Stayed one night and never stopped being impressed! Let me say EVERYTHING WAS AWESOME! Exceptional service whether in person, or over the phone. Super kind and thoughtful employees. Brought us our luggage, extra towels, and linens for the pull out bed. We stayed on the second floor with a window on the street overlooking the Boston marathon finish line. Really nice to sit by the window in the evening watching the city. The room was not noisy even being near the elevator and street. Super clean, even the corners. The room was small but expected for a historical property. Bigger folks might be uncomfortable with that. Great use of space, everything you need is provided. There is a fruit bowl on the front desk if you need a snack throughout the day or night and free coffee with a pastry in the morning. Nice restaurant downstairs too. The location is perfect! Across the street from the historical library, next to an old church and T green line. Your three blocks to Commonwealth Ave. which leads directly to the Boston Common. It’s magically lit at night and beautiful during the day. There’s a 7-11, restaurants, and major shopping a blocks away. The area felt very safe. The 40 minute walk to the science museum was very nice. My greatest compliment goes to the wonderful staff that treated us with respect even though I use a very large service dog. We felt very appreciated and welcomed. I would highly recommend staying here!

Housed in a beautifully renovated historic building from 1886, it offers a sophisticated blend of European ambiance and modern design, appealing to both leisure and business travelers seeking an exceptional Boston experience.
The environment of The Charlesmark Boutique Hotel is designed to impress, even within its "small but expected for a historical property" footprint. The hotel embraces a "classic modernism" design ethos, with stylish interiors featuring custom-made furniture, light-toned woodwork, imported Italian tile, and elegant European lighting fixtures. This creates a soft modern motif with a residential feel in each of its 40 guest rooms. The atmosphere is consistently described as "super clean" and "serene," even for rooms facing the bustling Boylston Street, showcasing excellent soundproofing. The lobby area is inviting, often featuring a fruit bowl for guests throughout the day or night, contributing to a welcoming and thoughtful environment. The presence of an on-site restaurant and a hip martini bar, often with an outdoor patio overlooking Copley Square, adds to the lively yet refined atmosphere, perfect for people-watching and soaking in the city's energy. The hotel's prime position across from the historic Boston Public Library and next to an old church further enhances its picturesque and historically rich surroundings.
When it comes to services, The Charlesmark Boutique Hotel excels in providing an exceptional and personalized guest experience. Guests consistently rave about the "exceptional service," whether in person or over the phone, highlighting "super kind and thoughtful employees" like Joey and Brittney at the front desk. The staff are noted for being "always ready to help with a smile" and treating guests with respect, even those with large service animals, making everyone feel "appreciated and welcomed." The hotel offers a complimentary "on-the-go breakfast" served daily from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, which typically includes gourmet coffee, tea, and a freshly baked pastry or bagel. While one review mentioned a "slippery" breakfast experience with staff allegedly trying to hide pastries, the general sentiment indicates appreciation for this complimentary offering. Guests also receive a 20% discount at the on-site Landwer Cafe, which is open throughout the day for additional meals and beverages. The front desk operates 24 hours, providing express check-in and check-out, luggage storage, and concierge services to assist with local information and bookings. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available both in public areas and in all guest rooms. Complimentary newspapers are offered in the lobby. For business travelers, a fully equipped business center with computers and printers is available. While there isn't an in-house workout room, guests can enjoy discounted access to a nearby fitness center. The hotel also provides dry cleaning/laundry services and self-serve laundry facilities. The features of The Charlesmark Boutique Hotel are designed for comfort and convenience within its elegant setting. Each of the 40 guest rooms, though potentially small (ranging from 140 to 325 square feet depending on the room type, including "Queen Cabin (No Windows)" which are noted as being larger and quieter), are efficiently designed with premium bedding, laptop-compatible safes, and complimentary bottled water. Rooms feature 49-inch LCD TVs with premium digital channels, DVD players, CD players, and MP3 docking stations for entertainment. Private bathrooms come with designer toiletries, hair dryers, and showers. Climate control, including air conditioning and heating, ensures comfort year-round. Other in-room amenities include phones with free local calls and irons/ironing boards (on request). Some rooms, particularly the "Queen Cabin (No Windows)," are noted for their spaciousness despite lacking exterior views. The hotel's on-site dining options, Landwer Cafe and the Charlesmark Lounge, provide convenience for meals and drinks without needing to leave the property. Although parking in the area can be challenging, the hotel offers discounted rates at nearby off-site parking garages, such as the 100 Clarendon Street Garage and the Prudential Center Garage, typically costing around $30-$35 per day with validation. This helps mitigate the cost of parking in a dense city environment. The hotel's focus on essential amenities and a premium experience, rather than an overwhelming array of facilities, aligns with its boutique nature.
From a promotional standpoint, The Charlesmark Boutique Hotel emphasizes its premier location and exceptional service as its core value proposition within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Boston. It positions itself as a sophisticated retreat in the heart of Back Bay, ideal for those who appreciate being steps away from major landmarks. The hotel highlights its proximity to the Boston Marathon finish line, the historic Boston Public Library, Copley Square, Newbury Street's high-end boutiques and dining, and the Copley MBTA Green Line station (less than 50 yards away). This easy access to public transport means guests can effortlessly explore Boston Common (a short walk, magically lit at night), the Charles River Esplanade, the Museum of Fine Arts, Fenway Park, and downtown's Freedom Trail. The hotel also promotes its "exceptional value" compared to other hotels in the area, often offering rates 10-20% lower while providing more style and services. The unique partnership allowing guests free access to The Tennis and Racquet Club at 939 Boylston Street, offering fitness facilities, racquet courts, and a bar, is another appealing promotional point. The commitment to a smoke-free environment and personalized service for every guest, including those with service animals, is also part of its appeal. The overall message is one of a memorable lodging experience that blends European ambiance with modern convenience in a prime Boston location.
In conclusion, The Charlesmark Boutique Hotel offers a highly regarded option for travelers seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Boston's prestigious Back Bay. Its commitment to outstanding customer service, evident in the staff's kindness and attentiveness, coupled with its elegantly designed rooms, complimentary amenities like breakfast and Wi-Fi, and an unbeatable central location, make it a compelling choice. While room sizes are typical for a historic city property, the efficient use of space and attention to detail ensure a comfortable stay. Despite the challenge of parking in downtown Boston, the discounted off-site options provide a workable solution. The Charlesmark is highly recommended for those desiring a sophisticated, well-located, and service-driven experience in the heart of Boston.

Feb 04, 2025 · Nancy OaklandJoey and Brittney are great fellas and friendly front desk staffers always ready to help with a smile. Room is small, tiny, but clean and all of the other is good. Restaurant is great food, and the discount helps a lot, but not so sure about how courteous the staff at the restaurant is. The breakfast is a bit slippery. Staffers at the breakfast restaurant try to hide the croissants and pastries, when they ran out, to have you pay for them. Parking around the area is almost impossible. You are in to pay for Parking Garage. With a discount that also helps.
Dec 02, 2024 · Guido NeiraThis place is amazing! Rooms are clean and well maintained. Rooms are a bit on the smaller side and hallways are narrow but you absolutely cannot beat the location. It is right next to the Boston Public Library. The cafe below is great too - the nutella hot chocolate is a must try!
Jan 02, 2025 · Ayesha Maliwal BundyThe location is unbeatable. Staff is helpful and friendly. However, the hotel advertises all standard rooms have a reading chair and fridge. Mine had neither. If advertised as such, these should be available in all rooms. They have some charm but are tiny and have no view, which the hotel is certainly very upfront about.
Jan 19, 2025 · Joel KrikorianThe Charlesmark Hotel in Boston is a great place to stay. The location is excellent. The rooms are compact and sweet — comfortable, clean, peaceful, and relaxing. Thoughtful touches like a coat hook in the room make it feel like home. Coffee and pastries are offered at 7:30 am daily. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Charlesmark Hotel team!
