However, some reviews also point out areas for improvement, particularly regarding communication and consistency of services. One detailed review noted a "major disappointment" with housekeeping service, where toilet paper ran out and fresh towels had to be requested, with confusing discrepancies regarding service availability. Another issue raised was "lukewarm shower water," which is certainly "not what you want after braving Stowe's cold and windy slopes all day." Concerns about the breakfast being "underwhelming" and the use of small paper cups and plastic utensils contradicting "promoted environmental friendliness" were also mentioned. Despite these specific points, the overarching sentiment from multiple sources emphasizes Stoweflake's potential and its many positive attributes: its excellent location, comfortable common areas, and valuable shuttle service. The resort aims to provide a luxurious escape, and while specific service delivery can vary, its extensive facilities, prime location, and beautiful setting make it a significant contender for those seeking a comprehensive resort experience in Stowe, Vermont, when searching under "Hotels Near Of Me."

Stoweflake has a good location and some nice features, but fell short of expectations during our recent ski trip. The property offers comfortable common areas with cozy fireplaces and in-room fireplaces which we enjoyed. The major disappointment was discovering no housekeeping service—we ran out of toilet paper and had to request fresh towels from the front desk. This wasn't communicated during check-in, and confusingly, a plaque in our room suggested housekeeping would be available. Even more frustrating, other members of our group somehow received housekeeping service. Another significant issue was the lukewarm shower water—definitely not what you want after braving Stowe's cold and windy slopes all day. Breakfast was underwhelming—a basic continental spread, though the coffee was good. The small paper coffee cups and plastic utensils seemed particularly at odds with their promoted environmental friendliness. On the positive side, the shuttle to Stowe Mansfield area is convenient, though it takes longer than advertised (over 23 minutes). The location is excellent for accessing local highlights like Edson Hill, The Alchemist brewery, and Idlethyme. Overall, Stoweflake has potential but needs to address basic comfort issues, improve communication about services, and align their sustainability practices with their marketing to justify the price point.

EXCELLENT! Would absolutely stay here again. The room was so clean and very comfortable. Very convenient to walking path, Stowe mountain, restaurants and shopping. Great continental breakfast. Such a great atmosphere of old meeting new. Can't say enough about how lovely the staff was. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Well, the resort is gorgeous, the staff is wonderful and it’s minutes from downtown stowe. There’s a cozy fireplace in your room alongside a very comfortable whirlpool tub. It’s just…VERY family friendly. For some reason, they placed the steam room and the sauna right next to the game room. So, while you’re trying to relax and get your heat therapy on, screaming kids. The pool, screaming kids. The outdoor hot tub, small, which by itself isn’t a problem, but that means you really can’t snag a corner to yourself without screaming kids doing canon balls. You’d think you might find some serenity in your fireplace, whirlpool tub room, BUT, screaming kids running up and down the hallway. So, if you’re bringing a family, this place is perfect for you. But if you’re a couple looking for a relaxing romantic weekend getaway, this probably isn’t the place for you.

We had a lovely stay at the stoweflake inn this past weekend on our spring ski trip to Stowe. We were especially pleased with the recreation center, pool, and large outdoor hot tub. The staff was gracious and insured we had an enjoyable experience. The complimentary breakfast was a little lack luster- but you can’t ask for everything. Thank you for a great weekend.
