It was a place to sleep! But I will never stay again! The room smelled of cigarette smoke! And was overall dirty! The stove top and microwave were very rusty! Wasn’t able to sleep much due to hearing everything from the upstairs rooms! The shower looked gross so didn’t even use it! Pay a little extra and stay somewhere else!

The environment of an Extended Stay America property, including the Marlborough location, is typically designed with functionality and self-sufficiency in mind. The general aesthetic is usually straightforward, prioritizing practicality over luxurious decor. The property aims to offer a comfortable and convenient base for guests who are relocating, on long-term business assignments, or simply require kitchen facilities during their travels. While common areas might be minimal compared to full-service hotels, the focus is on the in-room experience. Guests can expect a simple lobby, often with a 24-hour front desk. It's important to note that extended stay hotels sometimes experience higher wear and tear due to the nature of longer guest stays, and this can occasionally be reflected in the general upkeep.
The services at Extended Stay America - Boston - Marlborough are tailored to the needs of extended-stay guests. A key offering is the complimentary "grab-and-go" breakfast, which typically includes items like coffee, hot cereal, and muffins, providing a convenient start to the day. All suites at this location feature a fully equipped kitchen, a defining characteristic of extended stay hotels. This kitchen includes a stovetop, microwave, full-size refrigerator, and often cookware, dishes, and utensils, allowing guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals and save on dining expenses. This feature is particularly valuable for longer durations. On-site guest laundry facilities are another crucial service, available 24/7, enabling guests to manage their personal laundry needs without leaving the property. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all suites and public areas, catering to both business and leisure needs. For those arriving by car, complimentary self-parking is available. Housekeeping services are offered on a scheduled basis for extended stays; for instance, full-service housekeeping is typically provided weekly for stays of eight or more nights, while fresh towels and linens can be exchanged at the front desk as often as needed for shorter stays (1-7 nights). Additional full-service cleaning or refresh services can be purchased for an extra fee. The hotel also accommodates pets, though a non-refundable cleaning fee applies ($25 + tax per day, per pet for the first six nights, then $10 + tax per day, per pet thereafter, with a maximum of two pets up to 50 lbs and specific size restrictions).
The features of the suites at Extended Stay America - Boston - Marlborough are designed to enhance the extended stay experience. Each suite offers a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination and complimentary toiletries. Rooms are air-conditioned and include a flat-screen TV with premium channels, an iron and ironing board, and a desk for a dedicated workspace. Different suite configurations are available, including studio suites with one queen bed, two queen beds, or two double beds, and deluxe studio suites with one king bed and a sofa bed. While the intent is to provide a "home away from home" atmosphere, it is crucial to consider the objective feedback from real customers, which can offer a more nuanced understanding of the hotel's current state. For example, some reviews highlight concerns such as: "The room smelled of cigarette smoke! And was overall dirty! The stove top and microwave were very rusty! Wasn’t able to sleep much due to hearing everything from the upstairs rooms! The shower looked gross so didn’t even use it! Pay a little extra and stay somewhere else!" Another review details multiple room changes due to uncleanliness, including "feces in the toilet/around the cigarette burns in the floor" and "no bathroom light." These significant cleanliness and maintenance issues, along with noise concerns, are important factors for potential guests to weigh. The hotel generally has a 24-hour front desk to assist guests, and it is a non-smoking facility, though customer reviews indicate that smoking issues within rooms may occur.
In terms of promotional information, Extended Stay America regularly offers various deals and discounts that are particularly beneficial for longer stays. Guests can often find special rates for booking seven or more nights, often branded as "STAY longer. Save more." They also have an "Extended Perks" loyalty program, which provides members with exclusive rates and other benefits. Seasonal sales, advance purchase rates, and discounts for AAA/Auto Club members, seniors (55+), military, and government personnel are frequently available. Children under 17 typically stay free when with a parent or guardian. Prospective guests are advised to visit the official Extended Stay America website or call the hotel directly to inquire about current promotions, as these can vary. It's always prudent to review the specific terms and conditions of any offer, especially regarding cancellation policies, which can be stricter for advance purchase rates.
To summarize, Extended Stay America - Boston - Marlborough, as a property within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, is positioned as a practical and economical choice for those requiring extended accommodations with self-catering facilities. Its core offerings of kitchenettes, complimentary breakfast, and on-site laundry cater directly to the needs of long-term guests. However, it is imperative for potential guests to be aware of and consider the consistent themes of cleanliness and maintenance issues highlighted in recent customer reviews. While the hotel aims to provide a functional stay, the reported experiences suggest that the actual condition of the rooms and the property may vary significantly. For a truly objective assessment, future guests should temper their expectations with these candid insights and perhaps consider contacting the hotel directly to confirm recent renovation schedules or specific room conditions, especially if cleanliness is a top priority.

Jan 20, 2025 · Jamie Rankinsdont even get me started we checked in late only to have 3 different rooms first one not being cleaned at all from the past people there clothes left behind, feces in the toilet/around the cigarette burns in the floor the bed was still how the last people left it along with there sheets the second room which took like 30 minutes to get we told the front person the key wouldn't work and then after another 20 minutes he told us the reason our key did not work was because that room was already occupied and his mistake mind you we stood there waisting my time the third room he said he was going to “clean it real quick” not swept nothing it looked like someone was just out of it again no bathroom light, and same as other rooms i think spending the extra money or sleeping in your car is worth it no matter what because NEVER again. i dont want the bs from this place i want a REFUND we all deserve a refund this place is a health hazard bound to happen. OH and we had a manager walk into our room because apparently nobody told him this was occupied and wow its been a day.
Mar 24, 2025 · HaileyThis place is horrible. We stayed here for about a month while waiting for our apartment to be finished. Granted it's a LITTLE cheaper and they offer a kitchenette for long stays. First off the place is dumpy like beaten down motel was their theme. Room service only comes if you stay over a week they claimed multiple times after we had been their multiple weeks. We stayed a month and we had to ask for everything at the front desk as we went on. Cleaners never even came to flip the room our entire stay even when requested. They do not have regular housekeeping only people who flip the rooms once someone leaves. So be prepared to be constantly going up front for new towels or trash bags or soap or shampoo. You need to take out your own trash to their trash room as well. They have laundry for a cost and it was down the entire month we stayed. Very seedy staff constantly leaving the front desk and the manager didn't seem to even know how his POS system worked when we were over charged on MULTIPLE occasions. We had two cards on file one my father used to hold the reservation, then the other I used to pay. About a week into the stay we found my father had multiple transactions from Extended Stay on his card that seemed to be about the amount of a night each. Yet my card was also charged for the room on the same days. When we showed him the charges and how we had been charged for the same room on different cards his response was simply it must just be adding the extra charges.... there aren't even any amenities avaliable for us to be charged extra! After highlighting our receipts and showing him the bank charges his response was "that's just how the computer does it." I tried to explain it to him the basic situation and he simply just didn't even understand, and insisted the random charges on a different card were fine. No one even requested to charge that card on any occasion. This was the general manager of the hotel! Not only that it, happened another two times. Jokes on us for continuing to stay there. There is probably 10 other hotels in the exact area neighboring this hotel that might cost a few dollars more a night. I doubt this place ever gets repeat business, it must just be out of town people who book the cheapest place on trip advisor or whatever and are basically tricked into a horrible over priced experience based on framed pictures the website uses. I honestly couldnt believe how awful this place was for the price especially when they are surrounded by competion. Pick any other hotel in the area there are plenty a stone from this place. I chose not to argue with the manager of the hotel and simply had my bank charge back the nights that were fraudulentlly charged. Only thing I can say positive is the location is close to plenty of other hotels and restaurants. Staff was hardly ever there, manager was awful and cluelessamd extremely rude. Place was very beaten down with literally no amenities. Phone on the room wasn't even plugged in and our alarm clock was horribly broken. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.
Mar 13, 2025 · Austin DoigThe staff were very accommodating. However, the problems that existed, they had no control. First, don't use the vending machines because they are way too expensive; that's if they are in working order. When I arrived the last time, I had no working iron. This time, I had neither the iron nor the iron board. I heard they will no longer offer this service in the future. This is unfortunate because that's one of the reasons I use the hotel. The biggest improvement was hiring better staff.
Dec 15, 2024 · Marcus PritchettWhen we walked in the room, roaches went scattering. Do not stay here! This place should be shut down. Room wasn't clean! Didn't complete my stay went to the Hilton down the road and had a great night's sleep
