Location is great! I stayed here because I was attending a conference and this hotel was a 4 min walk to the convention center. The room was blah! The bed was comfortable but the carpets OMG extremely dirty! I could tell because not only am allergic to dust and dander but because you could clearly see the dirt 🙂‍↕️. The bathroom had some kind of yellow stuff on the wall that looked disgusting 🤮 and for the price you pay per night the least you expect is a clean room and bathroom. They charge a resort fee but you get 2 bottles of water per day and internet access. The receptionist that checked us in was rude but the rest of the front desk staff was really nice. I don’t recommend the breakfast buffet, it’s overpriced and for the pricey you pay is not worth it. The gym is nice and well equipped. They have a water oasis and fresh towels and also a healthy snack for guests. Would I stay here again? Don’t know Probably not. I payed 320$ per night + resort fee (room 1709)

The Hilton Boston Back Bay is marketed as an upscale lodging option, offering a comfortable and sophisticated retreat in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. Its main promotional points revolve around its prime location, comprehensive amenities, and brand reputation. Special offers and packages are frequently available, particularly for Hilton Honors members, who may benefit from discount rates, points toward free nights, digital check-in, and digital key access.
However, customer reviews present a mixed picture, tempering the promotional allure with real-world experiences. While the location consistently receives high praise for its convenience and safety, other aspects of the stay have drawn criticism. A recurring theme in reviews is the cleanliness of the rooms, with some guests reporting "extremely dirty" carpets, visible dirt, and "yellow stuff on the wall" in bathrooms described as "disgusting." This is a significant concern, especially given the price point of the hotel, which can be around $320 per night plus fees.
The "resort fee" is another point of contention. While it covers premium internet access and two bottles of water daily, along with other benefits such as a food and beverage credit and dry cleaning/laundry credit, some guests feel these benefits do not justify the additional nightly charge, especially if they encounter issues like unclean rooms. Service quality also receives varied feedback; while some front desk staff are described as "really nice," one reviewer noted a "rude" receptionist during check-in. The breakfast buffet is frequently mentioned as being "overpriced" and "not worth it" for the cost.
Furthermore, experiences at the hotel's bar have been disappointing for some. One detailed review highlights a lack of basic cocktail ingredients, preventing bartenders from making classic drinks, which is seen as a significant failing for a hotel bar, especially on high-traffic nights. This suggests a potential gap in inventory management or staff training related to beverage service, leading to unmet expectations for guests seeking a "proper drink." Despite a lively atmosphere, the inability to deliver on basic bar offerings left a "sour note."
Overall, while the Hilton Boston Back Bay benefits immensely from its prime location and standard Hilton amenities like a well-equipped gym, prospective guests utilizing the 'Hotels Near Of Me' platform should be aware of the reported inconsistencies in room cleanliness and service quality, particularly concerning the bar and the perceived value of the resort fee and breakfast buffet. It appears to be a hotel where location is its undisputed strength, but the execution of certain core services can be hit or miss, leading to a varied guest experience.

Mar 23, 2025 · Monica MongeDespite the buzz and bustle of a big game night in Boston, we were incredibly let down by the service at the Hilton’s bar. We asked Desmond and Dayton for two classic cocktails—a Vesper and an Aviation—and were told they couldn’t make either due to a lack of ingredients. These aren’t obscure tiki drinks or off-menu whims—they’re staples that any well-stocked bar should be able to produce, especially on a high-traffic evening when the expectation is elevated service. The vibe was lively, the crowd was energetic, and we were ready to enjoy it all—but the bar’s inability to meet even basic cocktail standards left a sour note on an otherwise promising night. If you’re planning to enjoy a proper drink here, lower your expectations—or better yet, head somewhere else with actual bartenders behind the bar.
May 22, 2025 · Morgan Laurè GarrettThe room and view were absolutely amazing! The staff were nice, and the whole hotel was gorgeous. Definitely would stay here again! (Photos were taken after we slept in the bed; the room was clean). Note: we stayed in 2023 and are just now leaving a review.
Mar 30, 2025 · Emma F. PayneDo not let the nice photos fool you. Falsely advertised stating it has a pool on Google and all apps- called the front desk and they said it's no longer an amenity. Fitness facility was small and not welcoming. The front desk checked me in quickly, but they didn't explain why there was $150 fee up front that they charged my card for. They didn't point out where breakfast is served, did not state where fitness facilities were and did not tell me anything about the hotel. The room, elevators and hallways need some much needed updates since they all lack proper signage. The room view for a 3 night stay was overlooking the roof with HVAC and garage- it did not provide any of the views the Expedia app said it would. No apps available on the TV to login to- just basic cable with no special channels. The TVs are old enough that I couldn't share my laptop screen to view Netflix or Hulu. Go stay at the Sheraton across the street for a cheaper price, better amenities and service. Never again will our company book at this location.
Mar 19, 2025 · Elizabeth PalmerThe staff was friendly and the location is great, very walkable. We did not get housekeeping services even though we were out of our room the entire day. One of our towels was dirty, stained with makeup. The “resort fee” includes two bottles of water which we only got at arrival, not the other two days. There are no water bottle refill stations so the only choice was to buy water for $7 or go without. The room was very disappointing. There was a lot of damage and staining, and the bed was sunken in the middle.
