I stayed for about three months early last year and didn't really have any issues. My room was nice minus some cosmetic issues in the bathroom but it did not effect my experience. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear your neighbors from time to time but for the most part, the hotel was very quiet during my stay. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful to try and address any need I had.
For individuals utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform to find lodging in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Residences at Solomon Pond presents itself as an apartment-style hotel, often catering to extended stays. Located at 880 Donald Lynch Blvd, Marlborough, MA 01752, USA, this property offers amenities typically found in both hotels and apartments, aiming to provide a 'home with hotel services.' However, prospective guests should be aware of a nuanced set of experiences, as reflected in various customer reviews. This introduction will objectively detail the hotel's environment, services, features, and promotional information, drawing from both positive and critical feedback available online.
Location and Environment:
Residences at Solomon Pond is strategically situated on Donald Lynch Boulevard in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This location is often described as being in a business district, with convenient access to major roadways like I-290 and I-495, and close proximity to key attractions such as Solomon Pond Mall, New England Sports Center, and Apex Entertainment Center. This makes it a practical choice for business travelers, sports enthusiasts, and shoppers alike. The exterior of the property is not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, but as an aparthotel, it likely has a more residential appearance. Internally, the rooms are often described as "nice and clean" and "like stepping into an IKEA store," suggesting a modern and somewhat minimalist aesthetic. However, a significant environmental concern highlighted by reviews is the pervasive issue of "pot smokers are rampant here," with "vapors come through the doors and bathroom fans," even in non-smoking rooms. This can severely impact the air quality and overall comfort for guests sensitive to smoke. Another point of contention is the physical accessibility: "there is no elevator," which means guests assigned to upper-floor rooms must contend with "3 flights of stairs" and "shabby" and "long" hallways. This poses a considerable challenge for guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues.
Contact Information:
For inquiries, reservations, or direct communication, Residences at Solomon Pond can be reached via phone at (508) 460-1000 or mobile phone at +1 508-460-1000. These direct lines are crucial for clarifying specific needs, verifying room availability, and discussing any potential concerns, especially regarding room location (floor) or the hotel's policy on smoking and noise. Given the mixed reviews, direct communication is highly recommended to manage expectations.
Rooms and Amenities:
Residences at Solomon Pond offers 64 apartments or suites, designed for both short and extended stays. A notable feature of these units is the inclusion of "fully equipped, full-sized kitchens" with refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, ovens, dishwashers, coffee makers, and cookware, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and potentially save on dining expenses. The rooms feature flat-screen TVs (often 27-inch or 43-inch) with satellite channels, premium bedding, sofa beds, and separate sitting areas. Free high-speed WiFi is available in both rooms and public areas, with reported speeds of 50+ Mbps. Other in-room amenities typically include an in-room safe, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. While generally described as "nice" and "clean," some cosmetic issues in bathrooms have been noted, though not affecting the overall experience for one guest. "Thin walls" were also mentioned, leading to occasional noise from neighbors, which is a common characteristic of apartment-style lodging.
Beyond the individual rooms, the hotel provides a variety of common amenities to enhance the guest experience:
Services and Guest Experience:
The service aspect of Residences at Solomon Pond receives mixed but generally positive feedback from some guests, particularly regarding the responsiveness of staff. One long-term guest noted that "The staff were all very welcoming and helpful to try and address any need I had." This suggests a commitment to guest satisfaction from the front-line team. The property also boasts "professional on-site management office" and "24-hour emergency maintenance" with "live-in maintenance staff." Daily housekeeping is available, and guests can request changes of bedsheets and towels. However, the service is also criticized, particularly concerning management's handling of the pervasive smoking issue. One guest states, "Mgmt is aware of this but to no avail," indicating a failure to enforce policies or effectively address guest complaints about smoke. This suggests a disconnect between the stated commitment to service and the actual resolution of significant guest discomfort. The lack of an elevator, and the inconvenience it causes for guests with luggage, also falls under the umbrella of service, as it impacts the ease of access and overall guest experience.
Features and Unique Selling Points:
Residences at Solomon Pond's key features and unique selling points center around its apartment-style living with hotel services, making it particularly attractive for extended stays. The "fully equipped, full-sized kitchens" are a significant draw, offering cost savings and flexibility for guests. The pet-friendly policy is another valuable feature for those traveling with animals. The property emphasizes its affordability compared to traditional hotels for longer durations, positioning itself as "inflation-proof housing" with "unbeatable value" and "savings of $800 or more per month" compared to competitors like Marriott or Hilton. Its proximity to business parks, major sports centers, and shopping malls also makes it convenient for various traveler types. The modern design and the availability of amenities like a fitness center, outdoor fire pit, and business center enhance its appeal. The hotel aims to provide a "home with hotel services," offering a blend of privacy and convenience.

Nov 26, 2024 · Heather PloughThis hotel leaves needs a lot of updating. Grant it when you walk into the room it's like stepping into an IKEA store. It's nice and clean HOWEVER, there is no elevator so if you are unfortunate to get a second floor room and you need help getting your belongings to the room... good luck with that. The hallways are shabby and the pot smokers are rampant here, and "yes" they smoke in their rooms so the vapors come through the doors and bathroom fans. Mgmt is aware of this but to no avail. So after you heave ho all your suitcases, etc. up the 3 flights of stairs and your sweating perfussley and still have to travel 8 miles down the shabby hallway, hauling your property, when you do get to your room you will be able to get a nice buzz while you try to recoup on the uncomfortable bed! Beware!
Mar 31, 2025 · Christy BlueHad a reservation through Priceline. Arrived at the location after business hours and couldn’t gain access to my room. There was a lockbox with a code that held my room key. Management claims when you book through Priceline, they withhold contact information so the hotel cannot give you the code but they also refused a refund. Priceline refused the refund because they paid the hotel. Don’t book through Priceline if you will be traveling into this area after business hours. Get the insurance on the stay if staying at this location. This was nothing shy of a headache the moment I parked in their parking lot.
Mar 05, 2025 · Kora MichaudThis was one of the few places we found that could accommodate a one month stay. We couldn’t get out fast enough. Kitchen was recently redone but the walls were scuffed, ceiling stained and bathroom was in rough shape. The worst part was the smell of cigarette smoke in the room. All of our belongings had to be cleaned or thrown out. During our stay we alerted the staff with no response and then again when we left and they said they’d try to fix it for the next people. Which didn’t make up for our health or ruined belongings. The staff was nice, room was stocked with basic necessities, housekeeping and laundry is extra, towels and linens were pretty terrible quality.
