We were in town for a family event and booked 3 rooms. All of them were very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The front desk staff was so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was quite good. It was well stocked and the breakfast manager was very friendly and helpful. Lovely crew at this location.
For local users and travelers searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston - Marlboro by IHG, located at 121 Coolidge St, Hudson, MA 01749, USA, presents a sharply divided set of guest experiences. You can contact them directly at (978) 562-1001 or via mobile at +1 978-562-1001. This objective introduction will detail the contrasting feedback on its environment, services, and features, providing a comprehensive, albeit complex, overview for potential guests.
The environment of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston - Marlboro is subject to vastly different interpretations. One reviewer found their three booked rooms to be "very clean, comfortable, and quiet," indicating a pleasant and well-maintained atmosphere conducive to a restful stay. This suggests that for some guests, the hotel successfully delivers on the expected standards of a modern Holiday Inn Express property. However, another review paints a dramatically negative picture, stating "The place stinks of pot" and describing the "guests" as "incredibly loud," with "Bangs so loud in the middle of the night the floor shook, they throwing furniture Arguing. Fighting. Cursing. Loud TVs." This stark contrast in reported noise levels and guest behavior suggests a highly inconsistent and potentially disruptive environment for some visitors. The second reviewer also points to "shabby" rooms with "cracked sink and damage," which they believe supports the hotel being a "halfway house or some sort of long term stay place," noting "no business traveler dents walls." This raises concerns about the general upkeep and type of clientele, which could significantly impact the overall guest experience, depending on the occupancy and specific circumstances during a stay.
Regarding services, there's a clear dichotomy in guest feedback. One review enthusiastically praises the "front desk staff" as "so friendly and accommodating" and highlights the "breakfast manager" as "very friendly and helpful," concluding there's a "Lovely crew at this location." This indicates that the staff, when interacting positively, provides excellent service. The breakfast itself was described as "quite good" and "well stocked," suggesting that a core service amenity is well-managed under normal circumstances. Conversely, the second reviewer, while acknowledging the front desk person was "perfectly polite," had a problematic check-in where, despite an empty parking lot, they were told the hotel was "sold out" except for one room. This points to potential discrepancies in availability management or communication. More critically, the disruptive guest behavior described (arguing, fighting, cursing, loud noises) suggests a potential lack of effective intervention or security measures by staff to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests, a fundamental service expectation of any hotel.
The features of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston - Marlboro, as interpreted from the reviews, include comfortable rooms that are generally clean and quiet for some guests. The complimentary breakfast is highlighted as a positive feature by one reviewer, being "well stocked" and "quite good." This is a standard and valued amenity of the Holiday Inn Express brand. However, the opposing review notes "No water pressure" in the rooms, and physical damage like a "cracked sink and damage" which contradicts the "clean and comfortable" assessment from the other guest. The "suites" aspect of the name implies larger rooms or separate living areas, which is a standard feature for this brand, catering to guests needing more space. The observation of "swarms of adult men with bloodshot eyes" piling into an "unmarked van" suggests a specific type of clientele or long-term guest, which, while not a feature in itself, significantly impacts the overall experience and perception of the hotel's typical guest demographic. The presence of a parking lot is a given, but the issue of it being empty yet the hotel supposedly "sold out" points to potential operational or client-specific parking arrangements that aren't transparent to regular guests.
For promotional information, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston - Marlboro by IHG would ideally emphasize its strengths based on the positive review. Key promotional messages could include:
However, an objective introduction must also acknowledge the severe negative feedback. While a hotel's direct promotional materials would not include such criticisms, local users searching in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category need to be aware of the widely divergent experiences. The hotel faces a significant challenge in managing its reputation given the specific allegations of it functioning as a "halfway house or refugee hotel," the rampant noise, drug smell, and disruptive guest behavior. These issues, if accurate, fundamentally undermine the brand promise of comfort and peace, particularly for business travelers or families seeking a conventional hotel stay. Therefore, while promotional efforts would focus on the positive aspects, the hotel would implicitly need to address the underlying operational challenges that lead to such extreme negative experiences to ensure a consistent and positive stay for all guests. The stark contrast in reviews suggests that guest experiences at this particular Holiday Inn Express & Suites can vary dramatically, and potential visitors should consider this variability when making their booking decision.

May 08, 2025 路 Rosalind DeptulaFrankly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I picked it based on the rating and needed a road trip stop. The parking lot was empty, but the front desk (she was perfectly polite) said they were "sold out" and only had one room. The place stinks of pot and everything I experienced indicates this hotel is a halfway house or refugee hotel. I noticed other reviews say the same. The "guests" were incredibly loud. Bangs so loud in the middle of the night the floor shook, they throwing furniture Arguing. Fighting. Cursing. Loud TVs. No water pressure. The rooms were shabby with a cracked sink and damage that supports it being a halfway house or some sort of long term stay place, as no business traveler dents walls. In the morning, swarms of adult men with bloodshot eyes were in the lobby and they piled into an unmarked van, as they have no cars. Skip this hotel.

May 12, 2025 路 Marie SmithWe managed one night here. Reading the other reviews it appears that we did not get one of the renovated rooms but one that is need of a lot of maintenance. The room itself was reasonably clean but the blinds were tattered and took a bit to get the light blocking shade to cover everything which was important with the bright lights out front shining into the room otherwise. We were initially greeted by a smell in the 2nd floor hallway which was bad enough that they had the window at the end of the hallway open. The water pressure was the worst that I have ever had in a hotel. Fortunately we didn鈥檛 want to take a bath as the diverter didn鈥檛 work and the water was only directed to the showerhead. The worst part was that they installed motion detecting light switches in the entryway and in the bathroom. While this may be good for the hotel鈥檚 electric bill it is horrible when you get up in the middle of the night and are blinded by the lights automatically coming on. And there was no switch to disable the sensor. The breakfast was fine but the juices seemed to be watered down compared to the large number of Holiday Inn Expresses that we have stayed at. We will likely look elsewhere the next time that we are in the area.
Apr 15, 2025 路 JT DQNice updated rooms. Very clean & spacious! Happy there was no funny smells like some other holiday inns. Would have liked a nice shower instead of tub. Breakfast was fine, like other holiday inns. Not very crowded. Overall, very happy. Great value.
