We have stayed here twice now and absolutely LOVE this family-owned gem. Great rooms, tidy and well suited for ski gear, lovely pool and fantastic covered outdoor hot tub, well-appointed and comfy family room with an active wood fireplace, loads of books, games and puzzles, complete with dog beds! It is beautifully situated along the little river, with lots of space to run around (for kids and dogs and you too) and lounge chairs, a hammock, and a fire pit. And if you need more action, there's a well-maintained mini golf course and a great little bowling alley attached to a delicious restaurant. Most importantly though, the service is outstanding - staff are so friendly and helpful, with real warmth and attention to each lodger's needs. Plus they love dogs and have regular afternoon treats (for dogs and humans). Don't be put off by the construction - a very thoughtful expansion - it's not loud or dirty and doesn't affect the stay at all.

Apr 29, 2025 · Samantha HicksThe main attraction for us was the shuttle to and from the mountain. The Front desk was very responsive and always picked up the phone. they had 24/7 coffee and cookies in the afternoon. The room had all your basic needs and was clean. We were able to get a dog friendly room and our room was Conveniently located next to the stairs. We also made use of the hottub both nights. The bowling alley was a nice place to eat dinner our last night there.
Feb 11, 2025 · GeenaGreat location, front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, hotel has a hot tub that was perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing. I’m incredibly disappointed in the rooms. The photos and description of what I booked showed a desk, which I needed for work. Instead was a small square table and two oversized chairs that awkwardly don’t fit in the space. (They only fit when facing away from the table, so the table and chairs are not functional.) The main reason I needed to find a place to stay was for sleep. The beds are PAINFULLY uncomfortable. It seems like they recently renovated to add a bowling alley, but a hotel with uncomfortable beds and a bowling alley seems like a complete waste of money. My back hurt every single morning I woke up (making skiing difficult). I will not stay here again and I will not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good night’s sleep. It’s quiet here, but the beds are hard as a rock and slide around on the plastic platforms they’re on. Breakfast is all boxed food: muffins wrapped in plastic wrap, cereal, small containers of yogurt, and coffee. Spend your money elsewhere. The disappointment of this place is not worth the few good amenities they have.
Jan 07, 2025 · Heather StewartMy family and I stayed at Sun & Ski in November to enjoy sightseeing/hiking in the Stowe area and northern Vermont. Our experience at Sun & Ski was lovely and we will definitely be back. Sun & Ski offers hotel rooms that are small but have most necessary amenities and accommodations. The condition of the room was clean and well-maintained. It’s clear that the hotel cared about the quality of the rooms. Parking was easy and convenient too as we could park directly in front of our hotel room. The hotel itself is very cute and very family friendly. They have a small indoor pool and a small hot tub that is well-ventilated to the outdoors which my family and I appreciated. The hotel also includes a bowling alley that you can pay extra for to bowl with I think is pretty cool although we didn’t get a chance to use it. The hotel also included complimentary continental breakfast which had yogurts, bagels, muffins, cereal, snack bars and fruit. Not a full meal but still appreciated that they provide this for their guests. Last but not least, service was stellar. The man who checked us in was incredibly polite, professional and helpful, and made us feel comfortable with our stay. He was very responsive when we called the front desk and needed something. The woman in the morning was equally accommodating and sweet. Overall, giving S&S a 5 star review because our experience was so wonderful and pleasant. I think for a family holiday, it’s a great place to stay and the location is great to as it’s close to downtown and near the bike path, which we hope to check out in the summer.
Dec 05, 2024 · Nina GPros: —Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They got to know us throughout our stay, and genuinely went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. —Location was centrally located, close to town, shopping, and restaurants, and also close to the mountain for skiing. Trapp Family Lodge, Waterbury (Ben and Jerry’s) is a quick drive as well. —The bowling alley, while a little pricey, was a highlight—we went 2 nights in a row. —We really appreciated the complimentary coffee and we loved the cookies that were available in the afternoon—we seriously considered taking some home with us. —The sitting area was also a big hit. There is a beautiful fireplace, books, and games available in that room as well. —The indoor pool was large and clean, and perfect for unwinding after a long day. Cons: —The rooms are spacious and have everything you need (even a hairdryer and ironing board and hangers in the closets). They’re just a bit dated. The bed was good, though squeaky, and the furniture a bit worn. Honestly, we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room, so it truly wasn’t a big deal. —We were really looking forward to the hot tub, but unfortunately it was a bit dirty and VERY chemically when we did try it out. We only lasted about 5 minutes before we had to get back out. But once again, this was a minor inconvenience. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend! We will probably stay again on future trips to Stowe. Also, we learned that they are planning a renovation in 2025, so we’re looking forward to seeing what changes are made.
