Mixed Feelings About This Place – Great Location, But Not Worth the Hassle While the location of this hotel is undeniably convenient and scenic, the overall experience left much to be desired. If you are someone who travels frequently and values ease, this might not be the place for you—especially if you book through third-party sites. The price I paid for my stay was my sanity! The cost you’re quoted will likely not reflect the true condition of the hotel. Though you might think you're getting a deal initially, that “deal” quickly turned into a massive headache. I was charged over $600 per night, plus additional holding charges applied multiple times. These repeated charges triggered fraud alerts with my bank and resulted in a temporary freeze, leaving me without access to my checking account for several hours. Adding to the frustration, the hotel does not honor tax-exempt status unless you book directly through their site, which is incredibly inconvenient for travelers like myself. The property itself is dated and could definitely use some upgrades. The balcony would have been a nice touch, if not for the excessive noise that clearly carries through the night. One bright note: the breakfast was genuinely enjoyable and the only standout feature of my stay. BOTTOM LINE: The location might draw you in, but the complications and outdated accommodations just aren't worth it. I would recommend looking elsewhere—especially if you rely on streamlined booking and predictable billing. I ended my trip feeling like the manager did not address the issues with flexibility, demonstrating a noticeable lack of genuine customer service. Unfortunately, this only added to an already exhausting three-night experience. When I return to New Orleans in a couple of weeks, I’ll be staying in the same area—but at a different hotel. I highly suggest you do the same!

The Embassy Suites by Hilton New Orleans boasts an undeniably convenient and scenic location at 315 Julia St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA. This address places it squarely within the city's lively Arts District, also known as the Warehouse District. This neighborhood is a hub of creativity and culture, featuring numerous art galleries, museums, and upscale dining establishments housed within beautifully renovated historic warehouses. For locals, this means being within easy reach of some of the city's most exciting cultural institutions and culinary hotspots, offering a more contemporary New Orleans experience distinct from the classic charm of the French Quarter.
From this central location, accessibility to New Orleans' major attractions is a significant advantage. While not directly on Bourbon Street, the hotel is within a comfortable walking distance or a short streetcar ride to the French Quarter, allowing guests to easily explore its historic streets, iconic nightlife, and world-renowned restaurants. The hotel’s proximity to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center makes it an extremely practical choice for business travelers attending events, eliminating long commutes. Furthermore, its placement in the Arts District means guests are steps away from places like the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the National WWII Museum. For those driving from other parts of Louisiana, the hotel's location offers relatively straightforward access to major roadways, and it’s a convenient drive from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). For us locals in Louisiana, the Embassy Suites by Hilton New Orleans presents a compelling option for a stay in the Crescent City, particularly for those who value space, convenience, and a specific type of New Orleans experience. While some past guests have highlighted areas for improvement regarding property updates and certain billing processes (especially with third-party bookings), the core strengths of this hotel align well with what many Louisianans look for in a city getaway.
Firstly, its location in the Arts District is a significant draw. It offers a fantastic opportunity to explore a different side of New Orleans beyond the immediate buzz of the French Quarter, while still being incredibly accessible to all major attractions. For locals, this means discovering new art galleries, innovative restaurants, and cultural institutions that might not be on the typical tourist radar, making your New Orleans trip feel fresh and engaging. Being close to the Convention Center is also a huge plus for those attending events, eliminating commute stress.
Secondly, the all-suite accommodations are a standout feature. Having a separate living area and bedroom provides ample space to relax, whether you're traveling with family, friends, or simply appreciate the extra room to spread out. This can make a multi-night stay much more comfortable than a standard hotel room. The consistently praised complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast is another excellent perk, saving you time and money each morning – a valuable benefit for any traveler.
Finally, the positive experiences with the valet and front desk staff (like Brice, Marvin, and Sincer) underscore a genuine commitment to customer service, ensuring a welcoming and helpful arrival. While it's always wise to book directly with Hilton to potentially avoid third-party booking complications and ensure tax-exempt status is honored if applicable, the overall package of location, spacious suites, and key amenities like breakfast makes Embassy Suites by Hilton New Orleans a highly suitable and attractive choice for us Louisiana residents looking for a comfortable and convenient base to enjoy everything our vibrant city has to offer. It’s a great option if you’re seeking a blend of cultural exploration and relaxation without being right in the thick of the loudest areas.

Jun 17, 2025 · Cecilia EzernackUpon arrival we were greeted immediately by Brice at the valet stand. He was extremely helpful and took a great care of our cars. We then entered the lobby and were greeted by young men with welcoming smiles and friendly personalities. Marvin and Sincer were very helpful checking us in and answered our questions about some things gs to do in the are. Unfortunately Rosa in the bar and restaurant area must’ve been having an off evening. She seemed disinterested in our presence. Overall/ excellent stay.
Apr 17, 2025 · Anne ScarcellaTwo reservations. 1. I was given a room that was occupied. I returned to the front desk and was given a new room. 2. This is NOT the hotel's fault... but the smell of Marijuana was EVERYWHERE!!! So much so that it was literally nauseating. Not sure if it's a smoke free facility. Other than that, our stay was fantastic!
Jun 06, 2025 · Darius Thomas - CurtisOur stay at Embassy Suites was made wonderful by the staff and outstanding customer service, especially Marcus at the front desk and the woman who is at the front desk overnight who has been working the night shift for about 30 years. The property is older and needs some renovations for sure, as evidenced by the stains on the hallway carpets and leaking roof in the lobby. What makes up for the property's age is the hot omelets made to order each morning, happy hour each night, comfortable mattress, and strong hot, hot water pressure. Also, because of the hotel's central location, we walked everywhere. All things considered, I would definitely come back again.
May 05, 2025 · Tiiffany BethThe room was spacious but the beds are hard!!! And the pillows are way to soft Your head sinks down as if you had no pillow after just a few minutes. That being said, the service was wonderful. All of the staff were friendly and nice The food was wonderful. Happy hour was good. The house keeping was -ok- not great. Our showers had hair in them every day- we were there 5 days. Other than that it was good.
