Not highly recommended! We requested for the room to be cleaned, but were told it wasn’t possible. They didn’t even have service water. The male receptionist was very rude—if you want drinking water, you have to buy it, and it’s ridiculously overpriced. As soon as you step out of the lobby, the smell is terrible. Right in front of the hotel, there’s a pile of garbage in plain view. The pillows are as hard as a rock—they’re not even real pillows, just throw pillows. The toilet bowl had stains that you wouldn’t even want to guess what they are. We’re paying the right amount, so it’s only fair to expect decent service. That male receptionist should understand that he’s there to communicate with guests properly—not to be rude.
For individuals and families exploring options on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in the Parsippany, New Jersey area, Days Inn by Wyndham Parsippany offers a budget-friendly accommodation choice. Located at 3159 US-46 I-287, Parsippany, NJ 07054, USA, and reachable at (973) 939-4875 or +1 973-939-4875, this hotel is part of the widely recognized Wyndham brand. This introduction aims to provide an objective look at the hotel's environment, services, features, and any available promotional information, drawing from both general brand standards and specific customer feedback.
Environment: A Convenient Roadside Location with Mixed Impressions
Days Inn by Wyndham Parsippany is strategically situated along US-46, a major highway, and near I-287, offering immediate access for travelers driving through or visiting the Parsippany area. This location is primarily designed for convenience, particularly for those on road trips or needing quick access to the surrounding business districts and major transportation routes. Parsippany itself is a corporate hub, home to numerous businesses, making such roadside hotels popular for business travelers seeking affordability and accessibility.
The immediate environment around the hotel, given its highway location, is likely to be characterized by other commercial establishments, including gas stations, fast-food restaurants, and other budget-friendly lodging options. While this offers practical convenience, it may not provide a picturesque or tranquil setting. Customer reviews indicate a mixed impression of the hotel's external environment. One review explicitly mentions a "terrible" smell "as soon as you step out of the lobby" and a "pile of garbage in plain view" right in front of the hotel. This suggests that while the location offers convenience, the surrounding aesthetics and cleanliness of the immediate exterior might be a concern for some guests. However, it's typical for roadside hotels to prioritize functionality over scenic views.
For those interested in local attractions, the hotel's proximity to major highways allows relatively easy access to points of interest in Morris County. These might include the Whippany Railway Museum, Frelinghuysen Arboretum, or various parks and nature preserves, typically requiring a short drive. The hotel's focus is on providing a straightforward, no-frills stay for travelers on a budget.
Services: Essential Offerings with Inconsistent Delivery
Days Inn by Wyndham Parsippany, as a standard budget hotel, is expected to offer a basic set of services crucial for a comfortable stay. A 24-hour front desk is typically available, providing round-the-clock assistance for check-in, check-out, and guest inquiries. However, customer feedback highlights significant issues with service, particularly regarding communication and responsiveness. One review critically notes a "very rude" male receptionist who insisted guests buy drinking water at an "overpriced" rate, and a general expectation for "decent service" given the payment. Another guest reported difficulties with room keys working properly.
The hotel generally offers complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the property, including in guest rooms, which is a standard amenity for most travelers today. For dining, many Days Inn properties provide a complimentary "Daybreak" breakfast, which typically includes coffee, tea, juice, pastries, and some hot items. However, the available reviews do not explicitly confirm this specific amenity for this location, so guests should verify directly. Basic housekeeping services are usually provided, though a review mentioned a request for room cleaning was denied, which is a significant service shortfall. The hotel likely offers free parking, which is a common and essential service for a roadside location. There might also be vending machines for snacks and drinks, and potentially laundry facilities, though these are not explicitly confirmed in the provided information.
The consistency and quality of service appear to be a point of concern based on guest feedback, with instances of unhelpful staff and unfulfilled basic requests. This contrasts with the expectation of polite and efficient service that guests paying a "right amount" would anticipate.
Features: Basic Accommodations with Varied Conditions
Days Inn by Wyndham Parsippany offers a range of guest rooms designed for practicality and affordability. Features typically include comfortable beds, private bathrooms, televisions, and climate control (air conditioning/heating). Rooms are expected to have basic furnishings such as a desk, chair, and wardrobe. Standard amenities often found in Days Inn rooms include a coffee maker, iron/ironing board, and hair dryer. Free toiletries are also usually provided in the bathroom.
However, customer reviews provide a mixed and somewhat critical picture of the physical features of the hotel. While one reviewer states rooms "smell and look pretty clean" and describes the "bathroom was actually pretty nice other than the scuffed door," another had a starkly different experience, encountering an "uncleaned" room with "trash all over the place and used sheets and towels." This inconsistency is a major concern. Specific complaints include "pillows are as hard as a rock" and "not even real pillows, just throw pillows." The "toilet bowl had stains that you wouldn’t even want to guess what they are." The lobby is described as smelling "as old as it looks," and rooms are "a little beat up," with "some walls and doors worse for ware." Despite these concerns, one reviewer did note that a mattress was "clean, looked like a new one even," which can be a positive point for cleanliness-conscious travelers. The presence of elevated surfaces for luggage is also mentioned as a practical feature.
The hotel's overall appearance, as described by guests, suggests that while efforts may be made in some areas, the property may be showing signs of wear and tear, aligning with its budget classification. The key system also appears to have issues, with "trouble with keys working." These features indicate that while the hotel provides basic necessities, guests should manage expectations regarding the level of polish and maintenance.
Promotional Information: Focus on Value and Wyndham Rewards
As a Days Inn by Wyndham property, the hotel participates in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program, which is a significant promotional aspect for repeat guests and those searching on "Hotels Near Of Me." Common promotions often include:
The hotel's primary promotional appeal lies in its "good price," as noted by one reviewer. This positions it as a cost-effective option for travelers who prioritize budget over extensive amenities or pristine conditions. While specific ongoing promotions are best confirmed by visiting the official Wyndham Hotels & Resorts website for Days Inn by Wyndham Parsippany or by contacting the hotel directly at (973) 939-4875, the general strategy for Days Inn properties is to offer competitive pricing. Potential guests should carefully consider the balance between the attractive price point and the reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and service before making a reservation. The negative customer reviews highlight that while the price might be appealing, the overall experience can be significantly impacted by the factors mentioned.

Apr 20, 2025 · Zchel ManuelReviews are skewed bc people with bad experiences tend to leave reviews and people with ok experiences dont. Keep that in mind while you shop They had trouble with keys working but it’s an ok place. Lobby smelled as old as it looks and rooms are a little beat up but they smell and look pretty clean. Some walls and doors are worse for ware but nothing that looks like a hazard. Bathroom was actually pretty nice other than the scuffed door. Checked the mattress because of other reviews but it was clean, looked like a new one even. If you’re really worried there are enough surfaces to put a couple suitcases on elevated surfaces. Clean, pretty nice, and overall alright, especially with the good price.
Apr 25, 2025 · Riy MondiVisited for the Dark Forces Fest. This location was conveniently close, allowing us to easily and quickly return to the hotel between shows we wanted to see over the three day event. The room was clean, the area felt reasonably secure, and the price was right.
May 19, 2025 · Tami HinesUnsafe, unsanitary, and not worth the risk. I was in a pinch and booked this hotel before reading the reviews, thinking it would be decent based on the location.. huge mistake. This hotel felt extremely unsafe — caution tape around parts of the building, greasy floors, a heavy stench of sweat and urine, security warnings on the doors in the rooms.. I was assigned a room in the back building (where my Uber driver warned me it would be worse), and it was completely unacceptable. I didn’t want to touch anything in the room and basically just stood there not more than 15min before I booked another place.
Apr 27, 2025 · LizI would highly not recommend staying here at all. I booked on Priceline for a business event I had in Newark NJ the same day.I did not leave Florida to come to a disgusting place such as this. After I booked I noticed it was a smoking room and I wanted non smoking. When I called the hotel to change it they tried to charge me an extra $75 to get a non smoking room so u left it as it because I was busy at my event. Me and my husband was not pleased but we checked in pretty late due to the event ending late so we were very tired from the event all day. And then have to come to sleep in this is outrageous. The whole smelled like cigarettes, all around the room and bathroom the walls were dirty. The bed cover had cigarette burns holes in it. The carpet dirty stains, the small frigde. This whole place needs to be torn down and rebuilded. The pictures are not updated either so it’s false advertising do not book here. 0 stars.
