Wow… just wow!! This hotel blew my mind quite honestly. This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. From the extremely spacious design, equipped with a full kitchen (that’s right, stovetop, fridge, microwave, and more.) and the cleanliness I was met with when I first walked in, I'm truly stunned. Not only that but we had the most convenient parking, a friendly receptionist, and it’s in quite the sweet little picturesque spot. No hotel could ever compare to this experience, fantastic stay, 100/10, would definitely recommend, worth EVERY penny.
For local users and travelers searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Marlborough, located at 60 River Rd W, Berlin, MA 01503, USA, presents itself as an extended stay option. You can contact them directly at (978) 838-9940 or via mobile at +1 978-838-9940. This hotel offers a unique blend of highly positive attributes related to its physical design and comfort, contrasted sharply by concerning feedback regarding its service and operational consistency. This objective introduction will detail these aspects, providing a comprehensive overview for potential guests.
The environment of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Marlborough, from a physical perspective, is described in glowing terms by one reviewer as "absolutely beautiful" and "blown my mind." The design is "extremely spacious," a hallmark of the Homewood Suites brand which aims to provide apartment-style accommodations. The initial impression upon entry is one of exceptional "cleanliness," with the reviewer being "truly stunned." The hotel is situated in "quite the sweet little picturesque spot," suggesting a pleasant and perhaps tranquil surrounding, which can be a significant advantage for extended stays. The convenience of parking is also highlighted as "most convenient parking." This indicates that the physical premises offer a high standard of aesthetics, spaciousness, and practicality, contributing to a potentially wonderful guest experience.
However, the praise for the environment is dramatically undercut by severe criticism regarding the services. One reviewer details multiple failures, leading them to declare, "Won't be staying here again." The fundamental issue appears to be understaffing, as evidenced by the comment, "How does a hotel that size only have one person working in the evening? Good luck if you need anything after 6pm." This directly impacts service delivery. Specifically, the hotel "are supposed to provide new towels and take out the trash on the 2nd day, they didn't." When fresh towels were requested, the guest was told they "had to go get them because they only had one person on staff and she was covering the desk." This points to a breakdown in basic housekeeping services and a lack of resources to meet guest needs efficiently. Another service failure noted was that "The bottles in the shower were all empty," raising questions about attention to detail and readiness of rooms. The cleanliness standard, so praised upon initial arrival, is further challenged by the observation that a towel used to clean up spilled water was "BLACK from the dirt," leading the guest to question if "mopping is not part of cleaning a room?" This suggests inconsistencies in deep cleaning practices. While one review praised a "friendly receptionist," the overall service experience for the second reviewer was "horrible," indicating a significant disparity in the quality of guest support.
Regarding features, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Marlborough excels in providing amenities tailored for extended stays. The "extremely spacious design" of the rooms, equipped with a "full kitchen (that’s right, stovetop, fridge, microwave, and more.)" is a highly valued feature, allowing guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which is a major cost-saving and convenience factor for longer visits. This feature sets it apart from many traditional hotels. The initial cleanliness upon entry is a strong feature, as is the "convenient parking" and the "picturesque spot" of its location. However, the complimentary breakfast, a standard and often anticipated feature of Homewood Suites, is described as "basically slop." Specific complaints include "The oatmeal was thick and wouldn't even thin out when I added milk. The hard-boiled eggs were hard, like they had been over boiled weeks ago. The English muffins were hard." This indicates a significant drop in quality for a key amenity, detracting from the overall value proposition. The issue with empty shower bottles also points to a failure in maintaining basic in-room amenities. While the physical infrastructure and in-suite features like the full kitchen are excellent, the operational delivery of services and quality of some amenities fall short according to one detailed review.
For promotional information, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Marlborough faces a dual challenge. On one hand, the hotel can genuinely promote its "Wow… just wow!!" factor related to its physical property:
However, to maintain objectivity and manage guest expectations, particularly within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the hotel would also need to address the critical service issues. While explicit promotional efforts to address these may not be public, for a comprehensive introduction, it's important to note the areas that need improvement. These include:
Ultimately, potential guests considering Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Marlborough should be aware of the strong positive aspects related to the physical property and suite features, but also the potential for inconsistent service delivery, especially outside of peak hours, and issues with the quality of certain complimentary amenities. The conflicting reviews suggest that the guest experience can vary significantly, prompting a need for consistent operational excellence to match the high quality of the physical hotel.

May 11, 2025 · Gianna LeeThe hotel itself was absolutely beautiful BUT the service was horrible. 1) They are supposed to provide new towels and take out the trash on the 2nd day, they didn't. When I asked for fresh towels they told me I had to go get them because they only had one person on staff and she was covering the desk. 2) How does a hotel that size only have one person working in the evening? Good luck if you need anything after 6pm. 3) The bottles in the shower were all empty. Why say you provide shampoo, body wash and conditioner if you wont even refill the bottles?? 4) We spilled water on the bathroom floor, cleaned it up, and the towel was BLACK from the dirt. I guess moping is not part of cleaning a room? 5) The breakfast was basically slop. The oatmeal was thick and wouldn't even thin out when I added milk. The hard-boiled eggs were hard, like they had been over boiled weeks ago. The English muffins were hard. Won't be staying here again.
May 18, 2025 · Eva TretoOur stay could not have been better. We stayed in a suite and liked it so much we have already been back. Front desk very helpful! The room and kitchen were immaculate. The breakfast was very well done, as compared with other chains, although over the holidays they have a more limited menu, which is understandable. Pool was clean and looked fun for kids. You can tell that the management and staff care.
Dec 09, 2024 · L MThe location of the hotel is quite convenient at the intersection of two major highways. However, it is set in a alcove and the sound does not bother us or penetrate into the rooms. Parking is great. There is a deli in a gas station nearby. It is a short drive to Shrewsbury, Marlborough, Northborough or Berlin. We were quite happy and satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the daily breakfast. Staff are attentive and provide additional amenities and towels whenever needed. There’s a kitchenette inside the room in the suite even though we did not utilize it, it was good to know that it’s there. The coffee was of exceptional quality every morning. They have packets of hot cocoa, which my granddaughter had at least twice daily. The breakfast includes fresh fruits and bananas. The refrigerator in the room is good to store take away food or salads that we may bring home. Elevators were always working. Front desk lobby staff always greeted on arrival. They have a daily complimentary newspaper, which is where we learned of President Jimmy Carter‘s death earlier this morning. Everything is clean and it smells nice. The towels are fluffy and clean. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash is sulfite free for sensitive skin. Water pressure is good and that they run out of hot water. There are accommodative to pets and we have several of them in the lobby. However, we had specifically requested a pet free room because we did not want the smell of urine in the room. We were pleasantly surprised that none of the corridors or the lobby had any smell of animals. Have a welcome are the best thing we loved about this hotel with the 16 inch mattresses in the room and we had very fulfilling and deep sleep every night which is the best thing that a traveler can ask for. We stayed for seven nights from Christmas through New Year’s.
