Had a great experience with a very friendly staff who was incredibly helpful with parking and with suggestions on what to do while we were in the area. The hotel is going through some renovations, but it was no bother, and what has been completed so far is beautiful. We had a great room. Kudos to the staff at this hotel!

Apr 06, 2025 · Curtis StaleyUnder construction but our fridge didn't work during our stay. Front desk staff were great especially this young woman but wish we'd stayed elsewhere. We asked for a rate reduction (10 bucks a night) and they acted like we asked for an organ donation
May 14, 2025 · Rock ManI’m writing to document a deeply disappointing experience during a recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Southside, booked by CARF International for an audit. Upon arrival, my colleague and I were shocked by the condition of the property—the lobby, hallways, and elevator were in disrepair. The front desk informed us the hotel was under construction. After a long flight, I asked for bottled water, either complimentary or for purchase, and was told there was none. That night, I had to drink tap water from a bathroom cup. After a 12-hour workday, I returned to find my bed unmade and no towels. When I called the front desk, the staff insisted the room had been cleaned. When I said it hadn’t, she replied, “I’m not housekeeping—what do you want me to do?” I asked for the manager, but she refused to give a name. When I said I’d file a complaint, she replied, “Do it then, that’s fine,” and hung up. I called back three times—no answer. I went downstairs. She denied hanging up and said, “Do I look like housekeeping?” I explained I was a paying guest who deserved respect. She accused me of threatening her (which I did not) and said I was being checked out—at 11:00 p.m. The security guard tried to de-escalate and told her she was taking it too far, but she insisted, “I’m in charge—she has to go.” Police arrived. I asked the officer to speak with the guard who witnessed it. He refused, saying he was only enforcing the removal. I was forced to leave at 11:00 p.m. in a city where I don’t live. Thankfully, the Omni Hotel accommodated me after I explained what happened. This was unacceptable. Whether racism or awful service, I was disrespected, denied hospitality, and evicted for requesting basic service. Neither I, my company, nor our partners will use the Holiday Inn brand going forward. I’ll be sharing this widely so others—especially travelers of color—know how guests are treated here. Holiday Inn must take a hard look at this property and its staff.
Mar 26, 2025 · Tava ScottStayed here for the AC/DC concert. They were remodeling which was no big deal. My complaints are we had 4 people in the room and after dinner had a bunch of leftovers, probably around 50$ worth, and the refrigerator wasn't working which we didn't know until the next day after it was all spoiled. Also, they closed the breakfast early which caused 2 of us to not be able to eat. Told the clerk when we checked out and barely got a response. I stay at IHG properties all the time and was a little disappointed in the response. They did provide us with an early check-in, which was wonderful as the clerk was fun and interacted with a lot of people, and complimentary parking due to the ongoing construction which looks very nice.
May 12, 2025 · Brian ToyeWhat an absolute nightmare of a hotel. First of all, they are renovating so I will say the lobby and rooms (that are finished look good) but that is about all I can say in terms of positives. First there is that nasty speaking front desk person, Farhand or something like that. His tone of voice was disrespectful and he seemed to not really care about anything. Seemed extremely lazy and did not care to meet our needs. Then the back gate was open all night long, which left any car there open to being robbed. No pool, no gym in case you were wondering. Also I swear I saw a roach in the bathroom at one point to which the front desk was no help.
