NOT the Hilton Experience I’ve had in past visits to other Hilton Hotels. I am honestly extremely surprised and disappointed. I decided to book this hotel since i was going to an event at the stadium. Turns out a lot of people had the same idea. This hotel was clearly not ready to handle the influx of reservations. Checking in was beyond chaotic. Waited 40 minutes to check in, and for the first 25 minutes there was only one person working behind the front desk. The front desk associates were telling every single guest that the rooms are not ready, despite the time being after 3pm. I especially felt bad for a couple that was checking in before me who asked where they can change and get ready for a wedding they have in one hour. They ended up using the public restroom around the corner from the lobby. I checked in (took 10 minutes because the system showed multiple payments have been made for my one night stay???) and to my surprise my room was ready. I should have known something was up because I walk through the doors into the room and the bed is not made. The sheets and cover and pillows were on the seat next to the bed. So the room was in fact not cleaned, just like everyone else trying to check in. When I got back to my room later that evening the bed was made, so housekeeping must’ve come in and clean when I was out. This morning I was taking a shower and almost got burnt. The temperature handle magically moved from warm to hot by itself. This just added more disbelief to my already horrible experience. Never again will I stay at this location. Shame on you Hilton.

Hilton Boston/Dedham Introduce

For local users and visitors seeking accommodation in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category within Dedham, Massachusetts, the Hilton Boston/Dedham at 25 Allied Dr, Dedham, MA 02026, USA, is a prominent option. Easily reachable via phone at (781) 329-7900 or +1 781-329-7900, this Hilton property aims to cater to a diverse clientele, from business travelers to those attending events at nearby venues like Gillette Stadium. However, recent guest experiences present a mixed picture, highlighting both the hotel's potential and areas where it may fall short of expectations.

The Hilton Boston/Dedham, built in 1988 and last renovated in 2017, features 267 rooms across four floors. It's designed to offer a range of services and amenities typical of a full-service hotel, including on-site dining, meeting facilities, and recreational options. Its location provides convenient access to major highways, connecting guests to downtown Boston, Providence, and local attractions.

Environment: Varied Impressions of Comfort and Upkeep

The overall environment of the Hilton Boston/Dedham appears to evoke mixed reactions from guests. While some reviewers praise aspects of the property, such as the general cleanliness of the rooms and the presence of blackout curtains, others express significant disappointment, noting that it "NOT the Hilton Experience I’ve had in past visits to other Hilton Hotels." This suggests inconsistency in the upkeep or guest experience.

Common areas like the lobby are equipped with amenities such as a fireplace, aiming to create a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel also boasts a garden and a terrace, offering spaces for relaxation. However, the mention of "minor details such as the vanity drawers being fake and a little scratched, one ding in the shower flooring" in a positive review still points to some wear and tear that might be noticeable. Another review explicitly states, "The bathroom looked brand new, with flawless finishes and a pristine tub—everything gleamed, and I didn’t see a single scratch or sign of wear," which contrasts sharply with the negative feedback regarding unmade beds and potential cleaning oversights. This indicates a potential variability in room quality and housekeeping consistency.

The hotel is situated in a business district, near the Dedham Corporate Center MBTA Rail Station, offering a practical location for corporate travelers. Its proximity to major highways (I-95 and I-93) provides ease of access for those driving. While some rooms may offer pleasant views, the hotel is not nestled in a particularly scenic resort-like setting, typical of a suburban business hotel.

Services: From Stellar Staff to Operational Challenges

The service aspect at Hilton Boston/Dedham receives polarized feedback. On one hand, many guests commend the staff, describing them as "super nice," "friendly," and "helpful." The presence of a Starbucks in the lobby and a full bar are considered significant conveniences by some. The restaurant, Herb N'Kitchen, provides on-site dining options for breakfast (typically a buffet with a surcharge) and other meals, along with room service. The convenience of a small store/convenience store on-site is also noted.

However, a major point of contention arises from operational efficiency, particularly during peak times. One detailed review vividly describes "beyond chaotic" check-in experiences, with long waits and rooms not being ready well past the official check-in time. Instances of rooms not being cleaned upon initial entry and issues with in-room amenities like fluctuating shower temperatures are also reported. While staff eventually rectifies issues like unmade beds, the initial oversight can significantly impact guest satisfaction. The ability of the hotel to handle an "influx of reservations," especially during events at Gillette Stadium, appears to be a significant challenge.

Standard services include a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, and dry cleaning services. The hotel provides complimentary self-parking and offers free in-room Wi-Fi, though some older information might mention wired internet for a fee. Concierge services and multilingual staff (English, French, Korean, Spanish) are available to assist guests.

Features: Comprehensive Amenities with Room for Improvement

The Hilton Boston/Dedham offers a range of features aimed at enhancing the guest experience:

  • Dining and Beverages: Beyond the main restaurant, the presence of a Starbucks in the lobby is a highly appreciated feature for many guests. There is also a full bar for evening relaxation.
  • Recreation: The hotel boasts an indoor pool, a sauna, and a fitness center, providing options for guests to unwind and stay active. Some sources also mention outdoor sports courts.
  • Business and Events: With approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a conference center and banquet hall, the hotel is equipped to host various corporate and social gatherings. A business center is also available.
  • Room Amenities: Guest rooms typically feature pillow-top beds, air conditioning, LED TVs with premium channels, refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, and laptop-compatible safes. Blackout curtains are a consistent positive mention for ensuring restful sleep. Private bathrooms include shower/tub combinations, free toiletries, and bathrobes.
  • Accessibility: The hotel is equipped with facilities for disabled guests, including wheelchair-accessible paths, parking, and business/fitness centers.
  • Proximity to Attractions: The hotel's location is a key feature, being less than 20 minutes from Gillette Stadium (without traffic) and approximately 1 mile from Legacy Place, a popular shopping and dining destination. It also offers convenient access to downtown Boston attractions.

Despite these offerings, some features, such as the indoor pool, have received mixed reviews regarding water temperature, with one guest noting it was "noticeably colder than expected." There's also a general sentiment from some reviews that the hotel might benefit from more widespread updates or renovations, hinting that some areas might feel dated.

Promotional Information and Objective Guest Insights

As a Hilton property, the Hilton Boston/Dedham participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, offering members benefits and opportunities to earn and redeem points. Various rates and packages may be available through Hilton's official channels or third-party booking sites. Guests are advised to check directly for current promotional offers, which might include discounts for advance bookings, extended stays, or seasonal promotions. A buffet breakfast is available for a surcharge (around $19.26 per person).

The provided customer reviews paint a clear, albeit contrasting, picture. One positive review highlights aspects like the presence of a Starbucks and full bar, friendly staff, clean room, good AC, and effective blackout curtains. This reviewer gave a "10/10 solid choice," indicating a very satisfactory experience despite minor cosmetic imperfections. This suggests that when the hotel is operating smoothly, it can provide a very pleasant stay.

Conversely, the detailed negative review describes a "horrible experience" with "chaotic" check-in, long waits, and rooms not being ready after 3 PM. The instance of an unmade bed upon entry and a dangerous fluctuation in shower water temperature are significant red flags. This review points to potential issues with operational management and consistency in housekeeping and maintenance, particularly when the hotel is under pressure due to high occupancy, such as during events at Gillette Stadium. The phrase "NOT the Hilton Experience I’ve had in past visits to other Hilton Hotels" underscores a disappointment in the brand's expected standards.

For potential guests searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in Dedham, it is crucial to weigh these diverse perspectives. While the Hilton Boston/Dedham offers a comprehensive range of amenities and a convenient location for business and leisure activities, particularly for events at Gillette Stadium or visits to Legacy Place, recent feedback suggests that service consistency and room readiness, especially during peak demand, can be areas of concern. Guests valuing a reliable, seamless experience typical of major hotel chains should consider these points and perhaps verify specific room readiness and amenities upon booking or arrival. However, for those who experience the positive aspects, the hotel can provide a comfortable and well-serviced stay with appreciated features like the on-site Starbucks.

10/10 solid choice due to the fact that they have a Starbucks in the lobby. Full bar as well which I didn’t get to check out unfortunately. The staff were all super nice, the room was clean, the ac pumping, blackout curtains as well which are always a plus. Overall everything was really nice! Minor details such as the vanity drawers being fake and a little scratched, one ding in the shower flooring but other than that everything was spotless. Less than 20 mins from Gillette stadium (w/ no traffic) TONS of parking spaces available

I had no choice but to stay in this hotel as a stay to play hockey tournament. Of course the rates were crazy high for this event as is typical for stay to play tournaments. I would never choose a hotel that has a pricey restaurant and no grab and go breakfast as this is something I feel is a must when traveling with two children. The fact that I can't even get a complimentary cup of coffee in the morning drives me crazy.... Instead I had to spend $4 for a medium coffee at the hotel's Starbucks. The room was nothing special and I was even more annoyed to find that there was no microwave in the room. My number one complaint came on the third night of our stay at 11pm when my family was asleep. I awoke to the sound of the key card being activated on our door and then someone pushing it open; thank God we had the deadbolt on. Clearly the hotel had given our room to someone else as well. Ten minutes later the phone is ringing (children still sleeping) and it's the front desk asking who is in the room!!! I was mad at this point and told him it was OUR room and that I don't appreciate someone trying to get into our room ever let alone at 11pm. The guy at the front desk said he would call back shortly once he sorted it out. I said "do not call back tonight, my family is sleeping and that includes two children!" I complained the next morning and all the girl at the desk did was give me the card for the general manager.

This hotel has been a Disaster since the moment we arrived. Broken HVAC system, toilets over flowing, no towels. Lack of staff, an “all American breakfast” that lacked any options for dietary needs or vegetarians, and a parking lot that was designed by the same guy who tries to buy a left handed screw driver. I brought 130+ students here on a trip for two nights. We had 10+ rooms with broken AC and temps reaching 90+ degrees. We had to prop windows open and shut down broken AC units, change rooms, and we were moving kids around until almost midnight just to get kids in a safe sleeping space. In addition the hotel knew exactly how many kids were in each room (4) but only stocked many of the rooms with two bath towels, then told us they didn’t have anyone staffed for house keeping so they couldn’t get more for “a while”. At breakfast we had Eggs, bacon, potato’s, and toast. With numerous students who are vegan or vegetarian having to spend crazy money to buy cereal bowls from the shop for breakfast so they could eat something. Last but not least we had multiple toilets broken upon arrival. A lovely topping on the crap storm that was this hotel stay. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. 1 star is a gift.

I chose this hotel as my face for a visit to Boston, it was a good price for the distance away from the city. I only dealt with staff during check-in and check out. I have no comments they were fine. Did their job appropriately. The room was Fine. There was a voltage tearing in a portion of the room and there were a few cobwebs 8 to 10 feet up. There is a small parking area to the left of the entrance, once that’s full. There’s a parking garage available for overflow parking.
