Just a forewarning to business travelers: I travel every week for work and have never been faced with the billing efforts this hotel uses. They charge a $50 incidentals fee rather than just placing a hold on the card, then they charge your card the 1st night if you are staying more than one night and then sometime while you are there they will charge you the rest and then when you check out they will credit the $50 so you end up with 4 entries for every time you stay and multiply that times the rooms you might be booking. It's so confusing because it all comes at different times. The staff doesn't really have an answer on why they make it so complicated. No other Hampton Inn that I stay at operates like this. I won't be doing business with this hotel as I return in future visits; they give me too much work to do, when it should be customer centered.

This complex billing process may be a point of concern for some business travelers. Based on the strong negative reviews regarding management's unresponsiveness and lack of accountability, prospective guests should exercise caution and be persistent if attempting to resolve issues or seek detailed information prior to or during their stay.
For us in Louisiana, particularly those living on the West Bank or with regular ties to the Harvey area, the Hampton Inn & Suites Harvey/New Orleans West Bank initially presents itself as a conveniently located option for a variety of needs. Its proximity to downtown New Orleans and major West Bank attractions makes it a practical choice for hosting visitors, attending local events, or even as a base for business travelers working in the area. The complimentary hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and free parking are attractive amenities that align with the value-focused preferences of many travelers.
The fact that it's a Hampton Inn property, part of the Hilton family, generally suggests a certain level of brand consistency and amenities like a fitness center and an indoor pool, which are beneficial for a comfortable stay. The pet-friendly policy is also a significant draw for many Louisiana families who wish to travel with their furry companions, providing a convenient solution for temporary lodging.
However, it is absolutely crucial for locals to be aware of the serious concerns highlighted in recent customer reviews. The issues regarding complicated billing practices (the incidental fee and staggered charges) can create unnecessary frustration, particularly for frequent business travelers. More critically, the accounts of unresponsive management concerning significant property damage (leaks, broken devices) and damaged personal items, along with "cero accountability," are highly concerning. While the location and advertised amenities are appealing, these detailed negative experiences suggest potential inconsistencies in guest service and property maintenance that could significantly impact your stay.
Therefore, while the Hampton Inn & Suites Harvey/New Orleans West Bank offers a convenient location and standard amenities, prospective local guests should proceed with caution. It would be prudent to manage expectations, perhaps inquire directly about billing procedures for multi-night stays, and consider the potential for encountering the service issues described in the reviews. For those prioritizing a straightforward experience and consistent problem resolution, these points warrant careful consideration.

Jun 13, 2025 · Joe SladeAVOID THIS PLACE stayed at this hotel for little over two weeks, during my stay, it rained two days in a row. I decided to go out in the morning in the first day and the ceiling had a pretty bad leak. I found out about the leak because when I came back the desk (where my computer was) was completely wet as well as everything on it. Thanks to the water two of my devices got damaged and stopped working. I notified the manager who was of no help, and he tried to tell me that maybe if they dried it would help, which did not happen. He recorded the leak in the room and said he was going to take care of the costs of any devices that were damaged. He did not. Then after almost a week he had just placed in a report for the damaged devices. It has been over 2 weeks and nothing has been amended, not a single call, message or email to follow up on the incident. Additionally during my stay, I left for work in the morning to come back at night and find that my electric razor had been probably dropped and broken by someone from the housekeeping staff after reporting it to the management staff, they had me write a statement and told me they would “investigate”, they never followed up with any information or remediation for the damaged property. Im still waiting for an answer from the Hampton Inn team, but there has been cero communication from them, they just stalled until I was gone. One of the worst management I have ever had to deal with. Cero accountability. I do not recommend at all.
Apr 22, 2025 · Miguel NitoThe staff were amazing and the entire hotel was super clean. 100% all the way around! :)
Jun 05, 2025 · Andi ZentgrafI don’t even know where to start. I came out of town to this hotel to meet with my friends. They’re from here & recommended this hotel to me. First, the bed is not what I booked. I booked double beds, this bed is a single bed. Second, I also noticed that the pillows are not standard size pillows. Third, the shower water doesn’t get hot. Lukewarm is an understatement. This is extremely disappointing since this was recommended. I will never stay here again.
Dec 16, 2024 · Lecia EvetteI always hesitate to give a poor review, but my 3 day stay resulted in 3 very cold showers. I reported it to the front desk each day, and I was informed that it's an ongoing problem that management is aware of, but they do nothing to fix it. I kept hoping it would be at least warm water the next morning, but nope... an unexpected and unpleasant cold plunge every morning. The staff was friendly, and the hotel was reasonably clean, otherwise I would have given the facility 1 star. Fix the water heaters.
