I only used the parking 🅿️ garage. The lights are automatic. There is an EV charging station. The entrance and exit are not enclosed. Large pickup 🛻 trucks and SUVS may find the parking spaces small. I had an issue with using my Spot Hero QR code at the entrance and exit kiosk. There were no employees to ask for help.

The Midtown Hotel Introduce

For local users and visitors exploring options within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Boston, The Midtown Hotel presents a practical and well-located choice. Situated at 220 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115, USA, this hotel offers a blend of comfort, essential amenities, and a highly desirable location in the heart of Back Bay. You can contact them at (617) 264-2910 or by mobile phone at +1 617-264-2910 for inquiries and reservations.

Environment: Prime Location in Boston's Cultural Hub

The Midtown Hotel enjoys a prime location in Boston's historic Back Bay, a neighborhood known for its beautiful brownstones, upscale shopping, and rich cultural institutions. The hotel is strategically positioned on Huntington Avenue, placing guests within easy walking distance of many of Boston's most iconic attractions. Symphony Hall, home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is just a short stroll away (a review specifically mentions parking here for a show at Symphony Hall), making it ideal for concert-goers. Other nearby cultural landmarks include the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Christian Science Plaza. Northeastern University is also just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, making it a convenient option for prospective students, visiting families, or university affiliates.

The immediate area surrounding the hotel is highly walkable, allowing guests to easily explore on foot. Copley Square, with its stunning architecture and prominent landmarks like Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library, is also within comfortable walking distance. Public transportation is highly accessible, with both the Symphony and Massachusetts Avenue T (subway) stations of the Green Line within very short walking distance, providing effortless connections to downtown Boston, Fenway Park, and other city neighborhoods. While the hotel itself is described as having a "retro-style" and has been "completely renovated," some reviews imply that parts of the property might feel dated in comparison to newer establishments. However, the general atmosphere is often noted as clean and comfortable, and the hotel's on-site garden provides a pleasant outdoor space.

Services: Essential Comforts and Practical Amenities

The Midtown Hotel focuses on providing guests with fundamental services and amenities for a comfortable and convenient stay. The hotel operates with a 24-hour front desk, ensuring staff are available around the clock to assist guests with check-in, check-out, and any inquiries. The 159 guest rooms are designed to offer comfort and include essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, coffee/tea makers, and private bathrooms with showers, hairdryers, and eco-friendly toiletries. Rooms may also feature a seating area, work desk, and iron/ironing board. Complimentary bottled water might be available, though confirmation is recommended. Connecting rooms and free cribs/infant beds are available upon request, making it suitable for families. Daily housekeeping is provided.

For guest convenience, the hotel offers an outdoor heated swimming pool (seasonal), which is a significant amenity, particularly during warmer months. There's also a sauna for relaxation. While the hotel has a restaurant, information regarding its specific offerings (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner) can be varied. Some sources indicate the presence of a restaurant, while others mention a shared microwave in a common area. Room service is also available. A hairdresser/beauty salon is on-site for those seeking pampering. Additionally, laundry facilities and a gift/souvenir shop are available for guests' convenience. Multilingual staff are on hand to assist a diverse clientele. The hotel also provides an airport shuttle service, which can be a valuable perk for travelers.

Features: Value-Added Extras and Guest-Friendly Policies

The Midtown Hotel distinguishes itself with several features that enhance its appeal, particularly within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, where value and practicality are often key considerations:

  • Free On-site Self-Parking: A significant advantage in Boston, where parking can be costly and difficult to find, The Midtown Hotel offers free self-parking in its on-site garage. This is a highly valued amenity for guests arriving by car. Reviews confirm its ease of use, though note that large pickup trucks and SUVs may find the spaces small. The garage also features an EV charging station, catering to electric vehicle owners. While most reviews highlight the ease of parking, some mention issues with using QR codes from third-party apps like SpotHero at the entrance/exit kiosks without immediate staff assistance, suggesting occasional reliance on automated systems without immediate human backup.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy: The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing pets upon request, though charges may apply. This is a great feature for travelers who wish to bring their furry companions along. Service animals are exempt from fees.

  • Outdoor Pool: The seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool offers a refreshing leisure option for guests, a less common amenity for hotels in a city center.

  • Business Amenities: For business travelers, the hotel provides a business center with fax and photocopying services, as well as meeting/banquet facilities.

  • Accessibility: The hotel offers rooms and facilities for disabled guests, including bathrooms designed for accessibility, and a lift.

  • Green Initiatives: The Midtown Hotel demonstrates some commitment to environmental sustainability, with features such as recycling, LED light bulbs, eco-friendly cleaning products, water-efficient showers, and a comprehensive food waste policy, as well as the use of reusable cups and tableware. They also engage in local culture and ecosystem education.

The hotel maintains a smoke-free property policy, and children under 17 can stay free of charge when using existing beds, making it a budget-friendly option for families.

Promotional Information: Smart Savings for Your Boston Trip

The Midtown Hotel frequently offers various promotions and packages to provide added value for guests. These offers are dynamic and can be best confirmed by checking their official website or contacting them directly. Common types of promotions include:

  • Museum Packages: The hotel often partners with local cultural institutions to offer packages that include accommodations and admission for two to prominent museums like The Museum of Fine Arts, The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and The Institute of Contemporary Art. Some packages might also include free parking.

  • History and Sightseeing Packages: Promotions like "The Freedom Trail Walk into History Tour" package combine accommodations with a guided tour of Boston's historic Freedom Trail and a commemorative book.

  • Science Museum and Aquarium Packages: Offers might include one-night stays with free parking and general admission for two adults and one child to The Museum of Science and The New England Aquarium, catering to families.

  • Advance Purchase Rates: Booking in advance can often lead to discounted rates, though these typically come with stricter cancellation policies.

  • Seasonal Specials: The hotel may run specific discounts or offers during different seasons to attract travelers, encouraging guests to enjoy Boston's various seasonal happenings at competitive rates.

Parked here for a show at symphony hall. Great rate, easy to park, and a short walk to the hall. Easy in and out with spothero.

The lobby is very welcoming, the nice paint, the bright colors. The entrance was a bit hard to get to, but nonetheless was found after a minute of walking. The hotel is very well managed, and the staff was very nice. My 3 stars is based on the idea that it's not a very nice place. It's located in a well spot, but the rooms and hallways themselves felt so gloomy and weren't lit properly. I did enjoy my stay, but it could have been better.

The beds were very comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful, shower was hot. But the rooms had almost no heat. The room didn't have it's own thermostat, and offering additional blankets was really all they could do. We took a lot of showers to warm up.
