Check in room had no heat. Sends a maintenance man to “fix” tells us we can go out & when we got back it would be fix. Um no, we just walked around over 5 hours we needed a hotel room at this point. So they give us another room, this one had no heat either. Finally got a third room & I notice each room didn’t have a fridge, safe, or even a phone to call down to the front desk. You have to call on your cell & most of the time the 24 hour front desk help won’t answer. Booked this weekend for my husband & I’s 5 year anniversary & our final day we have NO HOT WATER IN OUR ROOM!!! This was my last straw, I can’t even shower before I have to spend the day running around the city until our flight tonight. Will not be coming back for my 10 year anniversary. So disappointed. So unprofessional with maintenance men randomly coming into our room to check things we never ask for? I don’t feel safe staying here. They don’t even lock the room where they keep your luggage. Welcome to New York. Don’t stay here, pay the extra money or stay away from Times Square. Also rooms are NOT sound proof since they are on top of a club with bass going all night. Oh the second room they tried giving me has a space heater! Stay classy new York!
Looking for a boutique hotel experience near Times Square in New York City? Cachet Boutique Hotel NYC, located at 510 W 42nd St, is part of the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category. However, recent guest reviews indicate a number of significant issues that local users should be aware of before considering a stay here.
Multiple guests have reported problems with basic amenities and services. One guest's check-in room had no heat, and after a lengthy wait and a temporary fix attempt, a second room also lacked heating. A third room was eventually provided, but this guest noted that none of the rooms had a fridge, safe, or even a phone to call the front desk. Communication with the 24-hour front desk was difficult, often going unanswered when called via cell phone.
Further compounding these issues, the same guest experienced a complete lack of hot water on their final day, preventing them from showering before their flight. This guest expressed extreme disappointment and stated they would not return, citing unprofessionalism including maintenance staff entering their room without request and feeling unsafe due to unsecured luggage storage. They advised others to avoid this hotel, suggesting paying extra for a better experience elsewhere or staying away from the Times Square area altogether.
Another guest described the hotel as "weird," noting that their room appeared to be half-finished, lacking bedside tables and chairs, and also had non-functional heating in late November. They also found someone else's used toiletries in the bathroom. Similar to the first review, this guest reported no phone in the room to contact the front desk and described the hotel as pricy for a very strange experience.
Additionally, guests have noted that the rooms are not soundproof, as the hotel is located above a club with bass noise continuing throughout the night, potentially disrupting sleep. One of the rooms offered to a guest even had a space heater, further highlighting the heating issues.
Based on these recent reviews, Cachet Boutique Hotel NYC appears to have significant shortcomings in essential amenities, maintenance, service responsiveness, and guest comfort and safety. Potential guests should carefully consider these reported issues before making a booking. The reviews do not mention any positive aspects or promotional information. For direct inquiries, you can contact Cachet Boutique Hotel NYC at (212) 947-2999 or +1 212-947-2999. However, the overwhelmingly negative recent feedback raises serious concerns about the quality of stay at this hotel.

Dec 15, 2024 · SaraThis hotel is weird. It looked like our hotel room was half made. It was missing bedside tables and chairs and the heat didn’t work in late November. Someone left their old conditioner in the bathroom which was odd. Women walking around the hallways in undergarments. No phone in the room to call front desk. Pricy hotel for a very strange experience
Nov 17, 2024 · Rose GodfreyPros: *The front desk staff are super nice and super helpful. * The hotel is extremely quiet. * The patio is very cute and very peaceful. * Several quiet spaces scattered about the hotel, perfect for someone "working from home." * A great location to head in any direction around the city. 10-20min walking distance from subways and some “must see/must do” things around the city. * Staff was very attentive to bringing me ice! I'm an athlete, and I would train everyday while I was here and needed to ice my muscles after. They were wonderful about bringing me buckets of ice multiple times a day when I asked for it. Cons: *Not the cleanest. I set my clothes down on the floor to take a shower and when I picked them up they were covered in dust. *AC is terrible. I called 3 times across 3 separate days for someone to come and fix my AC unit or be moved to another room. The temp in my room was 79. I was assured that "the technician will be right up." He only came one time. After 10pm when I was already asleep. I did however manage to "fix" the problem myself when one evening the entire facade covering the AC unit fell clean off and nearly gave me a heart attack! Then I figured out that I would just have to flip a switch on the unit itself every hour or so to reset it and it would blow cold air again. Can definitely tell by the cobwebs and lost socks/medication in there that the into hadn't been serviced in decades. *No fan in the bathroom. No curtain or anything either. Just a glass half-partition on the wrong side. Can def tell it was designed by a man (IYKYK). *Elevator makes rather unsettling sounds. *The place is truly a labyrinth. The escape room of hotels. Nothing makes sense.
Aug 28, 2023 · Melissa FortnashHad a nice stay this past week. Really cool lobby. Spacious room with character. :) Staff was wonderful. I liked the shampoo and conditioner, was amazing for my hair. Great location with everything close by but quiet. Definitely recommend.
Sep 29, 2023 · Kristy LeighThis is a perfect example where you shouldn’t always believe reviews. This is a GREAT hotel. The check-in and check-out took 2 minutes. The staff was efficient and polite 💯 My room was clean and beautiful with a huge bathroom 🚿 It really felt like home ! The only very small downside is that I had to pay 2$ in cash for them to keep my suitcase the day I left. It’s very cheap so it was appreciated 👍🏼 but most tourists don’t use cash when they travel, so I had to withdraw 50$ + bank fees just to pay these 2$. I just wished I had this info before my arrival 🙃 Deposit was returned 24 hours after I left, so before bashing this lovely hotel, keep in mind your bank might just be slow.
