Get directionsWhat a gem of a place to stay. We were cycling out of the city and it is perfectly located and has everything you need as a cyclist to put bikes together and get on your way. Rooms and bathrooms are good, shared living area really nice and a great place to meet others over breakfast or last thing before bed. Paul looked after us so well and loads of recommendations of what to do. Highly recommend.
May 17, 2025 · Richie SheldonWe loved our stay here! It was like nothing we ever experienced and I would highly recommend. The history of the building was preserved and yet modern amenities equipped all the rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. We arrived late and met a few other guests who were very friendly. Then we met Paul and Mary Beth the next day and they were also very friendly and accommodating. Their dog Peabody was so sweet! I loved that the staircase is lined with books and games. And no one was bothered by my kids playing the piano in the Great Room! Seriously if you are looking for a unique lodging experience that's relaxing and located near Pittsburgh's hot spots, come here!!
Mar 24, 2025 · Diana ElderMy whole biking group of 6 stayed here before the GAP ride. Paul was an exceptional host, he worked with the ever changing group requirements and made our stay pleasant. Gave us great suggestions on food and things to do. The hotel is a cute place to unwind. The beds were comfortable. I will definitely come back and stay here in the future.
May 13, 2025 · Puneeth ShivarayaWe've backpacked around the world, and Travelers Rest may be the coolest place we've ever stayed. Paul and MaryBeth truly care about the guest experience, and it shows. The basics are all perfect: Great mattresses, nice sheets, silent ceiling fans, fabulous breakfast food, convenient bike parking. Paul gave us the perfect dinner recommendation and two first aid kits to patch up our road burns. The Byer's Suite was perfect for a family with a teenager. The Gilded Age elegance of the room and the common area was breathtaking. The location is convenient if you're a walker, but the immediate couple blocks are industrial and post-industrial. Still, if you're an adventurous traveler and if you're looking for a place with true hospitality that has nailed every detail, this is it.
Apr 24, 2025 · Ellen SimonWhat a wonderful stay! 7 of us enjoyed a mini- college reunion at Traveler's Rest and had a delightful visit. We loved the beautiful living room and spent many enjoyable evenings there. Breakfasts were just right. Beds were very comfortable and nights were quiet. Marybeth and Paul were terrific hosts and clearly love what they do. I highly recommend Traveler's Rest.
