Great experience overall. This was our second stay at the Lenox and the service was fantastic both times. The lobby and restaurants are chic and modern but with an homage to its history. Last time, our room was spacious and comfortable. However, this visit yielded a really tight room with a window that provided very little natural light. It was clean and tidy, of course, but even with just the two of us, felt very cramped. The bathroom was impossible to share so we took shifts. Not a dealbreaker, of course. However, the reason for the 3 star room rating was because the AC was severely lacking. The thermostat didn't really seem to have an impact on the temperature and the fan, if set to auto, rarely ran so it got stuffy quickly. I would be nervous to stay in that room in the middle of summer. Bottom line, we would stay again but will request a nicer room from the jump. But for our quick work visit, it worked out just fine.

The Lenox Hotel Introduce

For those seeking an upscale and historically rich experience within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Boston, The Lenox Hotel stands as a distinguished landmark. Located at 61 Exeter St, Boston, MA 02116, USA, in the heart of the prestigious Back Bay neighborhood, this hotel is more than just an accommodation; it's a piece of Boston's storied past, offering a blend of old-world charm and modern luxury. Opened in 1900, it was once Boston's tallest building and has continually evolved while preserving its Beaux-Arts grandeur.

The environment of The Lenox Hotel is one of sophisticated elegance, blending "chic and modern" aesthetics with "an homage to its history." The lobby and public areas are meticulously designed, showcasing custom-made furniture, imported Italian tile, and European lighting, creating an inviting and refined atmosphere. Despite its central, bustling location, the hotel is praised for its ability to provide a serene and quiet environment, even for rooms facing the street or near elevators, a testament to its solid construction and soundproofing. The hotel is housed in a beautiful Beaux-Arts building, featuring white and red terra cotta bricks on the exterior and luxuriously appointed interiors. Notably, The Lenox has been a pioneer in sustainability within the hospitality industry, implementing numerous eco-savvy practices such as a hypoallergenic floor (the 11th floor), hybrid vehicles for guest transportation, filtered water stations on every floor to reduce plastic bottle waste, and recycling initiatives throughout the property. This commitment to environmental responsibility enhances the overall guest experience, demonstrating that luxury and sustainability can coexist harmoniously.

In terms of services, The Lenox Hotel is consistently lauded for its "fantastic" and "flawless hospitality" from a "wonderful friendly staff" that goes "above and beyond." Guests frequently praise the "super easy and pleasant" check-in process and the convenience of valet parking (available for a daily fee of approximately $70, with in/out privileges). The hotel offers 24-hour room service, ensuring guests can dine at their convenience. A 24-hour fitness center is available, equipped with free weights, Nautilus, and cardio equipment, including Peloton stationary bikes. Complimentary amenities include high-speed Wi-Fi for unlimited devices, complimentary bottled water in rooms, and newspapers. Personalized concierge service is provided to assist guests with reservations, directions, and local recommendations. Laundry and dry cleaning services are available, with same-day options. The hotel also offers a unique "fireplace lighting service" for rooms equipped with wood-burning fireplaces, adding a touch of old-world charm. For business travelers, a 24-hour business center with computers and printers, as well as extensive meeting and event facilities, are available, spanning over 5,000 square feet (279 square meters) of versatile function space. The Lenox is also notably pet-friendly, allowing dogs up to 50 lbs for a one-time fee of $75 per stay (maximum two dogs per room), and offers amenities like dog beds, bowls, and locally made treats. Service animals are exempt from fees. The hotel's multilingual staff further enhances its welcoming environment for international guests. It is important to note that while children 18 years old and younger stay free when using existing bedding, guests must be 21 or over to check-in and stay alone.

The features of The Lenox Hotel are designed to cater to a discerning clientele, offering a range of luxurious and comfortable accommodations. The 214 guest rooms and suites are individually decorated and furnished, offering varying layouts and sizes. While some rooms might feel "tight" or have "very little natural light" as noted by a recent guest, others are described as "spacious and comfortable," "lovely, clean and cozy." Key features in many rooms include working wood-burning fireplaces (operational seasonally, with bellman assistance for lighting), iPod docking stations, safes, and mini-fridges. All rooms come with LCD televisions featuring premium digital channels and pay movies, as well as amenities like bathrobes, designer toiletries, and complimentary toiletries in marble bathrooms that often include shower/tub combinations and hair dryers. High ceilings in some rooms add to the sense of grandeur. Specialty rooms like the Executive Fireplace Rooms offer corner views of the historic Back Bay, and suites, such as the apartment-style suite where Judy Garland once lived, boast stunning views, oversized relaxation areas, and vintage crystal chandeliers. The hotel has three on-site dining options: City Table (now Willow & Ivy), a neighborhood eatery for breakfast and dinner; Sólás Irish Pub, offering authentic Irish cuisine in a lively setting; and The Irving, an intimate lobby cocktail bar, with 24-hour in-room dining also available. The hotel also offers a health club at a partner property and bike rentals. Filtered water stations on every floor, energy-efficient TVs, and low-flow fixtures are part of the hotel's green initiatives. It is worth noting the feedback regarding the air conditioning in one room, suggesting that while generally effective, guests might consider requesting a room with optimal climate control for warmer months.

From a promotional standpoint, The Lenox Hotel highlights its status as a Boston landmark and its prime location as its strongest assets within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. It proudly boasts its central position in Back Bay, "just steps away" from iconic attractions like Copley Square, the Boston Public Library, Newbury Street's fashionable shopping and dining scene, and the Prudential Center. Its proximity to the Boston Marathon finish line is a unique draw. The hotel also emphasizes its easy access to public transportation, with the Copley MBTA Green Line station just a short walk away, connecting guests to Boston Common, the Charles River Esplanade, Fenway Park, and other city highlights. Promotional packages are frequently offered, such as "Last Minute Lenox" for savings on spontaneous getaways, "Love in Lenox" for romantic escapes including sparkling wine and dining credits, and "Park & Stay" for those driving in. Special themed packages like "Paw-some Escape" for dog owners and "View Boston Package" including tickets to the city's observation deck are also available. The hotel's commitment to sustainability and its family ownership by the Saunders Hotel Group, a long-standing name in Boston hospitality, are also often highlighted, underscoring a blend of luxury, history, and responsible practices. The overall message is that of a sophisticated, welcoming, and conveniently located luxury hotel that offers an authentic Boston experience.

In conclusion, The Lenox Hotel presents an outstanding option for travelers seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Boston who value luxury, personalized service, and an unbeatable central location. While room sizes and natural light can vary based on the specific room type, and minor issues like AC performance in certain rooms have been noted, the hotel's consistent commitment to cleanliness, comfort, and a wide array of amenities, including a 24-hour fitness center, multiple dining options, and unique features like working fireplaces, ensures a memorable stay. The exceptional staff and its deep roots in Boston's history further solidify its reputation as a premier choice for both leisure and business travel.

Stayed here for a long weekend, and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. From its stunning lobby (the way that it smelled!), to the bars and restaurants, this hotel is one of the best in Boston. Its location in a walkable distance to historical areas, the T and Newbury St was perfect. The staff was incredible, the rooms were clean, cozy and room service was lovely. Worth every penny and will be back! Highly recommend.

If I could give six stars for service, I would! One of those trips I couldn’t book at conference hotel and needed something close and within budget. This hotel exceeded all my expectations. Warm, friendly, helpful and amazing lobby bar. All the staff are exceptional. I came in frazzled and they immediately put me at ease. In every way, they made sure I felt like an old friend at the property. Six stars!!!
