Stayed two nights using miles. My room was actually quite large (RM 225) and had 2 full sized beds and everything in it worked and was clean. Fridge and microwave worked well. It didn't smell of smoke, was quiet, and thank god there wasn't any carpet as entire complex pretty old. *No in-room coffee* so you head down to the front desk for the community pot/hot water when you wake up. *No breakfast* is offered either despite what my original booking site said. There is *no elevator* but I pack light and the guy behind the counter did offer to help me with bags. You could walk next door to a diner and there is a Dunkin and pizza place close as well. Shower is going to have very basic small bars of soap and a shampoo. There is a hair dryer. One ice machine exists in the basement and it was next to a candy vending machine that either wasn't working or not plugged in. Not the worst place to stay but would probably look elsewhere when I'm in town again. Definitely bring your own instant coffee and food etc to be comfortable.

Days Inn by Wyndham Pittsburgh Introduce

For travelers exploring Pittsburgh on a budget, the Days Inn by Wyndham Pittsburgh, located at 1150 Banksville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, USA, offers a practical and affordable accommodation option. Often appearing in searches for "Hotels Near Of Me," this hotel caters to guests who prioritize essential comforts and a convenient location over extensive luxury amenities, making it a suitable choice for a straightforward stay in the Steel City.

Environment and Ambiance

The Days Inn by Wyndham Pittsburgh is a property that reflects its age (built in 1959, renovated in 2012), with a more classic, dated appearance, as noted by some guests. However, it strives to maintain a clean and functional environment. Many rooms are described as quite large, providing ample space for guests. Crucially, the hotel endeavors to keep its spaces free from unpleasant odors, with specific mentions of rooms not smelling of smoke. While some common areas, like hallways, might appear dark, the overall cleanliness of individual rooms is generally appreciated. The property offers a relatively quiet atmosphere, allowing for a good night's sleep despite being situated on Banksville Road. It's important to note that the complex generally lacks carpet in rooms, which some guests prefer for cleanliness reasons.

Essential Services

The hotel offers core services aimed at providing a hassle-free stay. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, with staff often described as friendly and helpful, even during late-night check-ins. Guests have noted that staff are willing to assist with luggage, which is a useful service given the absence of an elevator (for upper floors) in parts of the building. Housekeeping services are available, with daily room services appreciated by guests who mentioned receiving new towels and bed sheets daily. Complimentary coffee and hot water are available at the front desk area for guests to start their day. While a full, hot breakfast is not consistently offered (some booking sites may incorrectly state it), guests have reported receiving a "grab-and-go" breakfast, which can be a convenient option. Free self-parking is available on-site, including ample space for RVs, buses, and trucks, which is a significant advantage for travelers with larger vehicles.

Key Features and Amenities

The rooms at Days Inn by Wyndham Pittsburgh are equipped with fundamental amenities for a comfortable stay. Each room typically includes a flat-screen TV with premium cable channels, a refrigerator, and a microwave, allowing guests to store and prepare their own food. While in-room coffee makers are not standard, as noted by some guests, communal coffee is available at the front desk. Other in-room features include air conditioning, a work desk, hair dryer, and basic toiletries (small bars of soap and shampoo). Beds are generally described as adequate, though some reviews mention stains on towels or bedding, which is a point for potential improvement.

The hotel provides complimentary wired and wireless internet access in public areas and often in rooms, enabling guests to stay connected. A seasonal outdoor pool is available for relaxation and recreation during warmer months. For those looking to stay active, there is a fitness room equipped with a treadmill, lifting equipment, and weight balls. However, it's worth noting that the swimming pool may be closed for renovation at times, so it's advisable to confirm its availability. An ice machine and vending machines for snacks and drinks are present, though their functionality may vary. The hotel also offers laundry facilities, which can be particularly useful for extended stays.

Promotional Information and Location Advantages

As part of the Wyndham family, Days Inn by Wyndham Pittsburgh participates in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program. Members can earn points on their stays and often access exclusive rates and promotions, such as "Members Save 10–20% with our Wyndham Rewards Rate." Guests are encouraged to check the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts website for current deals and packages that can make a stay even more economical. The hotel is often chosen for its affordability relative to other options in Pittsburgh.

The hotel's address at 1150 Banksville Rd positions it very conveniently to downtown Pittsburgh. It's typically a short 10-15 minute drive to major attractions like Heinz Field (Acrisure Stadium), PNC Park, PPG Paints Arena, and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. This proximity makes it a practical base for attending sporting events, concerts, conventions, or exploring the city's cultural offerings without incurring the higher costs of downtown hotels. Additionally, the location provides easy access to nearby dining options, including a diner next door, a Dunkin', and a pizza place, adding to guest convenience. The hotel is also noted for being smoke-free, which is a plus for many guests. While some aspects of the hotel's older infrastructure (like slow elevators) are mentioned in reviews, its affordability and strategic location remain its primary draws for many travelers seeking a straightforward stay in Pittsburgh.

Beds were okay but there were stains. My towel for the shower literally looked like a shop rag and had holes in it. our shower did not drain fast. I'm talking it took all night to drain. So I was stepping in water up to my ankles as I was showering. Also, the toilet got clogged but they somehow didn't have any plunger? Really weird. It looks clean upon arrival but the small details of it are not clean at all.

I booked 2 rooms here for 1 night almost 2 months ago. When I got to the Days Inn the only rooms that were ready and close to each other were in "The Basement". Checkin is at 3pm and it was 3:45pm and I was told no other rooms close to each other were ready yet. Both rooms were far from impressive and only had a super small window close to the ceiling. One of our rooms had a large disgusting toenail clipping on the bed! Along with a non-flushing toilet, a fire alarm the was hanging from the wall, and a pizza box with crust in it behind the chair in the corner!!! The vending machine was not working and also the ice machine was out of service!!! The only nice thing I have to say about this hotel is that the young man at the front desk overnight was very kind and a joy to talk to about my complaints. Though he explained he only fills in there when someone is not around. Oh and then the free breakfast was a paper bag consisting of a very small apple, an orange juice, and a muffin. Thanks! 👌 This hotel should not be operating business. If I could put 0 stars I would!

—5 stars Awful place to stay I would not recommend anyone ever staying here. We had problems checking in due to a family member booking room and using his points for a free night… Don’t worry manager made sure everyone in the lobby was aware trying to embarrass my husband. Then once checked in the manager was upset it was a family and not an individual. Which out of her own mouth is her job to find out how many people will be staying not my problem.. Why would an individual get a room with 2 beds. She informed my husband we could stay but not eat breakfast which I wouldn’t eat anything from here anyways… She never told us what the room number just that it was in the basement like that was our punishment for using points to get a free room. The room smelled like cigarette smoke was dirty the toilet rocked when you sat on it. Overall just nasty

The good: Staff were nice people. The bed was nice. The bad: The room's floor was disgustingly dirty. I used a hand towel on the floor, see picture. The door frame was bent allowing clear view of the hallway with the door closed. The bathroom light was dimmed with low wattage bulbs making it difficult to see the dirt and hairs on the floor.
