While some reviews mention that the rooms, though appearing small in photos, are comfortable and clean, and the bathrooms are functional, concerns have been raised about the cleanliness of common areas such as hallways and elevators. Guests have also noted that trash is sometimes left outside room doors, affecting the overall appearance.
A significant point of concern in guest reviews is the service from the staff, described by some as somewhat rude and not well-trained in hospitality. Specifically, male staff at the front desk were characterized as rough and sarcastic, while female staff were generally perceived as friendlier and more polite.
The most critical issue highlighted by a guest is the package reception service, with a strong recommendation to AVOID SENDING PACKAGES HERE. The system is described as terrible, with one guest recounting multiple unsuccessful attempts to retrieve their items, blaming a consistently unavailable manager. The guest finally received their packages on their departure day.

Mar 17, 2025 · Florence TravelsThe rooms are good; they may seem small in the photos but are comfortable and clean. The same applies to the bathroom, which is functional and comfortable. This hotel is ideal for short stays or quick trips. The common areas (hallways, elevators) could be cleaner, and rooms leave their trash next to the door, which affects the overall appearance. The service from the staff is somewhat rude, and they don’t seem well-trained for the hospitality industry. In general, the men at the front desk are rough and sarcastic, while the women are friendlier and more polite. The worst part is the package reception; DO NOT SEND PACKAGES HERE. The system is terrible. I had to go four times to ask for my items, and they never gave them to me, saying the manager handles those things. I went several times during the hours they told me, but the manager was never there—either arriving late or leaving early. I finally managed to get my packages the day I was leaving.
Mar 27, 2025 · Andrés GreccoAmazing location and great value. We were within walking distance of a number of places we wanted to go, and could easily take the subway everywhere else. Rooms were clean and exactly as expected, and the area felt safe even when coming home in the dark. Staff was friendly and helpful, finding the place/checking in/checking out were all nice and easy. Rooms were small but that's the trade off you make for the good price. Only negative was the pillows -> they were thin and pretty lumpy. Truly the only bad thing though, everything else was great and I'd definitely stay here again. The city noises are loud but that's true of anywhere in NYC, and I never had a problem with hearing people in the other rooms.
Feb 04, 2025 · Shannon BWe’ve stayed at this hotel 2 yrs in a row and absolutely love it. Yes the rooms are small but we travel to spend time in the city not spend time in the room. Nice bathrooms, everything is well kept. Great view of the city from hotel window. Location is in beginning of time square so you can walk down 42nd st.. Plenty of close places to get food from. Close to subways. Side note- We also love the $1.50 pizza located across the street.
Feb 07, 2025 · Stephanie CrawWe just stayed here for 4 nights and had an overall great experience. After reading a lot of reviews about the hotel charging unknown charges here and there, I decided to freeze my card that I had reserved the room under. On our way to the hotel, I received a notification saying the hotel tried charging me $84 (from where I don’t know) but it hadn’t gone through thankfully. At check-ins, I asked about it and they said it was just to ensure that I was coming which did not make any sense but it wasn’t successfully charged so I didn’t mind it. After making sure I was getting charged the correct amount of $ plus $50 of deposit, I unfroze the card and the froze it again just in case. Some of my complains are about the cleanliness of the room: when I first went inside, it had a neutral smell which told me it wasn’t filthy but it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. I have a sensitive nose to these things since I’m allergic to dust mites. I pulled out the big guns (Clorox wipes) and wiped down every surface possible. I did find a ton of dust and food stains. I found hairs from previous guests in the blanket and the towels had an odd smell. Other than all of that, the room was the perfect size for two people, and the location of this hotel is amazing. I definitely will come back here.
