I had the absolute misfortune of staying at the Chester Hotel and Conference Center at 815 North Pottstown Pike, Building A, Exton, PA, during a recent business trip. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to book here due to limited last-minute availability elsewhere. This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Filthy & Run-Down: The entire place is dingy, outdated, and reeks of weed from the moment you step in. The carpets look like they haven’t been cleaned in years, and the walls are stained. The elevator and front desk area smell like someone pissed all over, making it unbearable to even pass through. Disgusting Rooms: The bedding felt unwashed, the bathroom was worse than a roadside gas station, and the shower was so grimy I refused to step in without flip-flops. Despite multiple requests at the front desk, they **never cleaned the room**—not even basic tidying or trash removal. They have a ridiculous policy where room cleaning is only offered after three days, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel. No Basic Amenities: They do not provide towels upon request, and the lack of housekeeping means you're stuck with whatever mess accumulates. Even getting extra toilet paper was a challenge. Rude, Unhelpful Staff: The front desk staff was unbothered and dismissive, and any request for essentials was met with indifference. They clearly do not care about guest experience. Unhygienic and Unsafe: The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke and marijuana. The elevator was dirty, and the entire place just had an uncomfortable, sketchy vibe. This hotel is an absolute joke, and I regret every second I spent here. The conditions were so bad that I left midway through my stay and found another place at extra cost—that’s how terrible it was. DO NOT book this hotel unless you enjoy filth, rude service, and a complete lack of amenities. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me.
For individuals seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Exton, Pennsylvania area, the Chester Hotel & Conference Center, located at 815 N Pottstown Pike Building A, Exton, PA 19341, USA, presents itself as an option, particularly for those on a tight budget or with limited last-minute availability. However, prospective guests should be aware that recent customer reviews paint a consistently negative picture of the establishment, highlighting significant concerns across various aspects of the hotel experience.
The overall environment of the Chester Hotel & Conference Center is described in highly unfavorable terms. Reviewers consistently use words like "filthy," "dingy," "outdated," and "run-down." There are widespread complaints about unpleasant odors, specifically "reek of weed" and areas smelling "like someone pissed all over," particularly in the elevator and front desk areas. The carpets are reported to look as if they haven't been cleaned in years, and walls are stained, contributing to an overall unhygienic and neglected appearance. The entire property is depicted as having a "sketchy vibe," making guests feel uncomfortable and unsafe. One reviewer even suggested the place has the potential to be a "crust punk venue" rather than a conference center, speaking volumes about its current state and outdated feel, possibly reflecting an establishment that has not seen significant renovation since the "late 70s."
Guest rooms at the Chester Hotel & Conference Center are a major point of contention and dissatisfaction. Descriptions include "disgusting rooms" where bedding "felt unwashed." Bathrooms are described as "worse than a roadside gas station," with showers so "grimy" that guests refused to use them without flip-flops. Further issues reported include mildew on curtains, dirt and other substances running down walls, dead bugs and black mildew in window tracks, and yellow stains on blankets. Guests have also reported that rooms are uncomfortably hot even with the air conditioning on, suggesting issues with climate control. These accounts indicate a severe lack of cleanliness and basic maintenance within the accommodations, creating an environment that is far from what most travelers would consider acceptable for a comfortable or hygienic stay.
The services offered at the Chester Hotel & Conference Center are largely described as inadequate and unhelpful. Despite multiple requests, guests reported that rooms were "never cleaned," with no basic tidying or trash removal. The hotel reportedly has a "ridiculous policy" where room cleaning is only offered after three days, which is deemed "completely unacceptable for a hotel." Furthermore, guests faced challenges in obtaining basic amenities, such as towels upon request, and even getting extra toilet paper was described as a challenge. The front desk staff is characterized as "unbothered and dismissive," meeting requests with "indifference." There is a strong sentiment that the staff "clearly do not care about guest experience." While one reviewer noted the guy at the front desk was "friendly, for the two seconds it took to check in and out," this minimal positive interaction did not offset the overall negative service experience and "chaos going on at this place during the night."
In terms of features, the Chester Hotel & Conference Center is billed as a "conference center," but reviews cast serious doubt on its current suitability for such a purpose, humorously suggesting its last business conference was likely in the "late 70s." Beyond this, guests consistently report that "Nothing works." The basic amenities expected in most hotels, such as regular housekeeping, working facilities, and readily available essentials like towels, appear to be absent or severely lacking. The presence of a phone number (610) 363-1100 and a mobile phone number (+1 610-363-1100) indicates channels for communication, but the reviews suggest that these do not translate into effective service or resolution of issues. The hotel is reported to attract "mostly drug addicts and people who hastily book a room because of cheap rates and deceptive photos on google," which contributes to the "unhygienic and unsafe" feeling, with hallways smelling of cigarette smoke and marijuana.
Promotional information for the Chester Hotel & Conference Center is not detailed in the provided reviews, but the consistent theme is that it is booked due to "cheap rates" or "limited last-minute availability elsewhere." This suggests its primary appeal might be its low price point, often achieved at the expense of cleanliness, service, and guest comfort. Potential guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering this option should exercise extreme caution. Reviews explicitly state, "DO NOT book this hotel unless you enjoy filth, rude service, and a complete lack of amenities," and advise against staying there "if you’re traveling with children or if you’re traveling for work." The sentiment is strong, with one guest leaving midway through their stay at "extra cost" because the conditions were "so bad," and another stating they "wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me." There is no indication of any loyalty programs, special offers, or other positive promotional aspects that would typically entice travelers to a reputable establishment. The overwhelming consensus from past guests is to "Stay elsewhere" and that there are "Lots of moderately priced places close by" that offer a far superior experience.

Mar 16, 2025 · Bharadwaj PopuriIf I could give negative stars I would give -5. This place is awful. Super sketchy. I don’t even wanna take my shoes off in this place. Don’t stay here if you’re traveling with children or if you’re traveling for work. Lots of moderately priced places close by. This place is nasty dirty. Stains and cigarette burns on everything. Nothing works. Just a total bummer. They call this place a conference center? The last business conference in this establishment probly took place in the late 70s. On the bright side this place has the potential to be a great crust punk venue. Management if you’re reading this, you strongly consider having punk rock shows in your “conference room.” Guy at the front desk was friendly, for the two seconds it took to check in and out. Unfortunately that does not forgive all the other chaos going on at this place during the night. This place is not a normal hotel. It is mostly drug addicts and people who hastily book a room because of cheap rates and deceptive photos on google. Stay elsewhere
Dec 31, 2024 · PatrickHotel is very cheap, trashy and unprofessional… a lot of drug addiction going on. Regulars get treated as if they’ve never seen them before. Even the ones that are respectful and take a double bed when they booked a king. I had a double bed room for almost a week when I payed for a king!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO ARE REGULARS ESPECIALLY YOUNG COUPLES. They treat you with zero respect as a repeat customer. Found drugs in my room before, broken lights, tvs don’t work properly. Overall this hotel is very picky and choosy who they will help and allow a discounted price to. Even the ones that clean the rooms before leaving and not giving hosuekeeping too much work! The worst hotel when it comes to respecting repeat customers. The whole floor smells of marijuana and cigarettes.
Nov 15, 2024 · GCTV GtaRP (LFW)When we arrived we were given the wrong room. When we finally got the right room. The walls were empty, no decor. No matching lamps. THE SHOWER DID NOT WORK!! After our night out when we came back to the hotel we took the back entrance and stumbled upon a drunk man lying in front of a room passed out! And upon coming to our room our key cards were not working so we had to get them readjusted. The lady up front was just being rude saying we shouldn’t be putting the key cards with your phone. Like how were we supposed to know?!! Overall was just uncomfortable the whole stay. For the price of the hotel its just better getting some a bit more expensive.
