We stayed at this hotel for a trip to see the Red Sox, and it was an excellent choice! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were incredibly helpful and friendly—you can tell they genuinely enjoy their work, which makes such a difference in the overall experience. The hotel itself was spotless, and our room was no exception. The bedroom was super clean and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day at the game. The only thing I wish they had was a microwave in the room. I understand it might be a safety concern or a hassle to maintain, but it would have been a nice touch for added convenience. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, welcoming place to stay!

In-room amenities typically include a mini-fridge, coffee maker/tea service, an in-room safe, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and an iPod dock. Complimentary bottled water is often provided. While a microwave in the room is not standard (as noted by a guest), this is common for many upscale hotels due to safety and maintenance considerations. • Pet-Friendly: The Westin Copley Place is a pet-friendly hotel, allowing guests to bring their furry companions (pet fees may apply).
  • Valet Parking: Available for guests, though as noted by one guest, the daily fee of approximately $70 can be "outrageous." Self-parking options in nearby garages may be more economical.
  • Destination Fee: The hotel charges a daily "destination fee" (approximately $35-40 per night). While some guests might find this an "outrageous" added charge, it often includes valuable amenities such as a daily food & beverage credit (e.g., $30), enhanced high-speed internet, and tickets for local attractions like the historic Trinity Church or Blue Bike Adventure Pass tickets. It is important for guests to be aware of this fee in advance, though the hotel strives for transparency by noting it on their website.
  • Westin Kids Club: Provides amenities and services tailored for younger guests, including coloring books, bath toys, and a bedtime story service, making it family-friendly.

Features and Unique Aspects

The Westin Copley Place's most distinguishing feature is its direct indoor connection to the Copley Place Mall and Prudential Center. This "catwalk" access is a major convenience, offering a weather-protected pathway to extensive shopping, dining, and entertainment options without ever stepping outside. This integrated experience makes it a unique and highly practical choice for many travelers.

Another strong feature is the consistent quality of its rooms, described as "spotless" and "super clean and comfortable." The larger-than-average room size for a downtown Boston hotel is also a significant advantage, providing more space for relaxation. The Westin Heavenly Bed is a brand signature that consistently receives high praise for its comfort.

The hotel's location in the vibrant and safe Back Bay neighborhood is ideal, offering a blend of historic charm and modern urban amenities. Its ease of access to major highways (I90) and public transportation makes it exceptionally convenient for both arriving and exploring Boston.

Promotional Information and Guest Insights

Many guests, like the one celebrating a Red Sox trip, express a strong intent to "definitely be coming back the next time I’m in the area," indicating high satisfaction and loyalty. While the "outrageous" parking and destination fees are mentioned, guests often acknowledge them in advance and find the overall value and convenience still make the stay worthwhile. The Westin is in a perfect location for an easy-on and off I90 trip to Boston. The rooms were clean and larger than other Boston and NYC hotels. Climate control in the rooms was great. Some of the charges are outrageous, but I knew about them in advance - the $35 "destination fee," 20 of which is refunded if you spend it in the hotel. The $70 valet parking fee is also outrageous. All the staff members were courteous and professional, although I didn't encounter anyone who was effusive - they are all very busy all the time. The location is also spectacular - aside from instant on and off of I90, easy (but expensive) parking, you are close to everything in Back Bay and a two-minute walk from a T station. A cat walk gives you access to the network of Prudential Center connected shopping - and Newbury street is also a quick walk. I hadn't spent extended time in Back Bay since 1978. The neighborhood is very safe even if it lacks the sleazy character it had in the late 70s. I will stay here again, for sure, and the pay-ahead, uncancellable reservation was ultimately a good deal, considering how expensive Boston has become. I knew in advance exactly how much it was going to cost.

I stayed in March for 4 days. The hotel itself, the room, the location was perfect. My room was better than a recent stay at the Four Seasons. However, on my departure day I had a room service charge that was not mine. I immediately called the front desk that morning and was told I would receive an email once they researched it. The lady was not kind and more matter of fact. When I checked out at noon, I stopped by the front desk and was met by another not so pleasant front desk person and expressed my concerns about the charge. She told me if I already spoke to someone that was all I cold do. I needed a receipt without the charge for reimbursement. I never received an email, a phone call, nothing. I was going to dispute the charge in my AMEX and noticed it was gone. I would have appreciated some sort of contact from the hotel as well as a follow up invoice. None was received.

I think this hotel is supposed to be relatively upscale or at least upper midrange? But the elevators are slow (despite having 6 of them, I sometimes had to wait quite a while and the floors are too high to just take the stairs). The parking is atrocious, though that's mostly a result of the nice central location. We wanted to park nearby ($20 elsewhere vs $70+ at the hotel), but were told when trying to drop off that we had a strict limit of 10 minutes to check in and drop off our stuff or else they would force valet park us. And then they stack the deck against us by having those snail-paced elevators. To be clear, I understand their difficulty and am not offended they asked. I'm offended by the way they asked and the fact the hotel does nothing to help (trolleys are for valets only, elevators are slow, rooms are far away) Also, it feels like the number of staff is insufficient for a hotel of this size, especially if they want to service it for the price range they're expecting. We called down twice for toiletries and ended up having to physically go down to the front desk before getting them. They didn't bring anything up 30 minutes after the first call, and then only brought up partial toiletries after the second call. After wasting an hour waiting for them to clean up their act, my husband decided to just go down and make sure they got all the items we asked for correctly. Like another guest mentioned, there's 1 bottle of water in our room, which isn't really sufficient for 2 guests. I'm sure the hotel will say this is to be environmentally friendly and that they provide more upon request to those brave or desperate enough to ask. The trick is to go down to the gym, which is well stocked with water and actually quite nice overall. If you're staying on the weekends, note that there will likely be an event, which means loud guests. With the poorly insulated connecting doors, it'll be a nice, noisy night. There was partying next door until close to midnight, but don't worry, they might or might not be able to bring up a single set of earplugs. There's some nice views from some rooms and the gym. But the blinds are awful and I almost got blinded by the sunlight it let through as I was trying to get my kids to sleep. The lounge is closed on weekends, so they had to give us breakfast vouchers, which are fine. I guess at least they have a lounge still after covid, unlike many other Marriott hotels? Great location, but there's other nice hotels in this area. No need to try this one again.

First stay at this location, it was fabulous! Warm, friendly staff from valet outside to front desk and housekeeping staff. This team serves up the quality service we expect from The Westin. Beds are heavenly, room clean and spacious. Upgraded to an executive suite and loved the extra space. The M Club for Marriott Elite members is superb!! It’s rare to find these at a Westin. This Club is roomy and spacious with lovely City views and the food is delicious. Breakfast spread and evening appetizers offer a lot of variety and the Club staff are delightful and attentive. Big kudos to Chen, Tia, Irene and Elfinesh, thank you for making our stay such a pleasant one. We are looking forward to coming back and staying with you again soon!
