We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The location was decent and convenient for our plans, and we truly appreciated the complimentary room upgrade. The room itself was spacious and comfortable in terms of layout. However, several issues affected the overall quality of our stay. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly, and the showers had issues as well, which was frustrating. Amenities were quite average, and the room carpet felt old and worn. As pet owners, we were particularly disappointed by the very high pet fees, especially given there was no designated area on the premises for walking or relieving our dog. For the cost, we expected a more accommodating and thoughtful experience. Unfortunately, the overall value didn’t match the price we paid. While there were some positives, we don’t feel the experience justified the cost.

The overall impression is one of a beautiful and well-maintained property in a very safe and desirable area.
The services at Battery Wharf Hotel are designed to cater to a discerning clientele, though guest experiences can be varied. The staff at the front desk generally receives positive feedback for being "friendly and very pleasing" upon check-in, and going "above and beyond" for guests. However, some guest feedback has highlighted issues such as malfunctioning air conditioning and showers, and the absence of a refrigerator or microwave in all rooms (though they may be available upon request). Despite the general spaciousness, one review noted that "amenities were quite average" for the price point. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats of any size for an additional fee of $100 per pet, per stay, though a notable point of disappointment for pet owners was the lack of a designated area on the premises for walking or relieving dogs, despite the high fee. Connecting rooms are available upon request.
Dining at Battery Wharf Hotel is a significant feature. The Battery Lounge is another option for handcrafted cocktails. Cafe Amalfi is also mentioned as a coffee shop/cafe for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and al fresco dining. These dining options provide guests with convenient and authentic culinary experiences without having to leave the hotel.

Its waterfront position provides not only scenic views but also convenient access to harbor activities. Being "very well located" in a "safe area" enhances the overall appeal, especially for those looking to explore Boston's key attractions without extensive travel.
From a promotional perspective, the Battery Wharf Hotel highlights its "authentic Boston Waterfront Hotel Experience," emphasizing "modern luxury steeped in beloved New England tradition." May 03, 2025 · Neeraj RedkarWhen I was departing, I had trouble getting my Valet so I went to the front desk and rang the bell. The scathing look on this man because he had to get out of his seat from the other room and come help me was one thing... but his rude tone, snide remarks, and facial expressions were uncalled for and completely ruined my experience at this hotel. It was early... I was running late and I only rang the bell... that's it... rang the bell and this person acted like I was the most incompetent person in the world because I had not texted the valet number. Well... the ticket did not have the number on it and I had forgotten I had received a text the prior night from the Valet, like I said I was in a rush and just trying to get to the airport. The person I saw checking into the hotel was friendly and very pleasing but this person during checking out was so rude that I could never ever give this hotel my money ever again. For such a meh hotel in appearance and quality good service is an absolute must when there are clearly many other options in Boston. I will never be going back to this establishment, ever...
Apr 09, 2025 · Ken LesmerisesOur room on the first floor was quiet, clean and comfortable. All the staff were professional, pleasant and very helpful. The hotel common areas were clean and nicely decorated. We stayed because we saw a show at the garden, and if you’re ambitious you can walk to and from. Lots of great little restaurants walking distance too.
Feb 15, 2025 · Lauren PineauTraveling from South Africa, we were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The service quality was poor, the room conditions were below standard, and many of the advertised amenities weren't available. When we raised these issues with the staff, we were met with complete indifference. From what I understand, this used to be an excellent hotel, but standards have clearly slipped. While the location is fantastic, that's where the positives end. For the premium prices being charged, guests should expect far more than just a good location. Given our experience, we won't be returning. It's unfortunate because the hotel has so much potential, but it needs significant improvements to justify the cost. A prime location alone isn't enough to warrant the current rates.
Feb 07, 2025 · Johan RothI wish I didn't book here. -Parking is a nightmare. No street parking within 1/4 mile. No parking other than valet for $50 a night and they take your car off-site. No access to your car during your stay. No in and out unless you want to pay another $50 each time. Takes 30 minutes to get your car back. The valet did not speak English, or had such a thick African-origin language accent that I could not understand a single word and I sincerely tried to... I had no idea what he was saying when I handed over my key. I don't mean that rudely or racist... the valets need to be able to clearly communicate instructions to English-speaking guests. If speaking isn't possible, then at least print the instructions on paper to give to the guests (perhaps in multiple languages). -No mini-fridges or microwaves in rooms, despite there being furniture specifically designed for a mini fridge. You can request one, but according to the rude front desk lady "they only have a few" for the entire hotel and it's first come. There was no mini-fridge available for my 3-night stay. -There were only 3 (generic, no label at all) coffee pods left in the room for our 3-night stay. No other coffee available in the hotel. -The bathroom vanity sink had multiple cracks -The room smelled musty and the carpets are quite worn -There is an on-site restaurant, but the menu is extremely limited. -Super thin walls. I could hear people in the next room talking clear as day. Would never stay here again. Do not recommend. 2/10.
