Finding a nice hotel with a full kitchenette at a reasonable price in this area is tough, but Grey Fox Inn nailed it! We stayed here for 4 nights before Christmas for a skiing trip to Stowe. The location is super convenient since the #108 bus to Stowe ski resort stops right in front of the inn, which we took every day. I loved the kitchenette in our room—it had an electric stove, microwave, and a full-size fridge, which was perfect for our family traveling with a baby. The room was newly remodeled, clean, and well-designed, and we even had a balcony overlooking the peaceful backyard. The room was a bit small, but it worked just fine for us. The only drawback was you having to walk outside for a short distance to get to the indoor pool. I wish there was a corridor connecting the room building and the pool. A friend of mine stayed at another hotel without a stove and had to wait until 8 PM to have dinner at a restaurant, so we were really glad we chose Grey Fox Inn. The manager, Nicole, was super nice and promptly answered and resolved our questions. Overall, I highly recommend this place in winter!

Jan 02, 2025 · Esther LiPerfect spring break with our 4 year old. Our queen suite was cozy but still perfect for everyone getting a good night's rest (I wish more hotels had this option for families!). We had the pool, hot tub, and sauna to ourselves because it was the off season (mid April) and never had to wait for a table at the great local restaurants. There is still so much to do in the area even when it's not ski or foliage season.
Apr 17, 2025 · Bridget CollinsIf you’re considering booking here, DON'T!! This was, without a doubt, the most appalling customer service experience I have ever had. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I needed to cancel my reservation. I called just four hours past their policy cutoff, which was set an entire week before check-in, making it absurd to think that my call just a few hours late would have made any difference to them. I understand that policies exist for a reason, but there are moments when basic human understanding should apply. Instead, I was met with rude, hostile, and unprofessional behavior. The woman I spoke with flat-out refused to have a conversation, snapped at me, abruptly hung up, and then ignored my follow-up calls like a child throwing a tantrum. When she finally answered again, she immediately put me on hold and left me there. This was not just bad service. This was a person who seemed to take pride in being as unhelpful and rude as possible. No business should ever let someone like this represent them. Accepting that they would keep my one-night deposit, I asked if we could adjust the four-night reservation to a three-night stay, allowing them to still receive payment for three nights instead of just the deposit. This was not an unreasonable request. It offered a way for them to enforce their policy while still accommodating a paying guest. Any business that values its guests would recognize this as an opportunity to provide basic customer service and apply common sense. Instead, they refused again, showing zero willingness to work with their guests. What makes this worse is that I am far from the only one to experience this. Multiple reviews mention this same manager, yet upper management has done nothing. The silence speaks volumes. Either they don’t care, or they believe this is acceptable. Save yourself the frustration. There are plenty of better hotels that actually care about and respect their guests.
Feb 27, 2025 · Stephanie SteckerMy family and I had a reservation for March7th-9th as a birthday present for my daughter. Unfortunately, both our children ended up with the flu. When I tried rescheduling our stay to a later date, the hotel declined the request. I contacted the hotel directly upon learning the request was declined and was told that their policy is that no changes can be made to the reservation outside the 7-day cancellation window. While I can appreciate their policy, I do feel that it is very rigid, inflexible and shows poor customer service to not make any exceptions, especially to those with children whose health is often unpredictable. The woman I spoke with, who was the manager I might add, was not very understanding to our circumstance, and quite frankly was rude to me when she ended the call and hung up on me. I heeded her advice, trying to contact booking.com directly since she told me that there was “nothing they could do to help me because I booked through a 3rd party.” Of course, trying to get a phone number for an actual person at Bookkng.com is next to impossible and I continued to be redirected back to the hotel directly. Even if I had found a way to contact someone at booking.com, it is the hotel’s policy, not booking.com’s policy to not allow changes outside the 7-day window, even for extenuating circumstances. I was left with no choice but to cancel my reservation, face a $25 cancellation fee as well as a first night deposit fee of $265 ($290 total). Let me just reiterate, we DID NOT want to CANCEL our trip, we were trying to RESCHEDULE due to illness and the hotel was unwilling to accommodate any change. This is no way to treat paying customers. After looking into reviews of this hotel on Reddit, they have a history of demonstrating poor customer service and an inflexibility when it comes to customers with hardships.
Mar 06, 2025 · Lia Peacock-MelonWe checked in late and they had our keys in an envelope ready with a note on how to find our room. Service, room and location all great. Thanks for a great stay!
