situated in the vibrant Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. This area is known for its rich history, artistic community, and convenient access to a variety of urban amenities. The location is highly walkable and bikeable, boasting a Walk Score of 84 and a Bike Score of 88, making it ideal for those who prefer to navigate the city without a car. It offers excellent transit options with a Transit Score of 56, including proximity to MARTA bus lines and train stations like King Historic District.
The building's surroundings are characterized by a blend of residential charm and urban convenience. Residents have easy access to numerous grocery stores, diverse restaurants and bars, and a variety of shops. Notable nearby attractions and points of interest include Freedom Park, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, Krog Street Market, Ponce City Market, Little Five Points, and the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail. The property is also conveniently located near educational institutions such as Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, Clark Atlanta University, and Spelman College, making it a potential option for students or those affiliated with these universities.
Despite its central location, some past resident reviews indicate that the physical condition of the building itself has been a concern, with mentions of a need for renovations and a decline in maintenance quality over time. This suggests that while the neighborhood is desirable, the internal environment of the building may present challenges.
As a residential apartment building, 444 Highland offers a different set of services and amenities compared to a typical hotel. Units typically come fully furnished with essentials such as a twin bed, nightstand, desk/chair, mini-fridge, and microwave, making them suitable for short-term or extended stays without the need for immediate furniture purchases. Each unit includes a private bathroom. In-unit amenities generally include air conditioning and cable readiness. Internet is often included, making it easier for residents to stay connected.
Community amenities, as described in various listings, include a laundry facility, an elevator (though its reliability has been a point of concern in reviews), a fitness center, and a business center. Some listings also mention controlled access, on-site maintenance, on-site management, and even a recreation room. Pet-friendly policies are often in place, welcoming both cats and dogs, though specific details and potential fees should be confirmed. Some utilities may be included, which can be a beneficial feature for residents.
However, recent customer reviews paint a picture of inconsistent service and declining amenities. Issues reported include:
The primary feature of 444 Highland, especially in the context of "Hotels Near Of Me" for longer stays, is its offering of furnished studio apartments in a desirable Atlanta neighborhood. This can be attractive for individuals seeking a ready-to-move-in solution without the commitment of a traditional lease or the higher cost of a hotel. The location's walkability and access to public transit are significant advantages.
However, the customer experience, as detailed in recent reviews, is largely negative, emphasizing severe issues with the building's infrastructure and management. Residents express deep disappointment with the decline in living conditions, citing:
Given the resident feedback, any "promotional information" for 444 Highland, especially on a platform like "Hotels Near Of Me" that implies quality and service, would need to be carefully contextualized. Historically, the property might have attracted individuals seeking:
The current state, as described by residents, suggests that while the initial appeal might be the location and furnished units, the reality of living conditions could quickly deter potential occupants. Any accurate promotion would need to transparently address the ongoing issues and highlight any significant, confirmed improvements. Without substantial renovations and a demonstrable improvement in maintenance and management, the property faces considerable challenges in attracting and retaining residents, especially those accustomed to typical hotel standards. For those searching "Hotels Near Of Me," 444 Highland might offer a longer-term, apartment-style stay, but prospective residents should be aware of the documented challenges in its living conditions and service quality.

Oct 18, 2024 Β· Desi TrotI wish I could rate this building lower, this building is a death trap that needs to be torn down. The hot water rarely works, the front desk staff are very rude and rarely take accountability for any issues that occur in the building or give an estimate of when issues are expected to be fixed. Maintenance requests are often ignored here and no one usually answers the emergency maintenance number. This building desperately needs to be renovated and needs new appliances bc most of the appliances here are infested with roaches and rats, broken, or both. The elevator is also always messing up and recently took a young mans life because the property manager neglected to keep up with the elevators maintenance. No one deserves to live through these horrible living conditions and definitely should not have to pay the price that they have set for the small rooms they provide.
Oct 16, 2021 Β· tiny hallGracie and Stephanie were extremely helpful and patient with my leasing process!! while i am still a new tenant here at 444 my first impressions arenβt as bad as people make it out to be. the units are very clean and not as small as they seem.
Jun 17, 2022 Β· EliI lived here for 6 weeks while I did a review course. The room is pretty small. The "fully furnished" statement is hilarious. The furniture is used, cheap, and wobbly. My desk shakes when I write. The study chair isn't good for long study sessions and it looks pretty dirty. The microwave is so pathetic, my food comes out cold after minutes and minutes of heating. The mattress was so cheap, creaky, and worn out that I started getting bad back pain. I actually slept on the ground after that because no one came after repeated complaints. Most people in my class had the same complaint. Also, there is no gym like they advertise and the games and stuff they show you online is dead and collecting dust. The building didn't have heat for a while during the worst of winter. Bring your own portable heater. Luckily I came a few days after they got heat. Now its 80+F outside and the entire building has no AC to save money. So its hot and sweaty in the rooms now. The management guy said they will turn it on in April or so. Lastly, many people have said they don't return your deposits even if your room is nice and cleaned. That about sums this place up. One good thing though. The internet was nice and fast.
Mar 20, 2018 Β· ΰͺ΅ΰͺΏΰͺ΅ΰ«ΰͺI lived here for 8 weeks from Oct to Dec 2017 while doing a review course. It is a good location if you do not have a car as it is close to CVS, Well Star hospital and some food places. It is reasonably priced but very skimpy on maintenance and cleanliness. They have renovated the rooms on the 7th floor and above but the 5th and 6th floor are incredibly old. I suggest you opt for rooms on 7th floor and above. I lived in a small room on the 6th floor, the furniture was okay but the mattress very old and worn out. Some friends of mine had to get air mattresses because the furniture wasn't sturdy enough. The quality of the furniture varied from room to room. My washroom on the 6th floor was very old. While cleaning, some of the tiles would chip! I did not like the washroom one bit! There is a common kitchen area on every floor which was very poorly maintained. They need a MUCH BETTER cleaning agency and enforce stronger rules for students (I understand that residents can be sloths sometimes). Yes, some floors did have cockroaches, all depended on how clean the kitchen was! They REALLY need to up their cleaning! The vents between rooms are connected, which meant that when my neighbour smoked weed, it was full blown in my apartment! The heating system was so intense that even when I set it to lowest temp, I could not breathe so I left it off and got a portable heater. The building itself is fine, although older with appropriate maintenance it could be much more well kempt. The management is slow it took about 4 months to get my security deposit back and that too with several texts and phone calls. Some friends haven't yet gotten it back. The maintenance is a bit slow too, it takes quite a bit probing and reminders to get things fixed. This a good location for students and also provide short term leases, hence why there will be a steady flow and often the building is quite populated BUT it is VERY UNFORTUNATE to see that despite getting the business it is not well taken care of. If they just upped their game a little, the place would have a much better reputation.
