This hotel is cute . I have a small but very cute room. However if you stay here , do not stay in the first floor. I’m writing this review because I can’t sleep due to the noise. My room is on the 1st floor and it’s connected to some sort of bar or night club that feels as though the bar full of people screaming and yelling is inside my actual room. It’s 2:40am and there is yelling, screaming, and what sounds like glass breaking right outside my hotel room window because it’s on the ground floor. I would say the noise level is at a 10 at this point. It’s like having a nightclub inside your actual room that’s how bad the noise is. I paid $280 for this room. For one night of non existent sleep. Not a good experience at all. The hotel itself is nice but I wouldn’t stay again especially for this price.
The Copley Square Hotel, operating as a FOUND Hotel, is a long-standing establishment located at 47 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02116, USA. Positioned in the highly sought-after Back Bay neighborhood, this historic hotel falls under the 'Hotels Near Of Me' category, offering a compelling location for travelers eager to explore Boston's most famous landmarks and vibrant urban life. While it presents itself with a charming, traditional facade, recent guest experiences indicate a mix of positive aspects, primarily related to its location, and areas where potential guests should manage their expectations.
Environment: A Historic Building in the Heart of Back Bay
The Copley Square Hotel occupies a historic building, a testament to Boston's rich architectural heritage. Its exterior maintains a classic charm that blends seamlessly with the surrounding brownstones and grand structures of the Back Bay. The hotel's immediate vicinity is exceptionally dynamic and convenient. It is directly opposite Copley Square, home to iconic landmarks like the Boston Public Library, Trinity Church, and the Hancock Tower. The hotel is also steps away from the upscale shopping and dining experiences at Copley Place and the Prudential Center, which provides indoor access to a wide array of retail and culinary options. The famed Newbury Street, with its charming boutiques, art galleries, and cafes, is just a block away, inviting leisurely strolls and retail therapy. Furthermore, the Hynes Convention Center is within easy walking distance, making the hotel a practical choice for conference attendees. Other nearby attractions include the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common, offering serene green spaces for relaxation. Public transportation is highly accessible, with the Copley MBTA subway station (Green Line) and Back Bay station (Orange Line, Commuter Rail) just minutes away, providing convenient access to other parts of Boston, including Fenway Park, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the historic Freedom Trail. This central and vibrant location is consistently highlighted as the hotel's strongest advantage, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the city's offerings without extensive travel.
Services: Basic Offerings with Noted Inconsistencies
The Copley Square Hotel, as a FOUND Hotel, generally offers essential hotel services. It provides a 24-hour front desk, catering to varying arrival times and guest inquiries. While basic amenities are available, recent guest reviews point to inconsistencies in service quality and offerings. Some guests have reported issues such as a general lack of enthusiasm from staff during interactions. The hotel does not appear to offer extensive high-end services often found in more luxurious properties.
For dining, the hotel's website indicates it has a bar/lounge on-site, specifically "Minibar." However, some guest experiences suggest that the ambiance or operations of connected venues can be a source of significant noise disturbance, especially for rooms on lower floors. The hotel also offers a "hospitality room" which, according to one review, appeared to be a simple vending machine within a break room, suggesting a minimal approach to common area amenities. Complimentary Wi-Fi is generally available, which is a standard expectation for most hotels today. Housekeeping services are provided, though a review mentioned finding uncleaned items from a previous guest, suggesting occasional lapses in thoroughness. Valet parking is available, but typically incurs an additional charge.
Guests should be aware that the hotel's focus appears to be on providing fundamental services rather than a full suite of luxury offerings. There are no mentions of a fitness center, spa, or extensive business facilities. The service model seems geared towards independent travelers who prioritize location and simplicity.
Features: Compact Rooms and Vintage Elements with Modern Challenges
The Copley Square Hotel, a FOUND Hotel, provides guest rooms that are often described as "small but very cute," aligning with a boutique or budget-conscious urban hotel aesthetic. The hotel maintains some of its historic charm, which can be appealing to guests looking for a traditional Boston experience. However, the condition and amenities within the rooms have garnered mixed feedback.
Some reviews indicate that rooms may appear "dated," suggesting they haven't been significantly updated in recent years. Furnishings and decor might reflect an older style. Bathrooms, too, have been described as stark, with basic setups like a "tub/shower curtain deal similar to a college apartment," and instances of fixtures needing maintenance, such as a "toilet paper holder falling off the wall." The quality of amenities like towels, with one guest noting "ripped on the seams," also suggests areas for improvement. In-room entertainment may be limited, with reports of "minimal cable channels on an old small TV" and difficulty accessing popular sports broadcasts.
A major concern highlighted by multiple guests is noise, particularly for rooms on the first floor. Direct connections to bars or nightclubs have resulted in "unbearable noise levels," likened to "having a nightclub inside your actual room" with "screaming, yelling, and what sounds like glass breaking" late into the night. This issue can severely impact sleep quality, making certain rooms highly undesirable, especially for those sensitive to noise. The hotel's elevator system has also been noted, with only "one small elevator for the whole building" and a concern that it is "not room key protected," raising potential security questions.
On the positive side, some guests have found the rooms to be clean and to provide all basic necessities, and the overall aesthetic can be perceived as charming despite the potential for outdated elements. The presence of air conditioning is a standard feature for comfort.
Promotional Information: Location-Driven Value with Transparency Advised
The Copley Square Hotel, as a FOUND Hotel, typically focuses its appeal on its unbeatable location in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. While specific promotional offers were not extensively detailed in the provided information, hotels in this category often provide value through competitive pricing for their prime location, particularly during off-peak seasons or for direct bookings. Guests searching under 'Hotels Near Of Me' and prioritizing proximity to major attractions over extensive luxury amenities might find this hotel appealing for its price point relative to its location.
Potential guests are strongly advised to contact the hotel directly at (617) 536-9000 or +1 617-536-9000 to inquire about current rates, room availability, and crucially, to request a room on a higher floor away from any potential noise sources, especially if they are sensitive sleepers. Reading recent reviews and perhaps contacting the hotel about specific room conditions would also be beneficial to manage expectations. The hotel's value proposition largely rests on its ability to place guests in the center of Boston's vibrant activity, but prospective visitors should be fully aware of the potential drawbacks related to noise and room condition to ensure a satisfactory stay for the price paid.

May 17, 2025 · The Couture CollectivesTerrible experience. Rooms look like they haven't been updated in 20 years. Although they claimed non-smoking rooms, ours reeked of a recent smoker and it seemed their solution was to leave the AC blasting on a 50 degree night. Shower was a tub/shower curtain deal similar to a college apartment. Only one small elevator for the whole building which anyone from the street can access, not room key protected. They do offer a "hospitality" room that is a vending machine within a break room that looked like the one in "The Office". Minimal cable channels on an old small TV, neither the NBA nor NHL playoffs were accessible. The bathroom was stark with only a single sink with virtually no surround and a toilet paper holder falling off the wall. This towels ripped on the seams. Oh and a false fire alarm sounded at 2:30 AM. Other than that it's great. OMG.
May 20, 2025 · Art RIf you are staying here, request a room that is not on the first or second floor. The hotel shares walls with a night club and the music is insanely loud until 2AM. We were in the first floor, one room away from said shared wall and it was not a fun night. Otherwise, service was fine and it's in a good location
May 12, 2025 · Emily HollandThis is a nice hotel in an extremely convenient location! We had a room with two double beds which we liked, and the cleaning staff were very lovely. The elevator is extremely slow and often didn’t work properly - we would generally have to press the call button about 5-10 times for it to work. It also skipped my floor, despite me pressing the button and the button being lit up, so I had to walk back down to my floor. This is fine for me, but being with people who struggle with mobility, it was a real problem. The door to the hotel also gets locked when it starts getting late (around 1am), and you can’t get in or out without an employee. I once got back to the hotel later, and had to wait outside with another guest for about 5 minutes for an employee to come back to let us in, while another guest was waiting in the foyer to be let out of the hotel. This feels like a real safety issue, especially not being able to get out of the hotel in case of emergency. Also, there are signs around the hotel stating that there is a guest laundry room, however when we asked at the front desk about it, we were informed that it doesn’t actually exist and there is no guest laundry room - just the paid laundry service. Other than these minor issues, we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed our room.
May 12, 2025 · Jayla McLennanVery, very cute hotel and in a very convenient location; however, I could not fall asleep due to the jerk next door playing guitar past 10 (even after calling the front desk), and was then SURPRISE! Woken up by the same guitar nonsense before 8 am on a Sunday. Called the front desk and they said they could "let their manager know." Ridiculous. I understand a hotel can't be responsible for what their guests will do, but when told what they are doing by other guests, it should be addressed.
