Front desk clerk not very friendly. Room had a musty smell, couch had a big tear in the cushion, bed very hard, our son's room on the second floor had a terrible cigarette smell which you could smell as soon as you got off the elevator. For the price was a major disappointment after just staying in a Holiday Inn Express in Ohio for about half the price and everything there was perfect.
The Comfort Inn, situated at 4770 Steubenville Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, USA, falls under the "Hotels Near Me" category, catering to travelers seeking an accessible and economical lodging option in the Pittsburgh area. This hotel aims to provide essential comforts and services, making it a viable choice for a variety of guests, from those on business trips to leisure travelers exploring the city. However, potential guests should be aware of a range of experiences reported by previous visitors, indicating that while some aspects are highly rated, others may require a tempered expectation.
The Comfort Inn in Pittsburgh benefits from a strategic location in Robinson Township, offering a suburban setting with convenient access to major thoroughfares. Its proximity to the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) makes it a practical choice for air travelers, though an explicit airport shuttle service is not consistently advertised for this specific Comfort Inn location. Guests should consider taxi services or ride-sharing for airport transportation. Beyond the airport, the hotel is well-placed for those interested in shopping and dining, with Robinson Town Centre and The Mall at Robinson in close vicinity. This allows for easy access to a variety of retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. For sports enthusiasts or those interested in downtown attractions, the hotel is approximately an 18-minute drive from Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field) and PNC Park, making it a reasonable base for attending games or exploring the city center. While the location is generally considered quiet, some rooms might have views that are less picturesque due to their position relative to the surrounding area.
The Comfort Inn strives to offer a comfortable and functional stay with several key amenities that are standard for the brand. A significant highlight for many guests is the complimentary buffet breakfast, which includes hot and cold options and is served daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM on weekends. This feature is often praised for its convenience and quality.
Other notable services and amenities include:
The Comfort Inn's primary appeal lies in its value proposition – offering essential amenities like complimentary breakfast and free Wi-Fi at a generally affordable price point. Its location provides easy access to the airport and popular shopping centers, which is a significant convenience for many travelers. The provision of a fitness center and comfortable bedding are also positive features. However, the hotel's distinguishing aspects are somewhat overshadowed by inconsistent guest experiences. While some guests praise the cleanliness of the rooms and the helpfulness of the cleaning staff, others report significant issues such as strong odors, worn-out furniture, and maintenance problems (e.g., non-functioning amenities, unpleasant smells). The perceived unfriendliness or unhelpfulness of some front desk staff has also been a recurring point of concern for guests, which contrasts with the positive comments received by cleaning staff. This indicates variability in service quality. It's important for potential visitors to note that this specific Comfort Inn does not have a swimming pool, despite some other Comfort Inn properties in the Pittsburgh area offering one, and it is not a pet-friendly hotel.
As a Choice Hotels property, the Comfort Inn participates in the Choice Privileges loyalty program. This allows guests to earn points for their stays, which can be redeemed for free nights, gift cards, and other rewards. Booking directly through the Choice Hotels website or app often provides access to the best available rates and exclusive member-only offers.

While specific prices can vary, room rates have been observed to start from approximately USD 75.00, making it a competitive option for budget-conscious travelers. It's advisable to check the official Choice Hotels website or reputable online travel agencies for the most current promotional offers and to ensure accurate pricing and availability for your travel dates. Guests should also be mindful of potential additional charges for late check-out or other specific requests. The hotel's check-in time is 3:30 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM.

May 20, 2025 · Jeff StewartRooms were spotless. Breakfast was included and good. 18-minute drive from Acrisure stadium. The cleaning lady was extremely helpful and kind. I don't think the girls at the front desk enjoyed their jobs. There was an older gentleman who had gone to the wrong hotel and was trying to figure out where he was supposed to be. They were being extremely short with him when I walked in. We asked the front desk where the closest restaurant was (phone had died), and she said the vending machines in the hall. All in all bed was comfortable room was clean, shower had awesome water pressure, grounds were clean.
May 10, 2025 · W HWe stayed here for one night and had two rooms. One of the rooms was fine and had no issues reported by our family members staying there. The other room, however, was where I stayed and the problems were ABUNDANT. From the moment I walked in the room, I could tell it wasn’t very clean. The floors were sticky and the whole room smelled very strongly of some kind of cleaner or pesticide. Everything was just very run down and dingy, cup rings on all the furniture and the curtains had a very large amount of dirt and dust up near the top. There was dust and loose change in the dresser drawers as well. The shower head was so dirty I didn’t even dare to take a shower. Our room (first floor, room 113) was advertised as having two sofa beds but only had one, which wasn’t a huge issue as we only needed one of them. We went to make up the bed and found no bedding in the room for it and we were only given 3 king sized sheets when we asked the front desk for the bedding. No pillows, no blanket. I sent my partner back to the desk to ask for a pillow and blanket and he came back with a pillow but said they had no blankets. I found this to be quite unacceptable for a hotel that has sofa beds and advertises them. We left for a few hours and came back in the evening to find bed bugs in our room, and upon looking closely at the mattress, it was clear they had been present previously and for quite some time. I understand bed bugs happen in hotels but for the mattress to be in THAT condition and without so much as a mattress protector on it, I was completely disgusted. This amounts to negligence on management and ownership’s part. I went to the front desk, where another woman who was very upset was speaking with the woman behind the counter and she showed me a picture of a heroin needle she found in her young daughter’s bed that had been left from a previous guest, which tells me that they also don’t change the bedding after each guest as they should. We ultimately got switched to another room that was a different type up on the 3rd floor. No apology or any other kind of offer to make the situation right. While there were no bed bugs visibly present upon close inspection of our new room, it was still rather run down and unclean. Upon checking the sofa bed in that room, there was stuff under the cushions from previous guests that looked to be a tooth brush and other things that I didn’t bother to take a closer look at before deciding we wouldn’t be using that. The only reason we didn’t run from this place to another hotel is that we prepaid through a 3rd party website and I didn’t have the time or extra money to put a whole new set of rooms on my card on the evening of my sons birthday. To management: I have seen your responses to other reviews where you seem to pass the responsibility on to your employees. As someone who has worked in management, including hotels, for over 15 years, this is more than an employee problem. Your employees exist in the culture that YOU foster, and if you are not setting and enforcing standards properly things like this happen. You also need to massively invest in updating/improving your property so your employees can take pride in making the rooms look and feel good and your guests can feel comfortable and welcome. We did not feel that at ALL.
Mar 17, 2025 · Adi TUpon entering our room there was an oder of mildew. I check our room and there was black mold on the curtains. A dead stink bug on the our AC and Heating unit. Yellow stain on our mattress. White stains on our couch in the room. 3 remote controls for a tv but none of them work to turn the cable on. I had to manually do it from the tv to turn on the cable then I was able to use the cable remote for the cable. Not to mention just a very noisy area a lot of traffic outside but that wasn’t a big deal. I know this is a cheaper hotel but cleanliness and the simple things like a working TV remote to navigate the television is all we ask.
