Room was filthy. Poop on the toilet and what seemed to be a used or badly stained hand towel. The room had an overwhelming smell of cigarettes and the furniture was all very chipped. Lots of mystery stains on the ceiling. Breakfast wasn't bad at all but did not make up for the terrible room.

Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta Introduce

For those searching the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Augusta, Maine, the Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta is an option that frequently appears, primarily catering to travelers on a strict budget. Located at 18 Edison Dr, Augusta, ME 04330, USA, with a phone number of (207) 579-1839 and mobile phone +1 207-579-1839, this hotel is positioned as an economical choice. However, prospective guests should be aware that experiences here can be quite varied, as indicated by customer reviews.

The environment of the Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta, based on customer feedback, suggests a property that may be showing its age and could benefit from significant updates. Reviews frequently mention a "rundown" appearance and an "odd smell" throughout the building, contributing to a "weird vibe." This indicates that the exterior and common areas might not be aesthetically pleasing or modern. While the location on Edison Drive offers proximity to I-95 and other local Augusta points of interest, the immediate surroundings are likely typical of a commercial area, possibly featuring other budget lodging options or light industrial presence. The interior environment of the rooms, as critically described, can also be a significant concern, with mentions of chipped furniture and stains. This suggests a need for considerable renovation and maintenance to improve the overall guest experience. The property has exterior corridors, which is common for a motel-style Days Inn, allowing for direct room access from the parking lot. Despite the noted issues, some guests have mentioned a "serene garden," implying that there might be some outdoor space for guests to relax in, even if it's not a primary feature.

In terms of services, the Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta offers fundamental amenities typically found in budget hotels. A key service highlighted by reviews is the complimentary breakfast. While one guest noted it "wasn't bad at all," others describe it as a "light breakfast item together with your choice of coffee, tea and juice daily" or a "continental breakfast," which suggests a basic offering of pastries, toast, hard-boiled eggs, and cold cereal rather than a full hot buffet. The hotel provides free high-speed WiFi in all rooms and public areas, which is essential for modern travelers. Free self-parking for cars, trucks, and RVs is available, providing convenience for guests arriving by vehicle. Rooms generally include air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with premium cable channels, a coffee/tea maker, a microwave, and a refrigerator, offering basic in-room conveniences. Other services mentioned include a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, a fitness center, and self-serve laundry facilities, which can be useful for longer stays. The hotel also offers connecting rooms, subject to availability. Pets are allowed at this property for an additional fee, making it a pet-friendly option. It's noted that the property follows Wyndham's "Count on Us" cleaning and disinfection practices, and staff are trained in safety protocols, with some safety features like smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in place. However, the effectiveness of these practices in maintaining room cleanliness has been called into question by several guest reviews.

The defining features of the Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta are primarily its affordability and a limited set of functional amenities. Its strongest feature is its budget-friendly price point, which appeals to travelers for whom cost is the primary factor. The provision of free "on-the-go" breakfast and free parking adds to its value proposition. The inclusion of a microwave and refrigerator in rooms is a practical feature, allowing guests to store and heat food. The presence of a fitness center and a seasonal outdoor pool (typically open from June to September) offers some recreational options, though the condition of these facilities is not consistently praised. While it aims to provide basic comfort, the recurring theme in negative reviews points to significant issues with cleanliness and maintenance. Descriptions such as "filthy," "disgusting," "nasty," and "gross" regarding rooms, bathrooms, and particularly the toilet and shower, are prominent. The presence of "poop on the toilet," "visible soap scum," a "musty" shower curtain, and "mystery stains on the ceiling" are severe red flags. Furthermore, the "overwhelming smell of cigarettes" in non-smoking rooms and complaints of a "high pitched squeal" indicate significant comfort and quality control issues. While check-in is reported as easy and the ice machine functional, these positive points do not outweigh the widespread concerns about the general state of the rooms and the "very poor facilities."

For promotional information, the Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta relies on its brand recognition as an economy hotel and its core offerings like free breakfast and parking. However, the candid and overwhelmingly negative customer reviews present a significant challenge to any positive promotional efforts. While some online platforms might still list it with general amenities, the real-world experiences shared by recent guests effectively act as a strong disclaimer. The promotion of "clean and reasonably priced" experiences by some guests appears to be an outlier when compared to the prevailing negative feedback, which often advises potential guests to "spend some $$ and looking elsewhere" or even "stayed in my car" rather than endure the room conditions. Therefore, potential guests searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for Augusta should temper their expectations when considering the Days Inn by Wyndham Augusta. It is suited only for the most budget-conscious travelers who are willing to overlook significant cleanliness and maintenance issues for the sake of a low price and a place to sleep. Its promotional efforts, therefore, are undermined by its inconsistent quality, making it a highly risky choice for those prioritizing comfort and hygiene.

1 Star is too many Room was nasty. The floors, the walls, every surface was gross in someway. The bathroom was the worst. The toilet hadnt been scrubbed well, the shower had a visible soap scum line, shower curtain was musty. Room 106 had a high pitched squeal that went on the entirety of our time. Very few towels. Check in was easy, plenty of parking. Ice machine worked well. Overall the building had an odd smell and a weird vibe. If I had known how bad this would be, I'd have stayed in my car or risked the 2 hour drive to Augusta in the middle of the night. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Smoke detector removed from ceiling. Bathroom door wouldn’t shut. Floor was dirty when we arrived. They used such strong glade plug in my eyes were burning. Stained pillow cases, and bedding. Gross place. And no screens on windows. That’s safe!

Appalling standards of cleanliness. I was driven off the freeway by a blizzard, so I booked a room in a big hurry without checking the reviews. The first room I was given had a large amount of black mold (!!) in the heater/AC unit. I was given a new room, which looked superficially okay, but I found out the next morning that the previous guest's used coffee packet had been left in the coffeemaker. If they are this bad at things the guests CAN see then imagine what it must look like where guests CAN'T see. For a $30 no-name establishment this might have been acceptable because in bad weather a roof over your head is worth something. I paid $87, though. I would ONLY stay here if there are literally no other rooms in town, and even then only if the weather is too bad to be able to sleep in your car.

They stay was okay. What made a low score was broken toilet seat , and hot water for the shower was hard to get going. Ran over 30 minutes before was hot!
