When local users turn to "Hotels Near Of Me" platforms in their search for accommodation in Utica, NY, they will encounter a variety of options, including the Days Inn by Wyndham Utica. Located at 150 N Genesee St, Utica, NY 13502, USA, this hotel operates under the widely recognized Wyndham brand, typically associated with value and accessibility. It's crucial for prospective guests to have a comprehensive and objective understanding of what this particular establishment offers, encompassing its environment, services, features, and any promotional aspects, while also acknowledging recent customer experiences to provide a balanced introduction.
The environment of the Days Inn by Wyndham Utica is primarily characterized by its location on North Genesee Street, a significant commercial corridor in Utica. This placement offers highly convenient access to Interstate 90, the New York State Thruway, making it easily accessible for travelers arriving by car and providing a direct route to various points of interest in Central New York. The immediate vicinity typically includes a mix of other businesses, retail establishments, and a variety of dining options, ranging from fast food to more casual sit-down restaurants. This commercial setting means guests will find amenities and services within a short driving distance. While it provides practicality for travelers, it is not situated in a quiet, secluded area, but rather in a more active, accessible part of the city. For those visiting Utica's attractions, such as the downtown area with The Stanley Theatre or the Adirondack Bank Center, these are typically a short drive away. It is important to note that, as a commercial area, the external environment may reflect typical urban characteristics, which can vary depending on the specific block.
Regarding services, Days Inn by Wyndham Utica, like most budget-friendly hotels, offers fundamental amenities. Typically, guests can expect complimentary Wi-Fi access, which is a standard offering crucial for modern travelers to stay connected. The hotel usually provides some form of complimentary breakfast, although customer reviews suggest this may be limited to "prepackaged single donuts," indicating a very basic continental offering. Ample parking is generally available on-site, a significant convenience for guests traveling with vehicles. The presence of a front desk is standard for check-in and assistance, and customer reviews specifically highlight the positive aspect of "the people working at this location," describing them as "very nice." This suggests a commitment to friendly guest interaction despite other potential challenges. However, a critical service aspect noted by reviewers is the lack of an elevator, meaning "stairs are the only option for the second floor." This poses a significant accessibility issue for guests with "mobility issues," making it imperative for potential bookers to consider this limitation if accessibility is a requirement. While basic services like a 24-hour front desk might be available, the provided feedback suggests guests should manage expectations regarding comprehensive service offerings often found in higher-tier hotels.
The features of the Days Inn by Wyndham Utica, based on customer feedback, present a mixed picture. Rooms are generally expected to offer standard amenities such as a bed, a television, and a private bathroom. However, customer reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the condition of the rooms, with comments like "Rooms do not match what they show online," "Loose Floors, stains on the walls and ceilings," "Stains on the sheets," "Lights coming out of the ceiling," "Missing covers for electrical outlets," "TV has no signal," "No toilet paper holder and broken toilet seat." These direct observations point to potential issues with maintenance and overall room upkeep. The lack of accessibility features, specifically the absence of an elevator, is a major feature limitation for guests with mobility challenges. While the hotel aims to provide basic comfort, the reported issues suggest that the actual state of the facilities may not align with typical guest expectations for a comfortable stay. The design and features likely lean towards a functional, no-frills approach, which is common for budget hotels, but the extent of the reported deficiencies goes beyond simple minimalism. The "overall not what you would expect for the cost" comment implies a perceived mismatch between the nightly rate and the quality of the features provided.
For promotional information, Days Inn by Wyndham Utica, like other properties on "Hotels Near Of Me," would typically highlight its affordability and convenient location. Promotions might include competitive nightly rates to attract budget-conscious travelers. Wyndham Rewards, the brand's loyalty program, would be promoted, offering members points for stays that can be redeemed for future bookings, along with member-exclusive rates. The hotel might emphasize its easy access to I-90 and its proximity to various dining options. Pet-friendly policies are often a key promotional point for Days Inn properties, appealing to guests traveling with animals. While customer reviews mention specific issues, the general marketing on a "Hotels Near Of Me" platform would focus on the brand's promise of a straightforward, accessible stay. The hotel might advertise special rates for business travelers or short stopovers. Given the feedback, any promotional material should be carefully considered against the actual guest experience. The phone numbers, (315) 797-8743 and +1 315-797-8743, would be listed for direct inquiries about availability, rates, and any specific concerns guests might have regarding accessibility or room conditions, which is crucial for transparency. Promotions might also subtly lean on the idea of being a functional base for exploring the Utica area, rather than a destination in itself.
In conclusion, the Days Inn by Wyndham Utica at 150 N Genesee St, Utica, NY 13502, USA, is presented as an option for local users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me." Its environment offers practical access to major roadways and nearby commercial amenities. While the staff are consistently praised for their friendliness, potential guests should be aware of significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding the condition of rooms, lack of essential features like an elevator, and the basic nature of the complimentary breakfast. Promotional information would likely focus on affordability and convenient location, but it is critical for users to consider the detailed feedback regarding the actual features and amenities offered. Prospective guests are advised to manage their expectations regarding the overall quality of the physical premises, particularly concerning room conditions and accessibility.

May 10, 2025 · Scott LohmeyerThe only saving grace was the people working at this location. Do not book here. No elevator, no accessibility if you have mobility issues go somewhere else, stairs are the only option for the second floor. Hotel fridge was leaking, toilet seat was not attached, the entire area felt incredibly unsafe. I'd go anywhere else if possible, no idea how it has a 3.5 rating
May 19, 2025 · Jovia SadrnooriThis is not a good hotel. It has the Wyndham name but the overall service is awful. Handicap bathroom has barriers. No walk in tub. No complimentary products or sundry shop to purchase them from. The worst thing is there is no breakfast to talk about unless you consider frozen chocolate donuts, sad cereal bars, and tired apples that’s been around since dirt. I thought it was a bad joke, like the other guests got to the food first. Nope, no food to get to at all. If this is the future of the Wyndham brand, then Wyndham is in big trouble.
May 04, 2025 · Evangelist Constance315The hotel is clean if quite a bit dated, and the staff was friendly. However the location is bad. We ended up checking in and going to our room, when we parked around the side of the building closest to our room, we practically got a contact high from all the pot smoke due to multiple folks sitting in their cars blasting music and smoking. We got into the room which was clean and really would be all we needed. but after about 10 minutes made the decision to not stay there and to a different hotel for the night after witnessing what appeared to be drug deals in the parking lot outside our room window which left us very concerned for our safety.
Feb 11, 2025 · Marc HeringRecent reviews and experience definitely do not match. Only reason giving as high as 3 is because you get what you pay for. Crusty sheets, no lock, cobwebs and 2am domestic outside.
